Ariana Grande’s Midsommar-themed birthday party, 26 June 2020.
My therapist asked me to create something “motivating” so I made these.
lol.
I really love these, and I reblog them every single time. Some of you don’t realize how easy it’s to forget to do some of those stuff or how hard they can be some days.
Just like this
mood for the past two weeks
Big mood
School: we're continuing all classes online!
My ADHD brain: oh so what you're saying is Time doesn't exist, Sleep Schedules are no longer apparent, and The Classes may still exist but only as a strange distant entity that I can no longer interact with in any meaningful way
Okay, but imagine you're the teacher. That's my life rn
quarantine feels kinda like that area between christmas and new years where i have no idea what day of the week it is, or if i’m supposed to be going to work. AM and PM blend together. i’ve taken four naps in 10 hours. leftovers are my primary foodsource. got that weird sunday anxiety except it’s every day for the next 2 weeks
Very important
she always wants more.
The US government blocked a bill providing 14 days of paid sick leave for employees due to coronavirus.
Want to know the reason for blocking it? It would put a strain on employers. The capitalist class will always prioritize their well-being over their less wealthy fellow humans, and this is yet another example.
Profit-motivated approaches to health crises treat human life as part of a cost-benefit analysis, and capitalism is the new divine right of kings: Some people, due to their supposed rightful social status, deserve to live above all others.
By the way, the 14 days of paid sick leave, according to the bill, only has to happen during public health emergencies.
So not only is it just 14 days, it isn’t even a regular occurrence. Still rejected.
Imo it’s key to note this bill was proposed by Democrats and blocked by a Republican Senator (Lamar Alexander, who should be coughed on). Though it was weak, it still would’ve been helpful. There’s a distinct pattern here. Our chances of seeing even half-measures passed depend on who controls Congress. Prosocial domestic legislation, even at its meekest and most limited, is blocked by Republicans on a regular basis.
Fourteen days of paid annual sick time should be a bare minimum under normal circumstances, yet that can’t even come up for a real debate unless Democrats control the House and Senate at once. The domestic policy proposals popular on here—Medicare for All, free college and student loan reprieves, all that stuff—are a complete fantasy so long as beyond-evil freaks who will block milquetoast pandemic responses keep getting voted into office.
