Isn't Humility an Ironic Thing

Ain't it a shame that despite someone being so angry and hostile towards your decisions you're making in life to better yourself, you know in your heart that you would still love that person the same? Despite that being mad at you, slandering you, giving you the cold shoulder and not acting mature to you in any way, you would still make sure that from the batch of cupcakes, you leave some blank because that person likes their cupcakes without any icing. Despite that person making you feel guilty about making a life decision and lowering your confidence, you still go to the store and see some cookies that the person likes, and you're reminded that regular Mint Oreos is their favorite. Isn't humility an ironic thing? It's the omnipresent wounds that can't be healed by balm or wraps. It's self sacrificing your emotions to be angry at a person, and replacing it with thoughts of optimistic thoughts of them, like wanting to buy their favorite snack when they hate your presence. It's an action that can never be respected or given back unless the other person is willing to partake in such act. Its knowing this, yet realizing that if you partake in such as this, you will be at peace knowing you're the bigger person for lowering yourself. Oh what a poison it is when that person still doesn't partake in such a kindness as universal, yet rare, as humility. How the humble bear wounds in their hearts not from sword or spear, but from hostility and anger from a person. They bear a broken heart secretly in them, yet they work to ease the broken hearts of others, all because of the selfish nature of one person. They work to give genuine kindness to others, and behind closed doors, their eyes show a mute sadness. Everybody can agree humility is universally good, but so few practice this nature.
