Frida lead a fascinating life, look her up if you haven't heard of her. ••• Following her divorce from fellow artist Diego Rivera, Frida Kahlo cut her long hair; she records this gesture here, chronicling herself amid a mess of tendrils, scissors in hand. Inscribed at the top of the composition, are lyrics to a Mexican song – ‘Look, if I loved you it was because of your hair. Now that you are without hair, I don’t love you anymore’.
