So. Apparently my torso is so heinous that my local government passed a law in response to a local free the nipple rally that now restricts my rights even further. While men are allowed to go shirtless there's legislation restricting me from showing ANY of my breast- sideboob- underboob-and a certain amount of cleavage. (I think the actual bill says something like 3inches from the areola. Which- guess what? That's pretty much my entire breast.) Why does this matter? Why do I want to run around in public shirtless? I dont. I do not want there to be different laws for my body. I am an equal. And it starts with basic legislation. I won't treated like a child. One council member response to our protest is for us to "grow up" "there's other things to worry about" but while Springfield remains in the top statistics for rape and domestic violence- I won't quit fighting for equality. We need to retain our integrity and continue to pursue equal treatment everyday. .
