I just thought of how in FAYZ Sam had to mercy kill quite a few times. Part of me wonders if he’d view the vote like that... make the choice to give everyone mercy and also so he and Astrid both could die knowing they died together and didn’t die in a horrible end they could meet in the SIM. But also Sam is a warrior and part of me thinks he’d want to see Hope in being able to make a better world I dunno
right?? sam has had to deal with so much crap.
he grew up with this power that caused so much shit with his mother & his family and his own personal life. like, this kid–he thought he was responsible for everything that was wrong for so long. sam temple was known as the kid who saved the school bus when all he wanted was to be a surfer dude with his friend quinn and hang back in class and just not be noticed. and somehow he winds up being one of the most important people in this “new world”. and he’s had to make all of these decisions–important life changing fucked up decisions that no one should have to make.
and suddenly, he finds out that everything he’s been through. every single thing he’s fought, and fought for, everyone he’s had to lose, is all for a simulation?
imagine having to deal with this news and processing it in such a short amount of time.
is sam temple, the kid who took charge because he needed to going to vote yes. end the sim and take away every being’s “life” because of the mercy and the solace it can bring every being? would he think that this is all for the greater good of the people and choose yes to end this simulation because it’s what would end the most suffering?
or is he going to go the opposite direction. would sam temple, who’s fought for everything he’s got because of the damn hope that something good would come in the end–vote no, vote to stay in the sim??? for that hope of everything that could come–even if it’s not likely that things can get better. does he still believe in the hope that it will get better?
