To the most audacious Kongeriget Danmark, to the unwavering Mathias,

It is I, your Lukas. It has been some time. As you requested, I am writing to you. Though, whether or not you deem it too little or too late, it matters not. 

It is a shame I missed you and Berwald at our last council meeting. I was unaware that both of you had such pressing matters that excused you from our Unional duties. Do keep me informed, as I never want to endure juggling a growingly restless group of bitter men by myself again. Your King did little to appease, but I imagine you must have dealt with his temper tantrum yourself.

Speaking of: Akershus has been quiet since our Lady King’s death, and I am almost wavered at how you’ve kept to yourself, not intruding on that silence with that loud mouth of yours. Are you perhaps withholding yourself for my sake? Or have you truly drunk yourself into a ditch? 

Think of visiting, perhaps. Emil is asking for you every day now. 

Whatever it may be — grown into the ground with roots or having your hands tied (the latter, which I’d admittedly be amused to see) — I await your reply. And a hard, much-needed drink together.

(apparently, in history, Kruschev gifted the Kennedys a puppy named Pushinka after Mrs. Kennedy asked him about Strelka during the Vienna State Dinner. imo, alfred and ivan had a convo of their own at this table, where alfred fleetingly mentioned how a space dog was "so cool" and how he'd love to have one. which, naturally, ivan did NOT forget)

Also headcanons for Den

Denmark is the second tallest Nordic at 193 cm / 6′ 4″

He has defined arms and thighs due to his sport hobbies - but other than that he's too much of a foodie and homebody to be in super fit shape

He has a lot of freckles across his body

The other Nordics have forbidden Denmark from growing a beard ever again, as he looks too old with it. He doesn't like how facial hair feels anyway, so he doesn't mind

Denmark has a slight tan all year around (which other Nordics are definitely jealous of during winter)

He has scars from battles, but most of them have faded over time. The most prominent one goes across his stomach

He has quite notable smile lines

Den has broken his nose (at least) twice and it has affected its shape, it's a bit bumpy and not straight

Denmark doesn't have tattoos - he's not a fan of needles. And he wouldn't know what kind of picture to get anyway

Den has suffered from insomnia for as long as he can remember. He doesn't know why, but his head always seems too full of thought to let him sleep properly. At worst, he has gone on for days without sleeping. He also tends to see nightmares more often than the other Nordics

Some DenNor headcanons

• Denmark is oblivious in part he doesn’t notice people flirting with him and in part Norway has resting bitch face

• It took forever for the to get together. Denmark wasn’t confident in Norway’s feelings to ask him out. Iceland had to push him into it (mostly to get Norway out of the house)

• Norway likes to leave bite marks on Denmark’s neck and Denmark wears them like a badge of honor.

• The two aren’t overly affectionate in public in fact most nations didn’t know they were in a relationship.

• at most they hold hands, but other than that their pda is the same

• Denmark wakes up early and makes them breakfast. Norway makes them dinner.

• Norway is a night owl so most of the time he’s reading a book while Denmark sleeps in his lap.
