There’s this general perception in western culture that we Asian women are dainty and soft but this show highlights our women as anything but. They are competitive and have diverse sporting backgrounds. Their strengths. Their skills and abilities. All so strong. All so powerful and explosive. Not to mention the representation of different body types that’s beyond traditional representation of Asian women in popular media because fucking hell yeah we are made of tough stuff!

Misa eating well after battling cancer adds so much depth to the story. I love that she is deeply grateful about gaining back a healthy body and now understands the importance of good health which she sidelined to accommodate others moods and needs.

That run she breaks into in the first episode was so well done! She has been sick and tired for years thanks to the two parasites in her life. Now she is delightfully eating with her new friends and prioritising herself.
