Manwë Sulimo, the King of the Valar and Lord of the Airs of Arda... appointed to his position of authority by Eru Iluvatar as his heart was closest to the One.

Manwë is the younger brother to Melkor, and he is married to Varda the Lady of the Stars. The relationships described in lore for him are few... but highlight Manwë's gentle spirit, forgiving nature, and his inability to comprehend evil.

There are 7 works for this pairing on AO3 and I wrote three of them ("wind daughter, white flame", "tectonic", and "a song for water fair") and your art is like the second art I've ever seen of them. And it's PERFECT oh my godddd the way I screamed when I saw it

I started out shipping them as a thought experiment and now they're my frickin OTP. It was supposed to be a what-if fic and then!!! The PARALLELS between them! The heirs of kings, carrying the weight of fate, tied together by the quest for the Silmarils--but ending up on separate paths because of exactly what your art has in it. And yet in the end they both die without getting the afterlife of the elves: Luthien passes out of the world because of the Gift of Men and Maedhros ends up in the Everlasting Darkness.
