@littleslugmonster
Wow, she’s got a huge moustache.
watch them find a way to use this to complain about how terrible millenials are
I SWEAR TO GOD
ban old people from the internet
old people can be idiots
REASONS MILLENIALS DON’T ALL EAT GODDAMN CEREAL
-cereal is fucking EXPENSIVE. The boxes are thinner than they used to be and for that price, have very low nutritional value except fibre
-MILK for cereal is fucking expensive
-cereal is NOT FILLING. You have to eat an incredible amount to be full for just one hour, and it is not enough to keep you going through the entire day.
-cereal is INCONVENIENT. You don’t have to “work” for it (what the fuck does that even mean????? did our parents go out every morning and hunt for their bacon and eggs????) BUT it does take time to prepare and eat
-it CAN’T be made in advance excepting those insane few who like cereal-milk mush. so for those who need to rush out in the morning, it’s useless because it can’t be prepared the night before
-it’s not transportable. You can keep a smoothie in a closed cup with a straw, a protein bar can be packed away in a purse or a pocket–you can’t drink cereal (excepting aforementioned slush), and if you’re on public transit, you’re going to be the asshole spilling milk all over yourself while you desperately try to shovel 4 lbs of grains and sugar into your mouth to keep you full until lunch
-for those who can’t afford to buy bulk cereal and milk AND can’t afford the time to MAKE that shit every morning, it’s so much easier to BUY $2 breakfast from mcdicks
-hey, celiac anyone?
-cereal with ANY nutritional value has fruits and nuts added, and that shit is EXPENSIVE ($8 for a small box of vector cereal, no fucking thank you)
-the other options the millenials listed were ‘smoothie’ and ‘breakfast bar’, both of which are packed with the necessary calories that the average working/schoolgoing/probably both millenial NEEDS. My job has me doing 10,000 steps before noon most days. A 200 kcal bowl of cereal is NOT providing me with the energy for that, but a thick smoothie with a ton of vitamins and minerals or a super-filling breakfast bar with a ton of protein is
-why the fuck is cereal a privilege for the hard workers are you kidding? i cannot get over this. you do not work for cereal. you pour milk into a bowl of grain and eat it for ~20 mins. that’s not work. my mom reads the newspaper with her cereal, she is expending exactly 0 energy eating it. really.
TL;DR, baby boomers are dumb and don’t actually realize that their children have no goddamn time or money.
and they complain about us letting the cereal industry crash? those old fuckers are the ones who need the damn fibre. let them keep it alive
Thank you for the sincere breakdown of no, no time fo cereal
Also… Can we talk about how “millennials” somehow not only include someone who’s 30, but someone who’s 7? So, what, 7 year olds don’t wanna clean their bowls? Is that a surprise? Like, can I get an actual age group instead of “millenials”, please? Because so far that group spans 30+ years.
The NY Times article this is actually about is a lot better than any of the articles floating around about this. Also it’s a survey and the answer that 40% of millennials gave was that they don’t want to clean up afterwards. Like that’s the actual reason the people gave in the survey.
these are actually hella fucking cute y'all

Me honestly
This is so pure. This is the American Dream. This is what dreams are made of.
This kind of crap is what I want future/alien societies to find and try to use to explain what life in this time period was like
“Brown eyed people are responsible for the fact that you have electricity. Many of the components for generating and transmitting electricity were invented by brown eyed people.
Brown eyed people gave us our alphabet. Brown eyed people gave us our numeration system. Brown eyed people gave us the paper on which we write these anonymous letters to me that tell me that brown eyed people are inferior.
Brown eyed people are the originators, the ones who founded every major religion on Earth. No white people have ever founded a major religion.
Now you need to realize the contributions that have been made to society, to civilization by brown eyed people, by PEOPLE OF COLOR.
I’m talking about people of color here folks. And most of us are not aware of those things because we live in a racist society.
And because we are educated by a racist school system that only teaches us about white contributions.”
- Jane Elliot on the Oprah Winfrey Show panel on racism in 1992.

Did you bring any sweets for me, Uncle?
