The best chicken pot pie I’ve ever had. Bon Appetit’s Skillet Chicken Pot Pie with Butternut Squash. I doubled the recipe, added carrots, mushrooms and peas and baked it in a 12″ cast iron skillet.

Bon Appetit’s Green Minestrone Soup
The second the warm weather rolls in, this is what I crave. Burrito and heirlooms, garlic and lemon shrimp and blanched asparagus with lemon olive oil.
This yellow split pea soup is so delicious and super easy to make. Sauté a leek, half an onion, thyme, celery, and a carrot. Once soft, add peas and 6 cups stock. Pop in a bay leaf and simmer until peas are super soft. Puree and top with croutons and lemon olive oil. I cut up some olive bread and toasted them in the oven for a few. Simple. Healthy. Delicious.
Roasted Rabbit with Olives and Feta from The New York Times. Super delicious and easy to cook. If you have never butchered a rabbit before, I watched this YouTube video, which really "broke it down" for me.
First attempt at making gnocchi. I used this Classic Gnocchi recipe from Food 52 and they actually came out perfectly. The taste, that is, not the shape.
Food 52's Pistachio Cake with Meyer Lemon, Cardamom and Rosewater. I bought the heart shaped cake pan from Whisk in Brooklyn and the card from Pink Olive in the East Village.
No recipe for this guy. Just melted some 50% bitter chocolate with a bit of shortening and got the party started.
Roast Chicken with Herb Butter from Martha Stewart's "One Pot" Cookbook.
Martha Stewart's Individual Chicken Pot Pies. The store was out of puff pastry, so I bought phyllo dough. The extra flakiness was actually a welcomed mistake.
The New York Times' Red Lentil Soup (I used garam masala instead of cumin) and a quinoa bowl with roasted carrots, sautéed kale, chickpeas with Food 52's Lemon Tahini Dressing.
Bon Apetit's Baltimore-style Crab Crake with Cilantro Lime Aioli and Apple Slaw.
My little Costa Rican kitchen. Found some gorgeous avocados and my hotel, El Mangroove, provided me with everything I needed to make guacamole in my room.
New Years Eve. Roasted fingerling potatoes with creme fresh, black caviar and salmon roe.
Bon Appetit's Celery Root and Apple Soup with Chive Oil. One of my favorites. I eliminated the pancetta b/c I forgot it at the grocery store, so I had to.
The most gorgeous Red Sockeye Salmon from Iliamna Fish Co. and other snacks.
Spatchcocked Chicken with Herbs and Lemon from Martha Stewart's new cookbook "One Pot".
