The word debunking is doing a lot of heavy lifting. this is a fluff piece that puts words in her mouth, weaponizes misogyny, and plays what-aboutism. vaguely admitting that she's not perfect is not the same as being critical of her. move on from this generic racist white woman and find somebody else to put your energy towards

instead of saying "not reading that" to anything you assume you'll disagree with, i encourage you to actually look at the carrd because it addresses most of the things in that thread! i am in no way a "lynz dickrider", just don't like the amount of misinformation and lies spread in the mcr fandom.

as for the points in that thread that aren't addressed on the website:

the inappropriate comments to minors one has no proof, but assuming it is true: that is gross. i will not defend that, but it seems like the sort of shock-humor she has outgrown as she's matured and as culture has shifted. there is no excuse for that behavior, but it is clearly something of the past.

i have no desire to defend or explain anything chantal has said or done. in that specific case she was spewing classic millennial liberal rhetoric, and it is not surprising that a mid-40s white woman (lindsey) wouldn't see much of a problem with that stance despite not fully agreeing herself. if mikey being married to someone with occasional conservative/maga views doesn't warrant mass-harassment or "cancellation", i don't see why this would warrant that for lindsey.

an abuse victim following an "anti-narcissist abuse" account without fully understanding the ableist nature of what that implies wouldn't surprise me at all if it was a young person, so it especially doesn't surprise me that a decently offline gen x woman would. this reminds me of the situation where frank made jokes about lizard people in the government and people got upset with him because of that conspiracy's antisemitic origins. it's unlikely that either of them actually had ill-will towards mentally ill or jewish people, they're just middle-aged and don't know that context.

further context of her wearing a shirt of a band with nazi-ties: after people began commenting and explaining that the band was problematic, she took down the post. of course we don't actually know her thoughts, but i feel the logical assumption here is she wasn't aware the band was problematic. there is a large chance she was just a casual listener and never looked into their political views, and there's also a chance she just thought it was a cool band tee and didn't even listen to them in the first place.
