Bibliophile Inspired Necklaces
UK-based designer āRioā from Literary EmporiumĀ specializes in creating handmade jewelry, stationery and gifts inspired by classical literature. With a degree in English and a lover of literature and beautiful books, the artist was compel to create homages for her favorite novels and quotes.
Her first literary creation began as single postcard featuring a famous quote from Wuthering Heights. Now āRioā offers her expertise and bookworm passion into designing exclusive gifts, which book lovers will not be able to resist. Adorned with a symbolic necklace designated to each book (i.e., the owl in Harry Potter, the cage in Jane Eyre, the dashing bow tie in The Great Gatsby and more), each piece is attached to a postcard with a relevant excerpt. You can find her entire collection of bibliophile gifts in her Etsy shop.

Heraldry and same-sex marriage
The College of Arms has made new rules about heraldry in same-sex marriages. I thought a diagram might elucidate. Please feel free to share this around!
The Heraldry tag is positively exploding with this news. Iām really glad someone drew it up. (he didnāt cover the arms borne in pretence in the case of a woman whose wife is an heraldic heiress, but all the more common and important stuff is covered).
This is old news by now (well, old compared to news, itās still very new heraldically), but very interesting and deserves another reblog.
I went into a bit more detail about what the language of the rules mean here.
Minna Sundberg, creator of the webcomicĀ Stand Still. Stay Silent,Ā a story set in a lushly imagined post-apocalyptic Nordic world, has drawn the antidote to the boring linguistic tree diagram.

"I know a lot about Norse mythology. I've seen 'Thor' lots of times."
This speaks to me. Thank you to whomever made this Skyrim comic.
Roommate: I sneak up behind him and stealthily take the apron.
Me (overhearing rp session): why do you even want an apron
Roommate: BECAUSE IāM A THIEF AND I WANT THINGS

Beyond this, consider how these professions might vary depending on who the customers are - nobles, or lower class. Are they good at their job or just scraping by? Do they work with lots of other people or on their own? City or village?
For younger characters:
Apprentice to any of the above
Messenger/runner
Page/squire
Pickpocket
Shop assistant
Student

Also consider:
Candlemaker Ferryman Factor (looks after business for an employer in another city) Tiler Cutler Beekeeper Apothecary Interpreter Furrier Moneylender/Banker Winemaker Tinker (small trader who repairs stuff) Nightsoil collector Customs officer Also a bonus for animal related professions: Fowler (supplies game birds for eating) Warrener (catches rabbits on your land for you to eat) Ostler (looks after your horses) Falconer (looks after your falcons) Cocker (looks after your fighting cocks)
I need more fantasy rpg in my life that isnāt d&d-style. I think itās time for some Sword & Backpack.
