So clearly they were doing something they shouldn't have and she git hurt because of it. Im guessing they burned her grandmother's things and got drunk - that maybe Cady tried to stop it and someone stopped *her*

A couple things here: "Like" he was having a breakdown. Sorry to say Carl, in some way you definitely are.

And the reveal of the naga threat being butchered was soooo good. Especially with Vinata passive aggressively both threatening and trying to recruit Carl.

She has almost nothing up her six sleeves if the Blood Sultane is nearly wiped out

They're such a good team. Donut being able to stall for time is such a good character move.

I also like Carl, apparently, not caring what Ferdinand is doing. With a team like his, I'm sure it's nothing

Interesting that her bed is only uncomfortable that night. That not only is her pillow to better use, she doesn't regret it and she only deals with an uncomfortable bed that first night.

My only note for this chapter is "Off his lap" and I dont remember the context, just that it made me scoff out loud. I'm going to guess it was Lana and Logan being clingy

I also like that even though it's revealed "Gary" is the AI Carl still refers to him as Gary
