to all my non-filipino moots out there who probably have no idea what iâve been sharing with my filipino anons right now,
OUR COUNTRY IS FUCKED.
imagine choosing a dictatorâs sonâwhose family robbed many peopleâs lives, our nationâs funds, and even our peopleâs freedom of speech and expressionâwhose only platform is âunityâ, faked his degree in oxford, has been jobless for six years, and is charged for multiple cases of tax evasion over a woman who has received a post graduate degree, is an attorney, is a strong mother to three daughters who are all successful, who has been the main proponent for the countryâs solutions to covid-19, who is not afraid to take on any circumstances despite any hatred and judgement she has faced from misogynists, fake news peddlers, and misinformed people.
imagine choosing a mediocre actor and comedian who has no background in political science and law or whatsoever over an attorney whose platforms are evidence-based and are relevant to the countryâs current struggles, just because of his looks.
i personally am worried for my future, and for the future of my fellow countrymen if this is the kind of mindset that majority of people will stick to. i am in pain. i am filled with anxiety about how the next six years will turn out to be for me if corruption and unjust governance will lead the country. though these might be the unofficial results of yesterdayâs election, it shows everyone that people can be stupid and fucked in the head, letting themselves make the same mistakes they did decades ago.
stocks are plummeting with the spread of this sad news and the foreign investors are probably laughing at us right now. i know why. this leading candidate is banned in many countries for his crimes yet people are still voting for him.
the worst part is people believe that keeping a good character is enough to lead a country. sure, it is integral, but judging how people want to vote for an undergraduate and his evil upbringing, many people are starting to question if their hard work for getting a degree is still worthwhile, and this includes me.
i am speaking in behalf of many filipinos who are not satisfied with the results of the election. itâs very saddening for me to see selfish adults celebrating the âwinâ of a thief while their children are filled with horror and anguish.
fuck the marcoses. i stand proudly to fight for whatâs right and i keep my moral integrity in me. đđ¸đˇ
HUWAG NINYONG IDAMAY ANG BUONG BANSA SA KATANGAHAN NINYO.
Hello, everyone. As much as I want to keep politics away from my blog, it has become hard not to be able to speak up. There are a lot of issues that have been popping up here and there because of the current progress of the election in our country, and it's heartbreaking. This is not a ploy to win your pity, but it is a plea for help.
I am not aware if you have heard anything like this, but international customers that have commission Filipino artists are pulling back their orders because of the misguided believe that every filipino they know is a supporter of a tyrant.

If this helps, this is a rundown of the current situation in our country.

I am sorry if I cannot provide ID image (describing photos in words is not my strong point), but I hope this will at least be able to light things on our international audience in the field that we are that the situation in our country is nothing to scoff at nor is it anything to laugh or gossip about. This our country and our future at stake, so please, if you can, do no lose hope on the people that actually wants a better future for our fellow filipinos. We might be seen as martyrs, but our love for our country and our desire for better things is stronger.
If you have commissioned PH artists, please do not pull out your order. We need you this time more than we did before, and to see that some of you have given up on filipinos is heart shattering in so many mays. Please continue your commission to PH artist â help them instead. Start showing your support more than ever. It doesn't always have to be about money, but I figure the most important thing is for everyone, filipino or not, to raise awareness that the situation in the Philippines is at risk of heading to a much larger crisis.
The same goes not just for PH artists, but also for any PH creators out there. Freelance musicians, game devs, writers, voice actors, and so many more.
Again, I am not â we are not doing this to win your pity, and we are not doing this to exploit your kindness. We are simply and justifiably concerned about our country and its people because right now, the future looks anything but bright. I might sure if I got my point across, but my desperation to voice out what I cannot do in my own country has gotten far too strong just be bottled-up inside, and my emotions have turned messy.
RIGHT NOW, WE NEED YOUR HELP MORE THAN EVER, SO PLEASE DON'T GIVE UP ON US TOO.
Something to repeat to yourself in the shower:
My stories are not for everyone.Â
My stories will bore some readers. Some readers will hate them. Some wonât understand, wonât connect the dots, wonât relate to the characters. Some wonât because they canât, some wonât because they donât want to, but most wonât simple because my stories just arenât for them.
My stories arenât for everyone.
My stories are for me.
And theyâre for the readers who will love them. Theyâre for the reader who have already loved them. For the readers who will see what I see in them and feel the characters and the world the way I do. Theyâre for the readers who wanted these stories before they even knew they existed. Theyâre for the readers theyâll make smile, the readers theyâll stick with, and the readers theyâll save.
And just because my stories arenât for everyone doesnât make them worth any less to the people they are for.Â
Not everyone likes butterflies. Not everyone likes spiders. But the people who love those creatures more than anything else would lose a part of themselves if they didnât exist.Â
So no, my stories are not for everyone. But that doesnât matter.Â
Because theyâre for someone, and to that someone, theyâre irreplaceable.
I will be posting a post with a more informative update on how Chapter 1 is going, but I wanted to say; I am not giving a solid date or any date of release for the chapter now, as the situation in my country is ever changing currently because of the war; while I am safe (as I live in Poland) I'd lie if I said every day is not stressful and heartbreaking. I'd like to ask all of you to if not donate (tweet with links from official Ukrainian twitter account), then help another way, or amplify Ukrainian voices. Ukrainians know best what they need. It's not the time for whataboutism or memes or POV tiktoks. I know it may be weird for me to make a post like this, but it's hard for me not to. The past month+ made me realise a lot of things, and since I have some following here, I want to use it to help in any way I can. So, please, remember:
verify all news about Ukraine -- there's a lot of fake news spread around
amplify Ukrainian voices and do not speak over them
you do not have to donate to help -- you can just reblog/retweet/share a post that carries information on how to help, or with important news
do not make light of this ongoing tragedy -- yes we use humor to cope, but for fuck's sake people are dying, stop making memes or POV tiktoks about it
I'm sorry if this post is a mess but I'm a bit all over the place right now.
also fyi. anyone who wants to "stay neutral" about this can unfollow me -- you cannot 'stay neutral' about an unprovoked hostile invasion and mass murdering of innocent people

I decided to share this because seeing (mostly) Americans saying things like âi am a communist đđ¤Şâ or âomg noo our prices went up weâre affected too!!!â takes away like 10 years from my life span

if u want u can help preserve the memory of a shtetl (european towns with large jewish populations that were almost all destroyed in the holocaust) by donating to fund the translations of yizkor books
as holocaust remembrance day is later this week, january 27th, you can also donate to the european jewish cemeteries initiative, which does incredibly important work in preserving jewish memory in europe and protecting the remnants of centuries of jewish life from desecration.Â
