The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society

  By Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows.

 I love this book, and it is a great to read on holiday, or to spend an afternoon curled up with.

  It's written as a series of letters between Juliet Ashton, a journalist, and the people of the island of Guernsey. The society was created as a front under German occupation, and Juliet soon learns that the society is every bit as extraordinary as it's name.

I found it an interesting and fun read, and it inspired me to find a pen pal of my own! The two main characters bond over a love of literature, which is what the bookblr community is all about, so you could say it is a tale of book bloggers before computers existed.
