okay hihi, thought i'd do an intro '^^.

- bodily 16, but i regress anywhere from 4-8

- my regression happens due to stress, but is sometimes self-induced. there are other factors i'm still figuring out too.

- i've also found my regression can happen a lot more often when i'm interacting with media or characters i really like so i'll list some stuff,,

- as of january 2026, my regression has mainly been very minimal. this blog may be inactive for unspecified periods of time.

⟡　﹕　Age regression is a psychological phenomenon where a person's thoughts, emotions, and behaviors revert to an earlier stage of development. It can be conscious or unconscious, and is often linked to stress, trauma, or a desire for comfort.

⟡　﹕　Age dreamer is someone who enjoys acting, thinking, or feeling like a younger age but does not mentally revert to a younger state, unlike in age regression. It is a voluntary and controlled practice, sometimes called a "headspace/mindset" that does not fit under the age regression umbrella. An age dreamer maintains awareness of their older age and may incorporate childlike activities and behaviors into their adult life, but they don't completely "slip into" being younger.

⟡　﹕　Pet regression is when someone mentally reverts to an animalistic headspace or mindset, rather than a younger age like in age regression. It serves as a coping mechanism, providing comfort and stress relief, and can be achieved intentionally or occur spontaneously due to trauma or neurodivergence. People in this state may adopt animal-like behaviors and may or may not use associated "gear" like ears or collars.

⟡　﹕　Pet dreamer is someone who engages in pet dreaming, a practice where they adopt an animalistic headspace or behavior without fully slipping into the animalistic state of mind, contrasting with someone who experiences full pet regression. They might behave like an animal for various reasons, such as coping with stress, escapism, fun, or for aesthetic purposes, but they maintain control over the mindset and don't lose their adult self.

sometimes regression/inner child healing is indulging in the things you enjoyed as a kid, even if they weren't actually child friendly.

i'm a 2000s kid who grew up with the internet, and you know darn well i was NOT supervised! i watched some insane stuff on youtube as a really young kid. and you know what? i go back and watch them sometimes, and it actually does help me regress.

one of my favorite youtube series as a young kid was called "is it a good idea to microwave this?" and it's exactly as it sounds. lots of crude humor, lots of swearing, lots of things exploding in microwaves. but every time i rewatch the series i can't help but feel like i'm 7 again, laughing at these silly guys putting silly things in their microwave.

this is why i get kinda bent outta shape when people say non-kid friendly media doesn't have a place in age regression when it absolutely does. some of us grew up with crude adult humor, and thus it helps us regress when we go back and watch it! and i think that's extremely valid.
