This piece took me at least 10 hours and I forced myself to learn photo-bashing for the buildings in the background because I FORGOT WINDOW BRUSHES EXIST.

But, photo-bashing is a needed skill for backgrounds, so I don't mind that I spent the extra time doing it.

But! This is my homebrew, Frankenstein'd Spider-Man; aka, Peter May Parker. The main character for an upcoming Peter In Gotham fic I'm making. Not sure when it'll get posted, but the first chapter just needs to be edited.

Hi, these bees are babies! They’re not clumsy at all, this is what is called orientation flights. After birth and before beginning their careers as foragers (as all Honey bees cycle through all the jobs in the Hive throughout their lifespan), Honey bees take short flights back and forth, to and from the Hive, to orient themselves with their wings and their home so they can learn its location and how to get back home after foraging! Everyone has to learn, these are just smol little baby turkeys. Bees use the angle of the sun for location so adults have a better and more direct sense of location than any human

honestly I'm very grateful that I got involved in queer community organizing basically as soon as I turned 18, because that's how I was exposed to other queer people saying things like "I just wouldn't trust a bisexual" and "I don't believe in that privilege stuff" and "I don't like when people act like you have to be a feminist if you're gay," all of which taught me at a very young age the crucial truth that queer people can be very stupid and very wrong

I think there's a pervasive tendency among very young baby queers to get kind of dazzled by being among other gay people for the first time and that combined with the heady drug of the first taste of independence can really make you start thinking of The Queer Community(TM) like it's one big enlightened rainbow utopia but unfortunately we have dipshits and malevolent freaks like every other demographic. Just to raise awareness at the situation in Canada right now to my non-Canadian followers: Toronto has been ranked as having the worst air quality in the world right now due to wildfires.

Toronto is not a wildfire-prone area. It is extremely close to the USA border, and the smog is currently affecting NY right now. There is literal chunks of debris in the air. The sky is orange, and the sun is nowhere to be seen.

Climate change and its effects are right outside your door. Data centres are the cause for the insane heat waves across the globe, and the increase in wildfires and other natural disasters.

You will watch recordings of the world burn around you, and only when you are behind the camera will you realize there is no going back.

Stop the data centres. Protect our planet.

Don’t use AI to write. Use childhood trauma like a real poet.

What helped me write trauma better is remembering that the nervous system learns predictions. If danger used to come after quiet, calm can feel threatening. If kindness used to come with a price, kindness can feel suspicious. So healing is not just “they know they’re safe now.” Healing is the slow, annoying, deeply unfair process of teaching the body that the old prediction is not always the present truth.
