I can’t believe I haven’t been on here for about 5 years. I used to be obsessed with this website! I’ll see if I stick around again.
Me: *passes a blunt to the demon in my house* AHAAA gotcha bitch , that was laced with sage get the fuck out my house
My 26 yr old sister still says things out loud like ‘ermagerd’ and ’___ ALL the things!’ Like…is that what’s gonna happen to me?am I going to be 30 still saying stupid shit like O shit waddup! Are all the youngins gonna be embarrassed by my use of outdated memes….how long until I myself am not Hip With It….how long until I am no longer a trendy memer…
What I’ve seen out of the tolerant left since last night:
attacking voters without college degrees
attacking third party voters
attacking women of color who chose not to vote for Clinton
threats of violence and hopes for an assassination
This is not the byproduct of a vote. It is a conscious choice of how to act.
I’m glad I can find posts that communicate the thoughts I struggle to put into words.
I cannot believe how many people are being SOOOOOO childish and having meltdowns. Do they not understand how the govt works??
No, I don’t think they do. And I don’t think most of these kids even realize that Obama will remain in office until January.
I still love my friends and family, no matter how they voted or didn’t vote. They are my friends and family, they have the right to think how they want. I will still show kindness and understanding to anyone I meet despite how they voted.
Before you accuse me of supporting Trump voters: None of my family and friends voted for him to be racist, bigoted people. They had reasons outside of that. I had civilized conversations with anyone I knew that wanted to vote for Trump. I talked to them about my feelings for him. They talked to me about why they liked them. Had they been racist, or hateful, or misogynistic, etc, I would have stopped associating with them long ago.
Before you accuse me of supporting Third Party voters: None of my family or friends voted Third Party as an FU to not wanting Hillary. They voted Third Party because they wanted to. They agreed with their policies.
Before you accuse me of supporting Clinton voters: My family and friends that voted for her, are the same people that wanted her in the office for the last election. They felt she was a sound choice. They didn’t vote for her to prevent a specific person from becoming president.
Before you accuse me of supporting anyone that didn’t vote: We have the right to vote and yes, it was a struggle to get that right for a vast majority of our nation. But it is also our right to not vote. If someone doesn’t feel the need to vote, so be it. I wish they would vote, but I can’t force them to choose a candidate and go fill out a paper.
What I’m saying is…I’m being supportive, understanding, kind. Hating someone for how they voted is not un-similar to hating someone for what God they choose to believe in. We have people that do that now, and it’s shitty isn’t it? I get it, Trump is truly a terrible a leader for our country. I am so saddened, and not proud to be an American. But I will listen to anyone that doesn’t support my political beliefs, before I blindly hate them. By not trying to love one another and not trying and make peace with each other, we are just adding to the hate that has been going on in this country, lately.
You don’t want Trump supporters following your blog? Don’t tell them to fuck off. There are more civilized ways of going about that. You don’t like that people voted Third Party? How do you know which ones used that vote as a throw away and which ones genuinely wanted that candidate to be elected? By telling people how much of a shit-bag they are for how they voted, it encourages people to stop voting all together and adds hate to hate. We have choices for a reason. The point is to let everyone vote how they feel. Don’t attack a specific voting party as a whole.
I’m rambling, I’m sorry, I’m struggling to express my point because I am just so abashed, right now. I can’t comprehend that some of you are saying the things that I’m reading. I’m crying at some of these things. I seriously thought Trump supporters were the only ignorant, stubborn, hate-spouting people I saw on the internet. Boy, was I wrong. What if your grandmother voted Third Party because she liked that candidate, and has always been a libertarian? You just told her to fuck off and get out of your life, because she let Trump win. That’s such bullshit.
We have to be kind to one another. We have to understand. Propaganda has ruled this election more than any other I’ve seen. We need to focus on facts. We have to stick together and make sound choices for our future, before we see the rise of the second civil war of your country.
The worst I’ve seen is the Bowie fans who are screaming “if you didn’t vote for Hillary, don’t ever say his name again, you’re a disgrace to everything he stood for and he would hate you.”
More than anything else, he was about thinking for one’s self. Not creating a cultish hive-mind. If anything, I think the hatred being spewed in his name tonight would break his heart.
Wow, that is absolutely silly. I totally agree with all of that. This would break his heart, if not disgust him altogether.
Maybe I’m just getting older (I’ve had a tumblr several years and definitely don’t check it as often as I used to) but it seems like everyone around here is a bit dramatic and immature.
glumshoe:
Progress comes in fits and bursts. There will be setbacks; this is one of them. It is not the end. Do not fan the fires of despair. There are millions of Americans who are horrified by the election results, and billions more people around the world. They’re real and they have not abandoned you.
This is stupid, and shitty. But it’s been stupid and shitty before. Do not let your dismay close your heart and your mind to opportunities to push our society forward. It’s never pretty… it groans and creaks and protests, and sometimes it rolls backwards. Don’t give in to doom and gloom…. all harm can be minimized, if not prevented entirely. Get involved in your local communities. Support each other. Remember that the next general election is less than two years from now, and there will be many more opportunities to make things happen on a local scale.
This is not the end. We are not broken so easily.

Do you think David Bowie knew what was going to happen this year and that’s why he went back home to space? It was the Bowie version of “so long and thanks for all the fish”.
that was the first thought in my head- this is because David Bowie is gone isn’t it
I definitely thought this.
To the 5% of people in Arizona who voted 3rd party- if you had voted for Hillary, that’s 11 electoral votes that would have gone to her.
To the 3% of people in Florida who voted 3rd party- if you had voted for Hillary, that’s 29 electoral votes that would have gone to her.
To the 5.5% of people in Michigan who voted 3rd party- if you had voted for Hillary, that’s 16 electoral votes that would have gone to her.
To the 5% of people in New Hampshire who voted 3rd party- if you had voted for Hillary, that’s 4 electoral votes that would have gone to her.
To the 3.3% of people in Pennsylvania who voted 3rd party- if you had voted for Hillary, that’s 20 electoral votes that would have gone to her.
To the 5.7% of people in Wisconsin who voted 3rd party- if you had voted for Hillary, that’s 10 electoral votes that would have gone to her.
Total, that is 90 electoral votes. As I type this, Hillary needs 61 to win.
Please just let that sink in for a second.
Hillary would’ve been elected right now, at this very moment, if instead of you protesting your vote, had just voted for her. She would EASILY be President.
You KNEW 3rd party candidates didn’t stand a chance. You were told. But instead, you had to vote for them anyways, and guess what?
You screwed us over. Congratulations.
I hope that feeding your “both candidates are bad” superiority complex is worth a Trump presidency.
They didn’t want Hillary. You wanted Hillary. That was your candidate. Not theirs. You didn’t get your way. Grow up.
No one should be bashing on Third Party voters. You don’t know why they voted Third Party. The point of voting is having a choice and being able to vote who you want to.
Regardless of how you’ve voted, try to be good to everyone you know as we watch this new period in America’s history unfold.
This. Because I can’t believe some of the stuff I’m seeing people say on this site right now... I thought Facebook was bad, but you guys sound so hateful right now and it’s sad as fuck.
If you’re currently throwing a tantrum and demanding that people unfollow you and never speak to you again because they didn’t vote the way you demanded, you’re not the kind of person I particularly want to associate with anyway.
I haven’t been on tumblr for a few months, and the first few posts were a lot of hate for people who voted for Trump. I’m clearly not for Trump, but when you spout out a bunch of “fuck you”s, “unfollow me”s, and other hate to people, you sound just as bad as the guy who just became our president. We as a society need to calm the fuck down and learn to be more loving to one another, despite peoples opinions. Don’t stoop to the level of Trump and his supporters by reacting this way.
