RETURN
It’s been 577 days since I said I was going to start updating my blog more regularly, after a large sparseness in presence and content.
I’ve only managed to post a few bits and bobs. Not even a handful. However many posts you may be able to hold in your hands.
But recently, in fact, in the past week or so, I’ve been building a website. I felt it was time. - As I make artists applications for funding and residencies, it seems apt.
And for some reason, I still felt - despite my lack of Tumblr usage - that I should link to my blog.
I really ought to maintain it better see. If it’s linkable too.
And I suppose it has given me the impetus to post this and to think of posting things as I collate images I’ve taken. - So it’s been a round about sort of a push, but I’m returning to my Tumblr to shower it with love and affection; or, at the very least, to post some nonsense a little more regularly.
My website; fresh and sort of shiny is beccaalclark.co.uk
Any feedback from real website wizards would be nice. Jus'sayin.
And if you feel like actual regular updates, my Instagram has become a more daily blog. I’m @LITTLE_ODDITIES over there, if you fancy it. It is also linkable to from my website.

What I had to say to you, moreover, would not take long, to wit: Practice any art, music, singing, dancing, acting, drawing, painting, sculpting, poetry, fiction, essays, reportage, no matter how well or badly, not to get money and fame, but to experience BECOMING, to find out what’s inside you, to MAKE YOUR SOUL GROW.
Advice from 84-year-old Kurt Vonnegut's lovely letter to a high school class, a sentiment Milton Glaser recently echoed equally beautifully – a wonderful addition to history’s best meditations on the purpose of art and the notion of art as self-discovery.
Complement with Vonnegut on falling in love and his charming daily routine.

Sometimes at work I get to run the Art Cart, which ties in with the exhibition running, to allow kids to interact with the work on show in a way that means they can make a lot of inky papery goodness!
Today was a good day with a friends kid coming down to look at the new Hiraki Sawa show thats on. We chatted stars and planes, made some paper ones and then drew (for un exhibitiony purposes) some hand faces! This is the remnants of mine at the end of the day!

Just watched this guy on the iPlayer.
It was enjoyable to think that folk, and film makers in particular, were paid to go and shoot film, just because! However, as insightful as these short films were and to see the footage captured, the voice over self profession of how dandy the British are (were?) was a bit much.
Would like to see how the Queen's Chilean tree is doing! (justsoundabitempiretome)
I keep having real dry spells on my Tumblr, sorry everybody. However, Ive just had a mammoth wee while of doing all sorts of bits, so my Tumblr creativity updatey need has returned! (justunleashingtheupdates)
Congratulations to Chris Pig, tutor here at ELP, for getting selected to be part of Parallel Prints - his work will be travelling around the Uk, to New Zealand and then back in time for Impact in Dundee at the end of August.
Chris was elected to the Society of Wood Engravers in 2012. Look out for his work at the Bankside Gallery.

Flying totally under my radar until just now, I’m thrilled to discover ELP two weeks before going to London for a couple of weeks! With a vast archive of yet to be posted stuff about my time in the US it just makes sense to add an equally big folder of photos and scribbled down notes about the printmaking scene in the UK. SAYING: if you’re from the UK, get in touch - follower-wise BHP is off the Pokedex Scale (649+), so maybe not everyone is from the States?
Aaanyway, I’m enjoying the ELP vibe, see here or here for instance. Gogogo follow, and link me up with more London-based printing tumblrs?

Construction timelapse of the amazing, elaborate papercraft diorama for The New York Public Library celebrating some of my favorite books. Many more close-up photos and the story on the project here.
This is lovely.
