Cabin Fever || Iris & Lilias
Going on long walks had always helped to clear the jumble of thoughts that crowded her mind after being cooped up for too long. An unfortunate side effect of being able to focus on the things rattling around in her mind was the fact that she became blissfully oblivious to her surroundings, and it sometimes led to her walking into trouble without even realizing it. Her feet dutifully carried her farther and farther from home, staying on the winding path until she found herself deep within the forest of Hallowed Oak. Coming back to reality and seeing just where she was, she was about to turn around and head back to the safety of Night Haven (just how many people could utter that phrase?) when something jumped out from behind a tree. Iris nearly jumped out of her skin, doing a double take at the blonde woman who looked perfectly at home in the dark, twisted forest. Her smile was broad, and seemingly genuine, as she rushed forward to greet Iris and question her on the appearance of her hair, only then remembering to introduce herself.
This girl didnât seem like much of a threat, but Iris knew better than most that appearances could be deceiving. However, it was hard not to smile at the girlâs blatant enthusiasm. âWell met, Lilias. And Iâm glad you like it.â She wasnât sure what possessed her to do so, but she decided on the spot to have some fun with the wide-eyed girl. âIâm not really sure why it is the way it is. I just wake up some mornings and it will change color. Red, blue, green, violet, white⊠I never know what itâs going to be next.â She did her best to keep a straight face, although the smirk tugging at her lips was hard to suppress.Â
Lilias watched as the girl smiled, which made Lilias happy. She was glad that she hadn't scared the girl off, because she tended to do that to people at times. She then nodded as she listened to the girls words. "What's your name?" she then asked her soon after before the girl's next statement caught her off guard. Her hair, changed color? Lilias' eyes widened as she spoke. She was in awe. Lilias was easily placed in a state of awe, but Lilias thought that it was the best thing ever, even though she could make her hair do that sometimes as well. "That is amazing!" Lilias then said as she bounced around on the balls of her feet. Â She was excited to see what this girl was like. Just from the state of her hair, Lilias already wanted to be friends. She was excited. "What's your name?" she then asked her, since she never caught it. She didn't know if it was because she had never told her, or because she didn't catch it, but nevertheless, she needed it again. "And how does your hair do that?" she then asked her. She knew that her hair did that because it just happened sometimes when she changed into human form, but she was still curious about the girl. She wanted to know how her hair did that, and if Lilias could get as many colors as she could.Â
She then watched as the girl started to smile again. Smiles were nice. Lilias liked when people smiled, so she just waited until she would smile again. Lilias was like a small child wherever she went, so she didn't even know if the stranger she just meant would find her annoying or like her. She was used to people finding her annoying though, since no one ever really stuck around with her.Â
