As an East Asian woman, I think another annoying aspect of racial fetishization is how White women are quick to victim-blame women of colour when the topic of racial fetishes is brought up. Like, for White feminists, any feminist analysis goes out the fucking window about how race intersects with gender, and they're often unempathetic to the violence that often accompanies being racially fetishized by White men. But I speculate that the reason why White women often feel threatened by the thought of women of colour being seen as desirable is due to White women's desirability being tied to their financial stability. Hence, when White men view women of colour as potential romantic partners, that becomes a threat to White women's financial stability.
