On todays episode of people being bat shit crazy

Different provincial and municipal governments finding the hell out of people is going to work against them. Canada is a democracy and you cant police people I to obedience and invade their personal information.

A woman was fined for "disrespecting social distancing" because her friends drove to her house to sing happy birthday. Another woman was arrested for going out because she had covid 19, and they found this out by tracking her phone data. People are being fined right left and center for breaking rules we didnt even know existed or havent been explained properly.

If you over police citizens, you're only inviting defiance, not compliance. How many people experiencing covid19 symptoms are not going to get tested because they just found out the government is tracking them through their personal devices? I'm usually a pretty big fan of government intervention and have always thought we needed more resources going toward our healthcare but handing out fines to people who are already unemployed because of government mandated job shut downs? For walking their dogs through parks they didnt know were closed? Big yikes, and that's coming from someone who supports democratic socialism. What we seem to be heading toward is an authoritarian society where the government and police can do whatever they want in the name of the "greater good." There is a line, albeit a fine one, that shouldnt be crossed when it comes to individual freedom versus "greater good."

And the kicker is were not even benefiting from this crazy power bullshit. Our healthcare facilities are still overrun and under funded. They're taking volunteers who have some medical experience now to help out for free. If you're going to fine unemployed people for going outside at least give us a properly funded public health care system.

Yes social distancing is a "privilege." But that doesnt mean we can police people into obeying wishy washy "laws" that change every day.

Peoplle who shane bingers and overeaters for having no self control are completely stupid.

I did cocaine and had a binge eating issue (amongst a bunch of others) and drugs were easier to give up than sugars and fats so 🤷🏻‍♀️. In fact i had 0 issue giving up coke after deciding it was bad and dangerous but to this day, 6 years later, i still struggle with not eating myself into sickness after an emotional turn.
