What made you like Monsters Inc. and/or wish to work there, despite its strong connections with your father?
"Because I truly believe in what Sulley and Mike are doing here with laugh power," a tentacle or two hovered nervously in front of his chest, as while he believed in speaking from the heart(s), he knew perfectly well that some of his views were not exactly... 'popular'. And sometimes it could be hard to gauge how someone new would take, well, the way that Roger was so to speak.
"It's no coincidence, after all, that I only came back after..." Hesitating. "After my dad left." For lack of a better, albeit perhaps slightly less polite, term.
If it wasn't something he enjoyed thinking about, it certainly could be said that he didn't quite enjoy talking about it either. But the irony for a guy who spent so much of his life hiding who he was, was that Roger did value honestly.

The wereshark had been outside of his home— which he didn’t typically do unless only during uncontrollable bouts of cabin-fever. Even then, it meant a bee-line to the beach where he could stay hidden for the entire night and away from prying human eyes.
During one of said bee-lines, Bruce couldn’t have helped but pick up an entirely unfamiliar scent and catch sight of the most peculiar creature in the passing alley.
Oddly enough (of an already odd situation), the creature wasn’t frightened by the sight of Bruce. Before Bruce had even realized he’d spoken the words in his mind so tactlessly— ‘What are you?’— the wereshark felt his face flush with shame which, fortunately, would have been difficult to tell in the dark light. The wereshark cleared his throat and drew closer.
“A cross between a ferret and an octopus, I’d say,” Bruce said, letting an easygoing chuckle mask his prior faux pas.
Giggles spilled out of him, "Hee-hee! Well, I suppose I have been told I'm a bit squiddy!"
The nice things with monsters was, well, it was a bit hard to insult their appearance. Being strange or unsettling in appearance was the mark of an admirable monster. In a way, the scarier the better (of course, Roger personally had little interest in being particularly scary, himself, but that was a whole other topic for discussion).
It also lended to Roger's calm and upbeat demeanor upon meeting this stranger. In fact, this guy was so scary looking, Roger was sure he must be very popular where he's from!
"Ah, but where are my manners?" He extended a tentacle, his 'fingers' open for a handshake, should the stranger be so inclined for one, "Roger Rogers!" he greeted enthusiastically.

I did plan to get through what's left in the inbox here, I really did. But then a lot of things happened in my life and I'm... not doing okay, to say the very least.
So I apologize that finishing things up here has been waylaid for so long... but I'm afraid I'm still not really ready to get through what I need to here yet. I do still intend to when I can, though. I mean it. I want to finish things proper here, just needs to be when the time is right for it for me. And... I don't yet know when that will be...

Found in South Africa, Psilodera fasciata is a species of small-headed fly. As far as it is known, all species of small-headed flies are parasitoids of spiders. After eggs hatch, larvae seek out spiders, burrow through their body wall, and live inside the spider’s body while developing, but mature larvae pupate outside of the spider. Adults are nectar feeders with an exceptionally long proboscis.

So, okay, here's the thing...
There's nothing, canonically, which says that Claire is like, totally good. People are very quick to say things like "Johnny ruined this woman" or "Claire deserves better", but I had the thought a while back of like... What if she doesn't?
There is a version where Claire didn't necessarily follow a straight path from college to when we see her in the show, and we wouldn't know, because the show really tells us nothing about Claire beyond the fact that she married Johnny and they have kids and dog.
Folks like to assume Johnny was doing all his big bullshit and villainy more or less under cover in the sense that Claire was probably none the wiser to any of it, but there's just as little information presented to support that as there is to oppose it.
At the end of the day, she married Johnny Worthington and like, assuming this is because she knows him very intimately, I think that in itself clearly suggests some flaws in her judgement, if not her very character.
Because Johnny notoriously seems to try to completely surround himself with those who idolize him and they do not question his shit, and those who are, themselves, similar to Johnny and, likewise, tend to agree with him on most (if not all) things and are therefore about as unlikely to bring about any trouble for him.
So, there's probably something about Claire for which she fits somewhere within those two categories, or at least closely to. Because it's also the case that Johnny really didn't seem to grow or change much, in terms of his character, after college.
At least for me, it's hard to imagine Johnny voluntarily sharing his life with someone, especially on a close and intimate level, who has strong morals at least enough so to such that it's considerably possible they will not be happy about his (bigger) choices, to the extent that, perhaps, they are liable to be inclined to oppose him or be in his way at some point or another.
If nothing else? There is something about Claire that Johnny not only accepted but loved her for, and all of what we know about who Johnny is tells us that it's most likely not a good something, at least morally speaking.
