Just hearing the runt’s voice infuriated the cowboy. That’s it, that’s enough rest. It’s time to settle this damn draw. Sluggishly he began to stand up but not before letting out a groan and a few curses as he forced his injured body to move again. It seemed that his drive to vanquish Cardinal was stronger than the pain.After all, letting his prey escape was never on his list, especially not this one.
He was about to move out and hunt for the crimson robot again,when he caught the teleportation flash from the corner of his eye. Hmm?! Someone else…?!
Quickly he turned around and took out his rifle. His sight might have still been blurry from the shrapnel explosion, but he was able to see the red figure that appeared in the distance.
Now who the hell was this….wait a sec…was that….Pyro?!
Immediately the cowboy lowered his weapon and simply stared at the fiery mighty number that marched towards him.
“Don’t push yourself, Shade, I’m right here–”
Hmph.
“What in Tyson’s name HAPPENED here?”
He was ticked off alright. But how did he know about this whole situation?
“Pyro, didn’t expect you here, cool off there’s nothing to worry about. I’m fine, just got some scratches.” Shade calmly replied as he turned from him. “As for what’s happening, I’ll tell ya what’s happening. I’m in the middle of a hunt…that’s all. Now, pardon me but I got no time to waste. You shouldn’t be concerned. I need to settle this drawl right now.” Shade growled as he began to walk away towards the building that Cardinal was standing on top of.
“There you are, you damn blasted runt! Get down here and fight!… Nah, forget it. Cowards like you run. Know what? I’m going up there right now!”
[ I ] - “.....”
A full ten seconds pass before the Elder Mighty Number took a deep breath, pinched the bridge of his nose, and gave a long sigh, his flames venting out a little more heat as he did so.
Right. So this was an Alternate of No. 8. An apperently more agresssive Alternate of Eight, so to speak--from the sounds of things, it looked as if Shade had brought this upon himself. Not entirely a shock to hear...but it made one wonder why he would take such a forward approach. HIS Shade was nothing of the sort--much more mellow, but still stubborn when he wanted to be.
And speaking of that.
It sounded like this Eight wasn’t about to give up, either.
“You--” He almost couldn’t believe what he was hearing--but then he remembered who he was talking to. “You fell off a roof! Sustained acid AND external damages--! And you’re telling me to COOL OFF?!”
Uh oh.
“I have every right to be concerned--I am your elder brother.”
Pyro then extingushes the flames of his right arm and reaches over to YANK Shade backwards by the collar of his cloak--preventing him from moving in on Cardinal. “You are in NO condition to continue this--chase--hunt--whatever it is you’re getting at with him! You are going to disengage, apologize, and return to Sanda Tech for immediate repairs.”
“THAT is an order, Mighty No. 8.”
Pyrogen narrows his commanding, steely gaze at Shade the entire time. He doesn’t even break eye contact as he points upwards towards Cardinal.
“And don’t think YOU’RE not coming with me! Get down here. NOW. So that YOU--” Again, he adresssed Shade. “--Can talk civily without shooting him.”

Countershade had hit the concrete floor quite heavily and every single xel in his body had felt it. The impact had even made a small chunk of his radar hat to break off and certain parts of his torso and legs to get unpleasantly scratch. He had fallen face down and had remained lying in that position for at least 3 minutes before slowly beginning to move again. He groaned as he began to push himself from the ground with his one arm and and as he did, pieces of glass fell from his visors.
Ay… He rasped. Why you damn cunning stinkin runt…..just wait till I….He continued to utter curses as he struggled to stand up.
He tried not to put too much pressure on his leg, but the pain still shot through and his body still ache a good deal from the fall.
Ooof! Ah, shoot! How was he supposed to go after the runt now?! Should he retreat? No. Of course not! He couldn’t let Red get away…he was more than willing to continue….but where was he? Shoot, he probably got away already...No..he’s here…his radar was still picking up his signal. Upon this realization, Shade quickly took out his rifle and was about to begin to search for Red, when he noticed the small robotic snakes slithering towards him.
Yup, the runt was around here somewhere alright, watching him. He had even sent out more of his weapons. The cowboy sneered at the incoming robotic lizards and then quickly began to ran away from them ( even if it was painful to do so) and he did, he turned to fire several missiles back at them.
[Cardinal was alarmed as the data feed came back showing the widespread damage.]
Cardinal: (Oh geez! Jaden’s going to kill me!)
[He was lucky that his active Combat mode prevented him being blinded by bad cross-references, but he soon had something else to feel worse about.
When Shade shot at the Search Snakes, they exploded—sending shrapnel and battery acid all over the place.]
Cardinal: !!! (AUGH NO WHY—)
[So now, on top of the damage from the missiles and the fall, Shade probably had some acid damage as well, and possibly had been hit by the shrapnel.]
Cardinal: No no no no no no no—
[Things had officially gotten out of hand.]

[He automatically opened up a new channel to Pyro, giving off an SOS signal. Meanwhile, he focused on recalling the rest of the Search Snakes so that MCN wouldn’t repeat the mistake if he continued on the move.
He also tried contacting the unfortunate Shade himself.]
<DLN-000 to MCN-008>: > Oh geez, Eight—I didn’t mean to shoot you off a building, please stop trying to make your injuries worse!
Countershade didn’t have time to turn or block his face or eyes from the acid and shrapnel that flew through the air, he wasn’t expecting this at all.
Auggh! Darn Hell, it was burning his eyes. If his visors wouldn’t have broken off then he probably wouldn’t have felt it so strongly.
Frantically he pulled his cloak forward and used it to clean his eyes and face. That damn son of a gun and his darn cheats…… Oh but he’ll get what’s coming to him soon…this wasn’t going to end here….
The cloak managed to clean up some of the acid from his face, but his eyes were still burning. Quickly he grabbed a can of some drink he had attached to his built, opened it, and poured it into his eyes. He just wanted some relief. He let out a short gasped as the drink washed his eyes….Damn it! Damn that blasted runt!
I really need to retreat…..nah…no…I can’t…I need to catch him…a boost… I just need a boost.
His HP was very low and on top of that his body ached and his eyes still burned.
Slowly he crouched down, he needed to rest for a bit before going after Red again. He also needed another strategy….He was in thought when he heard Cardinal.
Hmm?!
“ Listen you stinkin blasted runt.” He snarled. “ I’m heading over there, to blast your circuits inside out, right now!”
[ I ] - Unfortunately, Countershade was probably not gonna have the chance to thoroughly exact his revenge on the DLN--and that wasn’t just because of his current state, to be precise.
There was a flurry of orange and red Xels being transferred in an orange light--they were gathering just a few yards away from where Shade had fallen, and when it faded...
“Alright, I want to know what you two have gotten yourselves into THIS time--”
Pyrogen was looking a little irritated when he teleported in, and for good reason--Cardinal was something of a troublemaker, and while he would never purposely lead his brother into great danger, well...
“...! Shade?!”
Brotherly instincts kicked in, and Pyro was already jogging over to Eight, taking a knee right next to the injured Mighty Number--judging from the dent around his form on the concrete, as well as the acid and shrapnel damage...he didn’t look so good. “Don’t push yourself, Shade, I’m right here--”
Cardinal was the one that sent the signal in the first place--so knowing him, Pyrogen raised his eyes to the rooftops--and lo and behold, there he was. There was a wave of relief that swept through him, until...
[MN.1 to DLN-000 & MCN.8] //: ...I want answers. Now. From BOTH of you. What in Tyson’s name HAPPENED here? Did you two go too far?!
Quite unlike either of them... He thought. Which only raised even MORE questions. Some flares of orange flames began to rise from his frame as he grew more agitated--one thing was for sure, Pyro was NOT happy with this.

[ I ] - Upon receiving the distress signal, Pyrogen knew that whenever Cardinal--who had been missing for quite some time, from what he remembered--was using Morse Code, it was usually never a good sign.
SOS. EIGHT IS DOWN.
The message only confirmed his worries.
[ II } - “Whoa, whoa, whoa, where are you going? It’s sorta late for heading out, isn’t it, Big Bro--OH WAIT--is there a robbery or something? Can I come kick some chassis? Pleaaaaaaaaase?”
“No and no. Just tell Father to get the Med Bay ready, Two. We might need it.”

Lighting flashed, followed by the loud, familiar sound of thunder. Oh, man, while he wasn’t flying at the moment, bad storms always sort of stressed him out--

“Weeee should probably head for shelter, don’t wanna zapped, nope--Dynasuar gives me enough voltage thanks--”

The cowbot leans against a tree, taking in his surroundings. Boy...how they’d get into this mess?
