Second and foremost, this is a Voltron (oldtron not Vee El Dee) centric blog. I’ll probably post one off tidbits from other fandoms but if I’m going to go out on a full on hyperfixiation rampage, I’ll take it to my sideblog (@flion) or to another site.
Third and foremost, this blog is a little dead. Usually because I’m cycling through hyperfixiations which aren’t Voltron.

This is a chapter release in the Telebiland magazine back in 1981 depicting an alternate scene of Shirogane’s death. I’ve found bits and pieces of the original Golion manga from different blogs and twitter profiles but this is the first time I’ve found a fully intact chapter.

i did not post a single voltron art here in the whole of 2023 but i posted 2022's boiga redraw so screw it. boiga redraw redraw
got end of school exams comin up but i'm hoping to rewatch oldtron (at least one of 'em) sometime this year and maybe even (gasp) make some posts (gasp) that are related to that (especially since i think i have changed quite a lot in my absence)
You are allowed to make mistakes, genuinely. You are allowed to try something new, and it's okay if it doesn't work out.
This is going to sound bizarre, but it's okay to suck. It's okay to try your hands at a new genre, or just writing in general, and fail miserably.
Not just because writing in on itself can be taxing, but because it's art. It's built on creativity. You are allowed to create, and you are allowed to challenge yourself. You will never know everything, but you will keep learning, and your art will continue to improve for as long as you write.

That quote is amazing to me in that it’s quoted completely accurately and yet in a way that means something completely different from what it meant in context.
(Sartre was claiming that Hell was other people. He was not claiming that other people were hell.)
The line comes from No Exit, which is set in Hell. Spoilers for No Exit follow
In particular, three people who have been condemned to hell are trapped eternally in a room together. And at first they think they got off easy without any pitchforks or fiery lakes or anything. But over the course of the play they discover that they have been chosen very specifically to have neuroses and character flaws that interact with and torment each other.
Each one needs the approval of a second in an unstable RPS cycle so that any time one of them might be satisfied by a second, the third swoops in and ruins it.
And when they figure this out, one of the characters expresses his understanding, that hell isn’t physical torture. “Hell is just—other people.”
So the point isn’t that other people, generically, are hellish; it’s rather that you can build a hell out of other people.
But when I hear people quote it, it’s usually sort of an introvert-pride thing. “Other people are hell; you should spend time alone.” And that’s not the point at all. It’s a statement about how bad unhealthy relationships can be, not a statement about how all relationships are unhealthy!

It has been thought that what I meant by that was that our relations with other people are always poisoned, that they are invariably hellish relations. But what I really mean is something totally different. I mean that if relations with someone else are twisted, vitiated, then that other person can only be hell.
