I haven’t really seen anyone talk about why Ein is the way he is in a while. Or at least go into depth about why. Sometimes I see it on TikTok, but I haven’t been on there on months and people can be quite rude on there. So here’s my take [this is only a small portion of what I actually think, so that’s why there’s not much here, if this gets enough attention then I’ll make another post].
• I think people sometimes forget that children are the products of their environment. Ein’s thoughts had to be influenced somehow and by someone. For example, he has a really twisted concept about humans. It comes off as him being racist in a way. Especially when he says this:
"You humans... you have always been getting in our way. Holding us back, trying to keep us civil and organized so you can keep your peace. Keeping us from being what we were meant to be."
And he also seems to dislike the Meif’wa species as well, which may have been influenced by other werewolf adults around him. I don’t believe he was just "born evil". I hate it when creators of characters do that. Zack just up and leaving him probably messed him up even more as well. It was definitely a really awful thing to do on Zack’s part, considering Ein probably didn’t have many good adult figures in his life, let’s not forget that he was still probably quite young when Zack left. It’s like what Zack did with Aphmau. He left her and although Sylvanna did kick him out because of his "affair" with Ein’s mother, he didn’t try to explain what he was actually doing at all. It’s safe to say, Zack is not a good father. And I don’t doubt he probably wasn’t the best father-figure to Ein either but him just up and leaving probably messed Ein up quite a bit. Ein also attending an all-werewolf school probably didn’t help either and after becoming the Omega that probably just made him even worse. Because as we all know, Omegas are greatly disliked and bullied.
And while I am not trying to excuse any of Ein’s actions I do think it’s important to understand why he is the way he is. He was not born evil. A lot of people who don’t like Ein usually call people who sympathise with him "weirdos". If you’re one of those people, some of them actually may sympathise with him because of his background and upbringing. However I do understand that some others who sympathise with Ein simply do it just because of how much they love him and because they feel sorry for him (most of the time those people tend to forget all of his wrongdoings and ignore how bad of a person he is). You don’t have to just love or hate a character. You can like them and dislike them. If you excuse Ein’s actions then your opinions about him immediately become invalid. Just like if you don’t care about his background or at least try to understand it, then your points immediately become invalid. Using the excuse of him being born evil is not a good reason for why you don’t like him and using the excuse of how he was treated (as a teenager) is not a good reason for why you like him. Excusing all of what he did as an adult is not a good idea, when you’re an adult, you should know better. And that goes for him as a teenager as well. Let’s be real here, he was using Aphmau. He didn’t truly love her or like her. He intentionally stole her phone and then lied about not having it, and when he had her phone he texted Aaron extremely horrible messages which he knew would ruin their friendship. And if you say that he loved her then you’re wrong, he was using her because she was the female Alpha and he wanted to be the male Alpha. If he was friends with her and even had a relationship with her he would gain more power. And If he became the male Alpha (which was exactly what he wanted from the beginning) he would gain more respect and power over the werewolves, mainly the weaker ones who couldn’t fight back against him. He liked to target weaker werewolves and this is shown when he makes Daniel the omega knowing that he wouldn’t be able to fight back. Why didn’t he make someone like Blaze the omega? Because Blaze is strong and knows how to fight back which is something Ein hates.
Like I said in the beginning of this post this is only a small portion of what I think. I’ll go into more detail about his upbringing if this gets enough attention! I understand that this is quite disorganised and I do apologise but this is mainly just a test to see how much attention this’ll gain and if I can make another one based on how much attention it gets.
Thanks for reading ♥︎. And if you disagree with me a lot then I completely get why, this definitely isn’t the best I could do. But like I said before: I’ll go into more detail based on how much attention it gets!
