Intent Never Makes a Sound || Jason and Beth
"Yeah? You look a little burnt." he teased her and poked her thigh. Jason laughed and he smiled at her. "Hey your brought the popcorn and you have to share!" He laughed and smiled at her. He wrapped his arm around her and shrugged. "I dont know. But I love bonfires." he smiled.Â
Beth and him always agreed that bonfires were a lot of fun at camp. Being attached at the hip every summer the bonfires they spent together was extremely fun. Being attached at the hip this summer was no exception. They hung out a lot and Jason was beginning to get over his feelings for Gia. He knew he should tell Beth that soon.Â
"Hey now!" Beth swatted Jason's hand away playfully. "Sadly, I'm still as pale as ever." She sighed. "At least I'll be safe from skin cancer." The blonde felt comfortable as Jason's arm rested on the crook of her neck. "Me too." She smiled, thinking about the good memories.Â
She leaned back on the bed, her legs hanging off the side, forcing Jason to lean back with her since his arm was still around her. Beth was wondering if she should tell Jason that she talked to Gia, even though he had told her not to. Well, what did he expect anyways? Even though Gia wouldn't let up on her feeling too much, Beth assumed Jason didn't know about Danny. She still wasn't even sure of her own feeling for him, either. Beth let out a sigh. "So Jay," she paused. "I talked to a certain pudding-loving brunette the other day."
Intent Never Makes a Sound || Jason and Beth
Jason knew he had offered Beth to stay the night before but he didn't actually think she would act on it. But he didn't mind when she showed up to his cabin late at night. Way after you were supposed to have company. He smiled at the girl when she came inside.Â
Jason was just sitting on his bed and flipping through the channels of the tv. Only the camp counselors got tvs in their room. But he didnt watch it too often. Only later at night when he was going to bed. “Hey. Not much. How are you?” he asked as he took some of the popcorn from her that she had brought.Â
Beth settled in to his bed. She leaned back on her arms. "I'm good. I've just been relaxing all day. Got a little bit of a tan." Even though Beth couldn't tan, she liked to try. "What about you?" She looked to Jason, wondering what he had been doing.Â
"Hey that's my popcorn!" Beth jokingly swatted Jason's hand away. A thought came to her head. "When's the next bon fire?" she asked, wondering. Those were always so fun and there hadn't been one yet. "Remember those?"
Intent Never Makes a Sound || Jason and Beth
Like always, Beth was walking over to Jason's cabin. She decided she would spend the night this evening. Her cabin mates were no where to be found and Beth was finding it a bit odd. She walked on, already in her pajamas, some shorts, a tank top, and her favorite robe. The smell of popcorn wafted through the air from the bag Beth had picked up from the rec room on her way over.Â
Popping a piece into her mouth, Beth knocked on Jason's door before letting herself in. "Hey," she smiled her signature toothy Beth Davis grin. She plopped herself on his bed, offering the other blonde some popcorn. She looked around, realizing she was in a predicament. Beth would be sleeping on the floor tonight. She shrugged it off, not caring. "What's new?"
What a Coincidence || Beth and Gia
"You’re so lucky no one uses you," Gia said.  She bit her lip.  "Starting to regret this summer.  I’m just gonna be miserable.  He’s gonna do everything possible to upset me.  But nothing’ll change."  She bit her lip again.  "I hate this."
Gia stopped eating her pudding as loss of appetite settled in her stomach. She wasn’t happy at all.  She slid her chair back.  ”I’m not feeling very well,” she said.Â
Beth laughed awkwardly and rolled her eyes, smiling. "Yeah I guess I am." To be honest, beth probably wouldn't even know if someone was using her. She gave Gia a reassuring smile. "This summer will be great. Don't worry. Don't let him get to you."
"It might be all that pudding you at," she said, half joking. Her expression turned to worry when Gia pushed back in her chair. "Are you going to throw up?"
What a Coincidence || Beth and Gia
"Danny?" Gia asked.  "Danny’s 18.  Two years apart."  Gia wasn’t happy to see the texts from Danny.  She wanted to see him for one reason — to tell him he’s a douche and that she hopes some girl hurts him someday the way he hurt her.  In the back of her mind, she was nervous to see him.  She was nervous he’d charm her into forgiving him. Â
"Yeah, he’s on his way," Gia said, rolling her eyes.  "He should’ve just stayed in New York."  Gia set the phone down, unhappy with the situation coming her way.  She just wanted to move on.
Beth could notice that Gia was becoming a bit frustrated with the whole Danny situation. She couldn't help but feel bad for the girl. Beth definitely knew that Danny was a douche from years past, but Gia was so young. It just made her dislike him more for doing that to her.Â
"I'll punch him in the face when he gets here don't you worry," Beth gave Gia a kind smile. She looked through the door when she thought she saw Jason come in. It wasn't him. Beth let out a sigh of relief. He would grow suspicious of her if he saw her sitting with Gia.Â
I have popcorn..
Of course!
Yay!
yeah I know.Â
So I woke up really early this morning to swim. Worst decision I've ever made. It was so cold.
I have popcorn..
Are you telling me this because you're going to share?
Can I just lay in bed for a little bit longerrr?
I wish I actually had a reason to be exhausted though. I’m just lazy.Â
I can never get a really good sleep around here. At home I have my own room so I'm used to peace and quiet at night. Plus, my roommate insists on having a night light.Â
I have the bestest friend ever. Love you Beth for buying me ice cream.Â
That's what bestest friends are for, weirdo.Â
What a Coincidence || Beth and Gia
"Yeah that’s what I thought last year," Gia said.  "My mind has totally changed since then."  She bit her lip and then yawned.  She shrugged.  "If anything meant anything to him he would’ve texted me.  With communication and trust, long distance could’ve worked.  But he’s a scumbag, so," Gia sighed, eating more pudding.  The second text alert went off and the screen lit up again.  Gia bit her lip, reading the text.
"Nope, haven’t seen him yet," Gianna answered.  "It looks like I will be soon, though," she added, setting her phone down on the table as she locked it and the screen went black yet again. Â
"How old is he?" Beth asked. She knew Jason was older than Gia by a lot, so she wondered what they age difference between her and Danny was. The blonde watched Gia's face as she read her text, looking for signs showing what she felt.Â
Beth looked to Gia. "Did he text you?" she asked, already knowing the answer. "Is he here?" Danny being here could not be good for Jason if he wanted a chance at being with Gia. It would already be hard enough for him.Â
What a Coincidence || Beth and Gia
"Ugh, I need more pudding.  I’ll be right back."  Gia slid her chair back and set her phone down on the table, locking it.  She headed back to get more pudding and the phone buzzed on the table with a text.  Gia’s text had previews on the lock screen.  It was a text from Danny.  It read: "Hey Gianna. I’m heading up to camp today. See you soon." Beth had the chance to read it without even trying.  Whether she chose to or not, Gia wouldn’t know.
Gia returned a while later, having bumped into someone at the dessert bar.  She had an enormous bowl of pudding that she intended on finishing every last bit of.  ”Yeah, Danny Warner.  Bright blue eyes, light brown hair — dirty blonde, I guess that’s the color at least?”  Gia chuckled.  ”He’s such a douche.  I need a nice guy instead of some loser that’s a liar.” Gia spooned more pudding.  ”I could live off this shit,” she said spooning more pudding into her mouth.
A phone buzzed somewhere around Beth. Gia's phone was right in front of her, with the screen lit up. The blonde swiveled her head to look for Gia. She was busy getting more pudding and seemed like she wouldn't notice if Beth checked the text. She wasn't a nosy person, but the name Danny caught her eye. Beth tried to read the text upside down, but couldn't get more than a few words before the screen went black. She didn't want to pry anymore, so Beth let it be.Â
"They're are a bunch of nice guys at camp," Beth offered. "Plus, if anything got serious, I think a long distance relationship would be hard to maintain. I'm sure most people are just looking for something fun for the summer." She shrugged, being honest. She had never really thought about it before, but that did seem true. Beth laughed as Gia spooned more pudding into her mouth. "I can tell," she said, not trying to be mean, but jokingly. "So you haven't seen him yet?"
What a Coincidence || Beth and Gia
"Not in a bad way, though.  It’s a funny dorky, not the creepy average high-school bookworm nerd dork.  Just in the cheesy way.  You get what I mean?" Gia asked. Gia yawned, scooping more pudding into her mouth.
"Was looking to see if Danny’s shown up," Gia said.  "He was the kid I was with last summer.  Never texted or called after camp ended.  So I wanna tell him he’s a jackass. Just some last things to get off my chest.  I wanna just move forward."  She looked back from the door to Beth.  "Ya know?"
"Yeah I get what you mean." Beth smiled, replying to Gia. She watched in awe as the girl filled her mouth with more pudding. How could see fit so much in such a tiny body? Beth was getting sick even thinking about it. She was already so full from dinner.Â
Beth raised a brow carefully. "Danny?" She recalled his name coming up last summer. She didn't know he had a thing with Gia. She didn't think Jason knew either. He was a player and had had his hand with most of the girls around camp. Beth had never been too fond of him. The blonde nodded her head as Gia spoke. "I'll back you on that one." She laughed. beth couldn't help, but notice when Gia said she wanted to move on. That would be the perfect opportunity for Jason to move in. Beth bit her lip. She wasn't sure if she should tell Jason all of the information she just learned or not.Â
