Black parents, let’s stop assuming that sending our children to predominantly white schools automatically gives them a better education or a better experience. Too often, our kids end up feeling like they don’t belong or aren’t fully accepted by some of their peers and sometimes even by their peers’ parents. While not everyone is the same, prejudice still exists, and it can have a real impact on a child’s confidence and sense of belonging. Instead of forcing our children into environments where they may constantly have to prove themselves, let’s also invest in and support schools and communities where they are valued, respected, and encouraged to thrive. This isn’t about being racist or saying every person is prejudiced. It’s about acknowledging that these experiences are real for many families, and it’s okay to have an honest conversation about them. #JUSTICEFORNOLAN
