cabaret transforms you, as an audience member, into a complicit individual in 1930s berlin. we come to the theatre to escape from the world around us; we come to the cabaret. we are invited into and immersed in a world of vibrant expression, open sexuality, and decadent performance. lost in this allure and illusion, by the time the fascist regime is right in front of our faces, it is too late for all of us. it is already here. chilling is not even the word.
