I figured Caine's love language would be putting his abilities to good use however he can, and making Jax comfortable in her new identity was a good opportunity to join the vibes. Plus, he would absolutely put that someone in a circus outfit, cause it's Caine.

By the end of this AU do you plan to have the whole main Circus cast as a part of the travelling party?

Right now, the idea is on the table. So far, I intend to keep things similar to the MIA storyline, meeting friends before having to depart, with some of them joining the party. I think it's realistic that not everyone wants or has to join someone else's venture (especially one they cannot return from) while still becoming their friend. I appreciate that theme a lot in Made in Abyss, so I hope to keep it similar!

Though considering how certain circumstances are different in this AU, maybe they'll be able to cross paths again down the line (depends on whether the timing can be right).

Into The Abyss!

This took me so long to finish, I don't even care if it's a little messy, but hey! Had such a busy week that I haven't really been motivated to draw, but I'll get back into the grind eventually. Just want to make a couple of renders, and soon enough, show off all the refs for the Orth Arc.

Ragatha Prushka? Maybe Jax nanachi and Ribbit mitty? Or not second guess Zooble Nanachi and Gangle Mitty?

One question, if it's not too awkward: How do you plan to address the issue of Bondrewd and the experiments on children? Especially your relationship with Prushka, whom you've cared for since she became critically ill.

Especially Irumyuui. Since the reason they gave her the cradle of desire was because children's desires were less complex than those of adults.

Will there be OC characters from TADC or will there be some original MIA characters?

I intend to keep the child experimentation part the same, to be blunt, since logically, the method behind it would make the most sense (to Bondrewd at least, the sick fuck). But! The relationship between Nanachi/Mitty and Bondrewd will change for reasons that will be revealed when I get the designs out... eventually. It's been a long week, y'all. Prushka is the same, but I will note that she gets to live a little longer here, before the canon events happen.

I'll be perfectly honest, I have no idea what I'm going to do for anything past the Ido Front Arc. The problem is that the number of canon characters from TADC that I'll have after that will start to dwindle really fast. But if anyone has any ideas as I go along for the AU, I would love to hear them! As for now, most of my passion for the Au will go as far as the Ido Front Arc.

There will be a chance of OC characters from TADC so that they fit into the world that's being merged here (I may be willing to pull OCs from my own ideas or even a few friends' ocs with their permission, of course). However, most fauna, like the Crimson Splitjaw or Meinastilim, will remain the same!

I’m curious what your abyssal circus version of the elevator scene will be.

I imagine the scene itself won't change much, but when it comes to the setup towards it, that's where I'm going to attempt to get creative. Since a lot of the characters in this AU are going to be adults instead of children, I'll have to change a few things to fit the context of the situations.

As for who is who, I'll get to that at a later date (I don't think y'all are ready.)

The Abyssal Circus AU!!

This is an AU I've been cooking up for the past few days, and I'm ready to share it now! Keep in mind, this is a Showtime AU, cause uh, surprise, I really like that ship as I do with Checkmates. And I thought, what better way to draw the ship than to combine it with my favorite anime of all time (cause robot boy, young girl with strange eyes, and all, you see the vision, right?)

More characters and stuff will come from this soon enough! For now, I'll take some time to explain these two a bit more right here if you're interested:

For Pomni, I kinda wanted her personality to shift a bit from Riko, the character she is playing—it's basically about when you wanted to do something really bad as a kid, but the dream kinda falls apart as you get older. Then something reignites your passion for what you loved, and you decide to just take the plunge and go for it. Literally, in this case. As much as the Abyss called to her, she grew distant from it as time went on, showcasing her typical anxiety before she later became more confident. She still has extensive knowledge of the Abyss, but y'know. She uses it more when she's assisting new cave raiders until the plot starts.

And for Caine, I imagine he has two sides to him: his goofy ringmaster persona, and a more serious, but contemplative self. Not exactly having a god complex, due to his lack of knowledge of his purpose. There are supernatural forces at work surrounding the Abyss—more Lovecraftian than magical. Some relics can have world-bending abilities, and as for Caine, he's mostly mechanical, aside from the fact that he is nearly indestructible and has a laser canon that can destroy anything. Inexplicably, he is made of these relics, while also having very human properties and functions.

So in a way, he's powerless in this AU, but he's not without abilities that make navigating and surviving the Abyss way easier. Ultimately, he finds a new purpose in trying to protect Pomni down into the netherworld, because together, they're all they have to make it down there at all.
