Liquid Church Promotes Spiritual Growth through Life Groups

Based in New Jersey, Liquid Church offers its congregation the opportunity to attend services at any of its four NJ locations or online via interactive, streamed video services. In order to promote spiritual growth among its congregation, Liquid Church facilitates Life Groups led by church members gathering smaller groups of 6-12 people on a regular basis. Life Groups consist of small groups of people who pursue spiritual growth by forming a closer connection with God, deepening friendships with peers, and extending aid to those in need. Although the specific details of Life Group meetings may vary by group, typical meetings last between one and two hours and include time for conversation, study, and prayer. Many of the Life Groups begin with studies that correspond to Liquid Church’s weekly Sunday messages. Others will choose their own study topics. In addition to study and prayer, Life Groups often participate in the church’s various outreach initiatives or serve their community in another way. Church-sponsored initiatives include assisting partnered organizations and raising donations for Clean Water Trips to Nicaragua. Those who wish to participate in a Life Group may choose to join an already established group or form their own after completing a Life Group New Leader Training event. Housing Vouchers Help New Jersey AIDS Services Offer Permanent Housing

Established in 2007, Liquid Church works to take the church to the people and serves its congregation through four meeting locations across New Jersey. All Liquid Church campuses regularly engage with various local nonprofit organizations, including New Jersey AIDS Services (NJAS), which recently expanded its residential housing program to include permanent housing services. The permanent housing program instituted by NJAS is designed for individuals diagnosed with AIDS who are prepared to maintain permanent housing after a period of homelessness. It provides aid through three supportive housing programs that provide the organization with the proper finances and resources. These programs consist of a series of housing vouchers awarded to NJAS in 2004: the Housing Opportunities for People With AIDS (HOPWA), the State Rental Assistance Program (SRAP), and Shelter + Care Housing vouchers. Each of the vouchers work in conjunction with one another to help residents obtain affordable housing in Morris County and access supportive services. HOPWA vouchers enable the organization to offer rental assistance to three individuals with AIDS at a time, while the Shelter + Care program is capable of serving six transitional housing graduates during their transition to permanent housing. SRAP vouchers expand upon the Shelter + Care by increasing the number of individuals served to 16 persons over a period of five years. Through the programs, residents are responsible for using 30 percent of their income towards rent; the vouchers then cover the remaining balance.

Liquid Church Serves New Jersey Youth through Three Programs

Founded by lead pastor Tim Lucas in 2001, Liquid Church meets in several locations throughout New Jersey (NJ). Its four locations are connected through a series of programs and services offered at all campuses, including youth programs. Liquid Church offers programs for youths in three distinctive age groups: young children, preteens, and teenagers. Liquid Kids invites children, aged from infancy to eighth grade, to learn about God through storytelling, drama, and music. The program offers simple weekly lessons for toddlers and younger children to engage in at home with guardians and an elementary-level ministry that focuses on a different issue each month. In addition, families with special needs can request their child receive an aide or buddy to assist them. The Middle School program welcomes students in fifth through eighth grade to learn about Christian values through discussion groups, inspirational speakers, and interactive activities. Middle school students may also access online resources, such as weekly prayer sessions to share with parents and guardians. Prayer requests and discussions regarding everyday preteen challenges are things that the students experience regularly. Liquid High School provides teenagers with an opportunity to explore their faith while receiving support for the trials and challenges, including exclusion, judgment, and peer pressure. High school students may also join after-school life groups and participate in the High School Experience, a monthly gathering for students that offers a chance to worship and mingle with friends.

Key Elements of Many Contemporary Worship Services

Liquid Church is a contemporary Christian church with multiple locations in the New Jersey bedroom communities facing New York City. When attending Liquid Church, NJ attendees can expect a mix of uplifting music performed by the church’s live band an inspirational messages delivered by the teaching pastors and community relations with other people seeking to engage further with the teachings of the BIble. Liquid Church Supports Clean Water Effort

A growing Christian church with a congregation of over 3,500 attendees, Liquid Church gathers at several New Jersey campuses. Pastor Tim Lucas launched Liquid Church in 2007 in Morristown, NJ, where it received recognition for its clean water efforts in Africa, an initiative it continues to promote and provide for. In poorer countries, clean water is a luxury not accessible to all. Statistics indicate that approximately 800 million people worldwide lack access to clean water, leaving them to consume dirty water containing possible harmful bacteria and contaminants. Harmful entities in dirty water cause roughly 80 percent of all illnesses and result in the death of more people per year than war or other violence. Liquid Church’s efforts to provide clean water to underserved communities began locally the year after its launch. In 2009, it began one of its biggest projects to date: providing necessary funds for the drilling of clean water wells throughout Africa. In order to raise awareness about clean water scarcity in Africa and other places throughout the world, the church holds several fundraising events, including the Rock and Run for Africa 5K and the Super Hero 5K. In addition, it hosts and helps other organizations conduct ongoing campaigns called the Dirty Water Challenge to support sanitation, hygiene, and water well drilling initiatives in Africa and Central America. The challenge involves a process intended to help donors appreciate the access to clean water and help fund projects. In order to participate, challenge-takers drink only water for a three-week period and place money that would otherwise be spent on sodas, juices, and other beverages into a bottle designated the Dirty Water Bottle. At the end of the three weeks, they donate saved money in the bottle to the church’s Clean Water projects. IHN Afterschool Program: Curbing the Effects of Childhood Homelessness

Liquid Church is a nondenominational Christian church based in New Jersey with a focus on bringing church to the people. The multi-site church offers childrens programs from birth to high school. Liquid Church Members Renovate St. Clare’s Homes for Children

Since 2001, Liquid Church has brought together individuals throughout New Jersey to help people take their next step in their relationship with Jesus Christ. Led by Lead Pastor Tim Lucas, Liquid Church of NJ continues to make community involvement and service to local organizations such as St. Clare‘s Homes for Children a priority. St. Clare’s Homes for Children was the first state-designated pediatric community transitional home, as well as the first in the nation to provide care for HIV-positive infants. Designed to provide medically vulnerable children with a loving, home-like environment outside of the hospital, St. Clare’s serves as an essential bridge to help children recover through the process of finding a permanent home. In order to help the facilities continue to provide holistic care through housing, nutritional, and developmental support, Liquid Church sponsored a 24-hour Thanksgiving season facelift recently. Hundreds of volunteers gathered to provide bedrooms, offices, and meeting places with a fresh look and help children with a fresh start. St. Clare’s Homes for Children currently operates three transitional living homes throughout the state of New Jersey. Small Groups Offer Many Benefits to Churches

Liquid Church is a dynamic spiritual Christian community which meets in several New Jersey locations. In addition to offering regular worship services, Liquid Church provides opportunities for its NJ-area members to connect with others in small groups, called life groups. Life groups allow members to deepen their spiritual growth by developing close relationships with other members and following designated study curriculum to promote discussion and learning. Liquid Church Online

Liquid Church was founded in 2001 to “take church to the people.” In addition to holding services at its four New Jersey campuses and at neutral venues such as city-center hotels centers and schools, Liquid Church offers five weekly Church Online worship services. These online services are particularly beneficial to members of the NJ-based church who are unable to physically attend services. Liquid Church’s five weekly Church Online worship services are hosted on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Moderated by trained volunteers and ministry leaders, these Church Online sermon experiences provide listeners around the world with the same sermon experience enjoyed by church-goers every weekend. The Three Core Values of Liquid Church

Liquid Church services are attended by approximately 3,000 New Jersey residents every weekend. Attendance is expected to grow as the church has recently opened a fourth location in Mountainside, NJ. Services often focus on the three core values of Liquid Church. About Liquid Church

In October 2013, Liquid Church opened a fourth campus in Mountainside, NJ. As one of New Jersey’s fastest growing Christian churches, Liquid Church also has locations in Nutley, New Brunswick, and Morristown. Located at 214 Central Avenue, the new Mountainside campus is led by Pastor Mike Leahy and Pastor Richard Lee, who make themselves available to the public by appointment. The church currently offers four worship services on Sunday, beginning at 9 a.m. The first service of the day is followed by an 11 a.m. service, a 4 p.m. service, and finally by an evening service at 6 p.m.  Children ranging from infancy to the fifth-grade level can join the church’s Liquid Kids program, which uses storytelling, music, and drama to teach children about God’s love. Children in sixth, seventh, and eighth grades can attend the Middle School program, which meets during the 9 a.m., 11 a.m., and 4 p.m. services and features inspirational speakers, small group discussions, and games. High school students are encouraged to join the adults during one of the main services on Sunday. And Life Grouos for high school students meet during the week. Christian Organization Hosted Event for Children

According to Liquid Church's lead pastor, the New Jersey Christian church is dedicated to giving children and their loved ones the opportunity to enjoy themselves in a welcoming and safe environment. This year, Liquid Church planned and executed the Winter Carnival for Special Needs Children event in Mountainside, New Jersey. The recent Winter Carnival for Special Needs Children provided games and other entertainment for more than 60 families, including those affiliated with the Children's Specialized Hospital. In preparation for the event, more than 250 volunteers were gathered to decorate the L'Affaire Fine Catering hall in a way befitting a seasonal carnival. Moreover, the volunteers helped families by guiding them and by supporting children as they participated in various fun-filled activities. Great efforts were taken to provide a sense-friendly occasion by offering noise cancelling headphones and a space where children could relax away from the excitement. This is an example of the many community outreach programs that church volunteers participate in on a regular basis.

Family Ministries Launches Small Groups at Liquid Church

A New Jersey-based Christian organization with locations throughout the state, Liquid Church recently opened a new campus in Mountainside, NJ. Liquid Church’s unique Family Ministries department coordinates various events for members of the congregation, their children, and local students. Family Ministries recently established Small Groups for the children who attend Liquid Church. Throughout the calendar year, a number of events are put on for Small Groups members and their families. For instance, Small Groups hosts outdoor movie nights at which picnic blankets are provided, food is served, and sporting activities like Frisbee are enjoyed. Small Groups also participates in Liquid Kids Live, which brings characters from the Bible to life to teach children in an exciting, celebratory way.  This November, Small Groups will be hosting the Parent and Small Group Leader Breakfast. At this event, parents will be given an opportunity to interact more closely with the group leaders who work with their children.

Hurricane Sandy and Its Impact on New Jersey

Following the devastation wrought by Hurricane Sandy, Liquid Church, a non-denominational Christian church operating out of New Jersey, assisted those affected by the storm by preparing and delivering Thanksgiving dinners. In addition to its food donations, Liquid Church called for volunteers to help people clean out severely damaged homes.  Hurricane Sandy caused catastrophic damage throughout the State of New Jersey, and individuals impacted by the superstorm required substantial assistance. According to some estimates, NJ suffered many billions of dollars in economic losses, and the loss of property in the state has reduced tax revenue, forcing municipalities to cut services. In total, Sandy leveled roughly hundreds of houses and caused $75 billion worth of property damage. The only storm that compares to Hurricane Sandy in terms of overall cost is Hurricane Katrina, which wreaked havoc on New Orleans. Churches like Liquid Church continue to fill the gaps where government and social service organizations aren't able to meet the needs of those in the most dire circumstances.

Liquid Church Reaches Out to Underserved Communities

Almost 3,000 New Jersey residents attend Liquid Church worship services every weekend, and Christians all over the world join together through Church Online. Liquid Church also reaches out to its global congregation through its active Facebook and Twitter presence, and to its local community through on-the-ground efforts at building better infrastructure to support people in need. Recently, church leaders and members implemented a multi-city community service response to meet the needs of underserved populations, including people living with HIV/AIDS. Following a recommendation from New Jersey AIDS services, volunteers assisted in the renovation of the Eric Johnson House, a $20,000 project that included re-carpeting and re-upholstering, installing new appliances and furniture, and repainting. Other recent projects include a much-needed makeover at Elijah’s Promise Soup Kitchen, and collaborations with an American Red Cross food bank and various home and school sites in Nutley, New Jersey.

Serving Thanksgiving Dinner to Super Storm Sandy Victims

With a rapidly expanding Christian congregation, Liquid Church holds weekly services for more than 2,500 worshipers at its four New Jersey campuses in New Brunswick, Nutley, Mountainside and Morristown. Outside of NJ, Liquid Church visitors have the opportunity to worship online with a global community every week in Church Online. The church’s core Christian beliefs include following Jesus Christ. In the 2012 aftermath of super storm Sandy, local New Jersey churches and social service agencies reached out to neighbors at Thanksgiving. Volunteers from Liquid Church prepared, delivered, and hosted Thanksgiving dinners for hundreds of people crippled by loss of home and electrical power. On November 22 and 23, volunteers used three church locations as distribution centers. Families received completely prepared holiday meals along with jugs of water and canned goods collected during Sunday services at Liquid Church's New Jersey church locations. In addition to food and water, volunteers helped clean up and clear out homes destroyed by the massive storm.

Bringing Clean Water to Those Who Need It Most

Committed to traditional Christian beliefs, Liquid Church in New Jersey operates campuses in Nutley, New Brunswick, Mountainside and Morristown. Founded by lead pastor Tim Lucas in 2001, Liquid Church serves people across New Jersey, on the Internet, and through nonprofit projects around the globe through Liquid Water. Liquid Water provides ways for people to help make clean water and its positive health-related impact available to those who need it desperately. Roughly 800 million of the world’s citizens live without clean water. These individuals risk death in staggering numbers. Every year, negative health consequences of clean water scarcity take more lives than all types of violence. The Liquid Water campaign offers a solution. In areas like the developing nation of Ethiopia, inhabitants live above aquifers, a rich source of clean water, but lack resources to build wells. Donations to clean water projects in remote villages in Central America and in Africa cover the average cost of $5,000 to drill a well. One well can serve a village of 400 people for 20 years. New projects are being planned in the country of Nicaragua. Over $100,000 was recently donated to clean water implementation partner organizations who are focusing efforts on the country for comprehensive clean water solutions in 2014 and 2015.
