Severus took his time when her eyes met his. She’d always had the coolest color eyes, and not even time could have changed that. He kept his face relatively blank though. He didn’t want to let on how conflicted he was feeling about the whole situation. He’d done more than enough embarrassing things in front of her and he would not embarrass himself like that again. He was older, wiser, and not in love with her. When she faintly talked Severus felt light years better. At least she hadn’t taken off and she hadn’t opened up with an insult. That had to be a good sign. At least, Severus took it as good sign.
Swallowing past the lump in his throat that had suddenly appeared he shoved one of his hands into his pocket, clutching his fingers into a tight ball. Maybe if he tried that the stress and awkwardness wouldn’t show on his face. Just as he was getting a grip on his wayward emotions she spoke again and it felt like a dagger. He lowered his eyes from hers and traced the patterns they found there as he stood in silence, yet again. She had every right to think that was a possibility. It wasn’t like Severus had given her much to work with about how he actually felt the past few months. But he wanted to say something.
Eyes still firmly affixed on the ground he allowed himself to speak slowly and with carefully chosen words. Lest he offend her or saying something stupid again. “Perhaps, you shouldn’t jump to conclusions about what I mean and what I do not mean,” Looking up he stared at her. Flat and unassuming. He really had been worried about her, and he really was glad she was all right. If he hadn’t been able to right things between them before she was gone…He didn’t linger on that thought. Lily was more than capable, clearly. She was, after all, one of the smartest witches he’d ever met.
Lily more than assumed that this conversation wouldn't be easy and she was still silently punishing herself for being a little too over-friendly to someone she thought just needed a gentle reminder. The redhead thought she should have at least learned by now after the attack on the party that it was best to look out for those that were close to you and move on with your day. If she would have done something like that she wouldn't have had to stand in front of Severus trying to figure out what she could even possibly say. For a few seconds she was dangerously close to screaming at him with all of her frustrations, and at the same time her body was trying to pull her in the opposite direct and hoped she could forget this meeting even happened. Instead of resisting confrontation, Lily was clearly making a point to let him aware that she couldn't be fooled for some sort of kindness he was trying to show.
She wasn't going to go down the route again. Instead of respond quickly to his comment, Lily found her lips pressed tightly together in contemplation over his response. She wanted to laugh at his statement because there were plenty of times in Hogwarts that she thought there was a sliver of hope that he was truly sorry for what she called her, but she was beyond that chance to ever get an opportunity like that to pop up in her mind. His gaze was blank, mysterious yet assuming, but Lily was reluctant to show any emotion in return to what he said. "Can you really blame me? I'm not talking about this.. not with you," she replied as she ran a quick hand through her hair. Even if it was a conversation about present times, Lily was too reminded of their fall out at school to even be thinking about the fact that he showed some sort of kindness as far as her making it out of the party alive.
She was trying to mentally calculate how much time she had before it was dangerously close to her being locked up for an evening for her own "safety." It felt she had been there for hours more than seconds- there was too much happening all at once and Lily hadn't the time to prepare herself for even speaking to her former friend. A sigh escaped her lips as she craned her neck to look over her shoulder before even speaking again, "As much as I'd love to be stuck with you all night, I really need to go. People will wonder where I am."
Valerie glanced over the girl, eyes stopping for a second on her hair before her identity registered fully with her. She smirked internally. Lily Evans, annoying, presumably Order, mudblood. Worthless. Valerie didn’t care if there were a thousand seats empty beside her, she wouldn’t sit next to someone so disgusting if she had anything to say about it, which she did. At the younger witch’s question, Valerie shot her a look of annoyance, glancing around the shop briefly and while they were situated towards the back of the second level, there were enough seats elsewhere for her to settle into her own further, unmoving. “There are at least five other places to sit in this entire store. I’m sure you can find one.” She did’t care if they had the same idea or not, Valerie wouldn’t defile herself by sitting next to a stupid mudblood.
For a time that was supposed to be somewhat relaxing after the busy and hectic past few days everyone else had along with her, the girl's response immediately caused Lily to narrow her eyes as she tried to piece together who she was. There were people she recognized from school, other's were more of a familiar face because she saw them on a daily basis, but this one didn't exactly ring a bell and she was glad about that. "Oh really? And what exactly is wrong with the one next to you there? If you were saving it for a friend all you had to do was say so and I would have moved on with my day," she replied with a exasperated sigh. Lily wasn't looking for petty arguments, but she wasn't going to simply walk away without getting her two cents in.
CHARACTER CHALLENGE: AU CHALLENGE (THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS)
"I live my life a quarter mile at a time. Nothing else matters: not the mortgage, not the store, not my team and all their bullshit. For those ten seconds or less, I'm free."
---Dominic Toretto
When Lily Evans was introduced to the team as a new information technology recruit for the team, the reception was just about as she assumed. Some thought she deserved more recognition, others thought being stationed behind a computer occasionally annoying them over their headsets wasn't worth an equal share of the prize. With fiery red hair and her constant questions about the team's strength as a whole, they were unaware of her significance to the team until after running into trouble during the heist, Lily was right beside those who ventured inside proving she was a deadly combination of mind and strength. Even if they questioned her abilities, Lily would make sure her new family came out alive as long as she could help it.
You could cut the awkward with a knife it was so thick and the silence between them only further made Severus want to squirm. It stung to watch Lily take a step back fro him, like he would hurt her, but after everything…he didn’t blame her. Looking back on it now he could see her hesitation. He was hanging out with the wrong crowd, but there was no way he could fix that. Her crowd was a group of popular people, and Severus was not and had never been, one of those people. Filled with a deep bitterness at the unfairness of his entire situation Severus had to resist the urge to turn and flee. If he was lucky he’d make it to Regulus’s flat and he could apparate away. But he couldn’t. For the first time in years here was Lily, no friends in tow, and no Snape begging for an audience outside her dormitory.
Rubbing his hands together he leaned back, giving Lily more room between them. If she felt like bolting, fine. He had to cut the silence somehow but the only thing that was coming to mind was apologizing or attempting to make this conversation as normal as possible…which probably would only make things more awkward. There had to be something he could do. But the press of getting home and staying out of trouble was there too. He coughed, untangling his hands and rubbing the back of his neck.
"What’s-What’s new?" Severus asked, eyes firmly affixed to the ground between them. The moment it slipped out of his mouth he felt utterly ridiculous and stupid. Of all the things to say after years of radio silence that was not what Severus had wanted to say. Chiding himself for not only being a moron but a coward to he forced himself to look up at her. Taking her in. She’d changed, for worse or for better he didn’t know, but he could see that the little girl from his childhood had done well for herself. He’d heard she worked in the Ministry. Should he ask her about that? Probably not.
Feeling utterly out of his element, not a feeling Severus particularly liked he waved his hand dismissively in the air. “Forget I asked that. It was a stupid question,” He swallowed hard but didn’t allow himself to avert his eyes. He was not a coward and he would get no where towards fixing things if he couldn’t look at her. Merlin, awkward. Severus should have kept his mouth shut and remained in the shadows. Perhaps their first meeting should have been slightly better planned out. “I-I’m glad you got out of the party in one piece,” It was quiet and stupid to say but honestly, it was a relief for Severus to see her.
Things would have been much easier if Lily found enough strength to walk right past him and move on with her evening, but the fact that they had run into each other alone was a strange predicament. There were a mixture of words and emotions floating through her mind everything from bitterness from the fall out of their friendship, and part of her was actually saddened by the fact that she saw him as a complete stranger standing before her. It wasn't the best friend that spent time with her when they both needed time away from the world, or the friend that she watched change ever since Hogwarts came around. Sometimes she just wondered what would have happened if she never met him.
It was clear that he was just as apprehensive about the situation as she was, and part of her wanted to jump in with some sort of statement to tell him to leave if talking was going to be something difficult, but his simple question asking about her life as if they were friends that hadn't seen each other for a few weeks sent an exasperated sigh to move out of her lips. She couldn't do this- she couldn't look and him and talk as if everything was fine because there was nothing pleasant about the way she perceived him as now. She went to respond to his question trying to swallow back the need to respond with some sort of sarcastic comment, but his comment to forget it just as she had said blocked her mind from thinking what she could next. The last thing she wanted was to be thrown in a cell with him for a whole night.
The redhead eventually found enough composure to fight away the stature she was in, her eyes eventually leaving the darkened ground. She hadn't expected to have her eyes meet his gaze as well, but as soon as it happened it was hard to think of anything she could do. For a glimmer of a moment she thought she saw something more than the evil she had engraved in her mind in regard to him. He mentioned the party, confusion settling in her features as he made some sort of pass at the idea that he was glad someone from the Order was alive. Answers to questions were still unanswered about the event, but Lily was skeptic to think that anyone on the other side felt remorse for the opposing party, former friend or not.
"I-I'm fine," was all she mannered to whisper in reply before she shook her head running her hand against her cheek before she dropped it again. In her eyes she sounded like a complete idiot talking the way she was, and the fact that speaking seemed so hard around him frustrated her even more. "You shouldn't say something like that though," she finally managed to mumble as she pressed her lips together tightly. Lies were one thing, words that had no meaning behind them were another, "-Things you don't mean." Lily might have been referencing their conversation know, but her words surprised her by the fact that it felt like a heavy weight was lifted off her chest. Obviously he said things to please others which had a different meeting later on, and someone had to call him out on it.
Severus had been wandering, to kill time, but lost as he was in his head he hardly noticed the original rush of witches and wizards to get home. And he sure as hell didn’t notice anything until the sun had set. Berating himself Snape made a mental note to never give himself so much time to himself again. He pulled his cloak closer and started to walk at a hurried pace to get home in time. He didn’t live very far from here but he wasn’t going to risk getting locked up for the night. His companions wouldn’t let him hear the end of it and he could just hear the scoff of distaste when word got to Lord Voldemort’s ears. No. Better to walk like there was a fire up his ass than to risk that.
He stuck to the shadows of the street, leaving the well lit areas of the sidewalk open to the other people who were now rushing him like him. If the people couldn’t see you then you couldn’t be stopped for a random search like the new Minister had planned. Not that Severus had anything bad on him, but still, he had always been a man of caution. Stopping to let a couple pass him Severus looked down the street. Close to home, thank god. The relief that washed through him froze though when he saw a familiar mane of red hair appear behind the couple. Moving closer to the shop he prayed to anything that she hadn’t seen him, or if she didn’t she’d walk right on by.
But Severus was never lucky. He hadn’t spoken to Lily since his final, and admittedly embarrassing, pleas for her forgiveness in their sixth year. He hadn’t been avoiding her, but he sure as hell hadn’t gone out of his way to run into her either. Her voice made him feel an odd rush of emotions but he pushed them all back. Not here. Instead he focused on how he felt utterly ridiculous standing there, shrouded in darkness. Clearly she didn’t know who he was…yet. It took him a long, even more awkward, moment before he managed to find the air he needed to talk and the energy to take a short step forward. “Hello, Lily,”
It wasn't the first time that Lily stuck her nose in someone's business in hope of being some sort of help or assistance to them, but with everything that happened as of late with the death of the previous Minister, she was beginning to constantly mentally scold herself for the choices that she made. There was an obvious amount of silence from the shadow as she waited patiently for a response tempted to walk away and forget everything altogether, but the figure finally stepped forward. Instead of agreeing with her or throwing some petty insult that some tended to do when people meddled, Lily was greeted with a simple hello and her name which immediately set her back in her tracks to begin with. It wasn't until the face came into view under the light that Lily found herself completely at a loss for words.
Severus Snape was a name that came up on occasion which usually consisted of the Order discussing their opponent, but Lily had a way to release her pent up anger at her former friend in those sort of meetings. She just hadn't expected to talk to him in person after everything that happened between them. It was a strange friendship the both of them once had which stemmed from Severus showing her a life beyond the Muggle world that introduced Lily to Hogwarts and all the magic the world had to offer. It seemed crazy to think that one word could change the course of everything she had, but the moment it came from her best friend's lips, she questioned his intentions even from the beginning.
The redhead took a few cautious steps backwards when he finally exposed himself out in the open- she didn't have any sort of desire or need to pull out her wand for protection, but a hurried walk back home wasn't supposed to end with her running into her former friend. She could have immediately turned on her heel and continued walking as she did a few times in school when he came looking for her, but something kept her where she was as if her feet were glued to their current spot. Even after their classes had graduated, Lily was doing a good job at ignoring his presence altogether if the situation arose. Her job was a blessing because she could hide away from everyone as she continued to work making sure she proved everyone wrong that she was more than a tainted name.
"Severus" Lily responded with a slight nod of her head before she shifted her weight to her other leg before she found her hands clasped tightly together through the awkward silence that hung between the both of them. The redhead felt no desire to exchange pleasantries, she was reluctant to use his name to begin with, but the redhead wasn't going to come out of this as the one who did the wrongdoing- she was just the friend that tried to defend him from Potter and her other friends. It was exhausting back in school trying to make sure she could stop anything that happened to him that her friends caused, and now she was beyond the point of even caring what they did no matter how annoying Potter still was on occasion. She pressed her lips together in contemplation over what to say next, her eyes moving to her shoes, "Forget I said anything."
It had only been a few days since the Minister's laws had been put into place, but Lily occasionally caught herself a little too close to curfew time causing her walk to be more rushed than she would have liked. This time around she couldn't have given the excuse that she was caught in some extra work back at the Ministry, instead she had found herself engrossed in a book back at one of the small shops that hardly had a patron in it other than the few employees. Usually the shops seemed to be good about reminding people that they would be closing soon due to the curfew, but it seemed as if the shop owner was in the same predicament she was.
The redhead was calmed by the fact that she wasn't the only one in the streets hurrying back home before they were too late. The people in the streets weren't any significant number which meant that most followed the rules set upon them, or they knew better than to try playing with the system. From the few things that Lily had heard about Minister Linton, she certainly didn't want to question a man's intentions with the rules set in place and this certainly wasn't a daring night for her. Home was the better option over all.
Shifting her bag up over her shoulder, Lily stopped in her tracks to see someone close by, preoccupied by something behind her. She took a second to glance over her shoulder with curious eyes only to turn back to the figure in confusion. There didn't appear to be anything of interest behind her other than the few other people hurrying back to their home for the evening. Lily decided to speak to the shadow, a little pressed for time but interested nonetheless,"I'm sorry, I don't mean to be rude but, It might be better if you got home. Curfew's coming up quick after all." Lily wasn't there to police the streets on the Ministry's behalf, but helping those unaware of the situation might need some assistance now and then.
"It’s too dangerous to go out, unless absolutely necessary. At lest right now. If Voldemort would sacrifice his own, Lily, I wouldn’t put anything past him." Alice sighed. "I’d ask you wait until tomorrow. Once Moody tells you all what’s going on, we can see about looking, alright?" She didn’t want any more casualties and this was the surest way to make certain of that. It killed Alice a bit, to have to wait, to not charge in but she’d been learning these past few years that the difference between life and death was, quite often, patience. "If it makes you feel any better, I’m not very fond of waiting either. But…it’s important to learn how to do so."
She was reluctant to agree when so many people were still unaccounted for, but the last thing Lily wanted was for some grave event to happen from a poor choice that she made. "Sure, that makes sense," Lily whispered with a forced smile as she moved to stand up from the chair she was sitting in. Sometimes it proved difficult to listen to instruction Alice gave her, but now wasn't the time to rebel or act out. "Just let me know if you need help with anything, I'll be around here somewhere." She needed to be somewhere that she could pace or occasionally watch the door in hope of another one they cared about made it out alive.
So Lily understands. Dorcas perks up a bit, a soft smile on her face and she leans slightly towards the redhead. “So have I. I haven’t heard much, not really. I’ve been trying to read deeper into what is being said, but there’s nothing there. It makes it ten times more difficult that there’s not much said about what they plan on doing to help us during this war.”
It was more than a simple decision they all had, this was hopefully going to cause good for their world as long as people were willing to cooperate. "Yeah, a small spread in the Prophet doesn't do much as far as swinging me toward one candidate over the other. I guess they were a little rushed with everything happening so soon too." Lily sighed rubbing her hands over her face. It should have been alarming that the Ministry was moving so fast, but she felt comforted by the fact that they were obviously alert now. "You doing okay though? All things considered and election aside?"
hold me, tell me “ e v e r y t h i n g ’ s o k a y , ” show me there’s a way to beat the monster
To Be Forged Anew || Peter & Lily
He was so done with moping.
It’d been a week since the party had gone so horribly awry, a new Minister had been elected, and Peter had grown bored with holing up in the Order’s library to collate reports and code new ideas. He’d promised himself and his brothers that he’d be stronger, be better than he had been, and he couldn’t achieve that trapped inside. Also Molly kept eyeing him with a singular expression that he had learned meant she was on the verge of an intervention. Molly’s interventions always involved more food than he was comfortable with, and he was not eager to be told that he could find a nice girl if he wanted to.
There weren’t a large number of places he could go in Wizarding London to be inconspicuous, particularly since the new Minister had closed off Knockturn Alley until further notice. He prayed that Magi Mugs was far enough off the beaten path where he could chainsmoke, read, and down more caffeine than was strictly necessary, but as he sat in his corner booth, steaming mug of coffee in front of him, he heard the bell above the door jangle and looked up to see a familiar face coming through the door.
No rest for the wicked, he guessed.
As the approached the booth he pushed his glasses up on his nose and sighed, “Is there a particular reason you’re coming over here? Or is it just my lucky day to be tormented.”
A week had passed by at a snail's pace and Lily found herself more anxious with every day.
The whispers and secret chats within the halls of the Ministry had subsided now that the new Minister had been elected, but now it was more of a waiting game to see what the next dose of gossip would be. The elected Minister wasn't Lily's choice in the slightest, but anyone who was for the cause was a top candidate on her list of favorite people, so now she just had to wait and see if he'd live up to his word. The new curfew and restrictions on everyone were a bit of a downer, but as far as safety was concerned, Lily could make do with occasionally being searched as long as it saved lives in the long run.
Instead of heading back to headquarters to check in for the time being, Lily found herself turning down the endless streets until she came across Magi Mugs- the warmth practically inviting her in as soon as she opened the door and heard the bell ring as it knocked against the wood doorframe. She contemplated going to the counter and buying a cup of coffee before she headed out for the night, but Peter Pettigrew situated in the corner on his own caught her eye first. He was a friend that usually liked to keep to himself it seemed, and now that he had ventured out in the open Lily was going to take the opportunity to try to at least catch up with him outside of other duties they had.
As soon as she approached the booth, she heard Peter respond in an almost annoyed tone which fueled the girl's desire to talk to him even more. "Now I'm offended Peter, I thought we had something special between us. No tormenting included." she responded with a smirk on her face as she slid into the booth across from him. She felt a bit out of place without a cup of something to drink, but she figured she could work on that later, "Glad to see you've ventured out, but surprised to see you here."
"And I wouldn’t want to hold up your desperate scramble to form a pathetic attempt at an army, not to mention helping rebuild the Ministry, oh, and the daunting task of finding a new minister that will actually approve of your little kiddie club. Oh dear, you have a lot on your plate. Good luck, really.” Bellatrix spat back. Lily had never been a threat to her, or the Death Eaters, really. She hadn’t done anything to keep them on high alert, at least not yet, although if Bella kept pushing like she was, she was sure to be under Evans’ attack soon enough. However, Bellatrix wasn’t afraid. Simply challenging.
To say that a lot was left for the Order to do was an understatement, but the last person Lily was going to talk about their struggles with was the woman standing across from her. "I'm not worried, if you're not a fan of surprises like this we had, I'd suggest you keep yourself alert, yes?" Lily offered with a tilt of her head, her eyes taking a moment to meet Bellatrix's gaze for a slight second. Those words were probably most like empty for the moment because Lily had no idea what would happen with work or even with the Order, but it felt damn good to say. "I thought we were saying farewell to each other tonight, weren't we?" Lily offered with a wave of her hand as she took a few more steps, "I'm sure we'll talk again soon."
Daisy nodded, seriously, at Lily’s advice. It was a good point – when Daisy had struck out from her apartment, she hadn’t even thought about the dangers she could be facing mainly because she simply didn’t think she was important enough. In a weird way, it was nice to hear someone as important as Lily Evans was worried for her safety – it meant Daisy was moving up in the world.
Maybe sometime soon she wouldn’t just be a recruit – she’d be working alongside Lily in the field.
She watched Lily look down at the dress with more than a little anxiety, and couldn’t help the look of surprise that crossed her face at Lily’s words. She hadn’t even thought about it that way.
“I don’t think anything we’ve been through has been easy,” Daisy murmured, “But you’re right – it’ll only get harder, which is all the more reason to wear our dresses again. We can’t let them ruin everything for us. We have to show V… we have to show You Know Who that we’re stronger than giants and a little bit blood.”
Daisy smiled again, “Besides – my Mum bought mine and when a dress costs that much, I better wear it more than once!”
Lily was learning more about everyone that was a part of the Order every day, recruits included, and the fact that she was learning as much as she was about Daisy during such a questionable time was a calming thought. The redhead herself was apprehensive about joining the Order in worry that she wasn't going to be the proper soldier they needed, but there were moments that had passed that made her continual effort worth it. She was working off a mindset of fear mixed with astonishment ever since she escaped the mansion that night, but Daisy was slowly helping to ease the apprehension.
A discussion of dresses would have probably caused them to get a strange look from someone passing by, but they were alone and could speak freely without worry about what was hiding from plain sight. "You're right.. you're absolutely right about that," Lily nodded quickly in response as she pursed her lips in contemplation. Her mind had driven her to the point that she wanted to rid any memory from this night altogether, physical items included. "We can't let him think we're affected so deeply by something like this.. even though our numbers are questionable right now," she mumbled as she tightened one of her hands into a fist.
Even through the struggles they were experiencing, Lily wasn't going to be another statistic that perished under the Dark Lord's rule. With the mention of her mother buying her dress, the redhead chuckled to herself with a grin, "The last thing we'd want is an unhappy Mum now, would we?" she responded before she turned to head to look behind them. Her desire to accomplish the goal that she had ventured out to do was practically gone thanks to a recruit that deserved more credit after all,
"You really are something Daisy. Thank you for this- I'd be a mess without you here right now."
On Renewed Fervor and a Craving for Cookies
Up until that night, this war never actually felt all that real. Well, of course it was real. People were getting hurt, killed even. Entire families were snuffed out overnight as if they never existed; agents eavesdropped on villainous meetings and passed word of their findings in dark alleyways – the sort of shit most people only ever expect to hear about in works of fiction, or grandparent’s war stories. But this was all happening around Gideon now. He was in those stories. He was one of those agents.
It wasn’t frightening, at least not in the usual context. Sure, the fact that at any given moment your life could be ended was undoubtedly accompanied by a certain amount of healthy fear. That was good fear, though. The kind that gets your blood pumping and lets you react at lightning speed when the time called for it. Instinct had kicked in when the giants attacked, and Gideon had sprung into action, helping anyone he could find to escape, all the while searching for his brother. Truthfully, it was energizing to finally be involved in some action. No way in hell he’d be talking about that during the next debriefing, but he couldn’t deny himself the simple pleasure of actually being of use for the cause.
He and Fabian hadn’t spoken much since that night, which wasn’t that unusual considering all of the planning and counter-maneuvering that had to be done. Still, traversing the Order headquarter on a daily basis, he usually bumped into his brother at least half a dozen times (for the most part unintentionally). Considering there was no task that required his attention for the time being, he decided to wander about and see if he could find his other half. Who knows, maybe he’d even stumble into a good position to eavesdrop on the latest mission reports, which he had been temporarily banned from when he asked if there would be baked goods last week.
Between work and traveling from the Ministry each night, Lily found herself spending as much time at headquarters as possible. There was part of her who thought that perhaps she'd have some sort of breakthrough or unexpected mission that might show up out of the blue, otherwise the more compassionate side of her was doing it to be surrounded by those people that had the same beliefs as she did. Venturing out into the world was proving dangerous now after the attack because Lily along with many others knew the unexpected dangers that might be hanging around each corner that you pass by. Being surrounded by those that she cared about was the best idea until they were given instruction as far as what they needed to do next.
She had contemplated moving to the library engrossing herself in something that made her look busy while she absentmindedly flipped through the pages of a single book, but instead she found her feet quietly moving to the doorway of the kitchen in hope of some peace and quiet. As of late, most seemed to be speaking in hushed voices or whispers, but she had found the kitchen empty which was a slightly calming thought. She had no reason to be where she was now, instead she was looking for anything to calm her questioning mind. Dropping her jacket on a nearby stool, Lily turned to look across the counters for something to pass the time with.
She heard footsteps soon after her journey into the kitchen which caused her to quickly turn on her heel to face the door wondering who had snuck inside as well. More than likely she was expected Molly to pop her head in the door to question whether she needed something, but instead she saw Gideon in her place. "Hello Gideon, good to see you," Lily responded to the silence that came between his footsteps, "Although I can't say I can help you much if you were looking for a snack, just got here myself."
