As long as you are taking a SAFE dose of it, then it's *good* for you. Pain is bad for the body. The inflammation from prolonged pain can worsen chronic issues and make it harder to heal.
Ibuprofen is best for pain that has inflammation, while acetaminophen doesn't help with inflammation but is more broadly effective on other types of pain. As long as you are taking the recommended dose, you can even take them TOGETHER, since they have different mechanisms of action.
You do need to be aware of how much and how often you are taking any pain medication. Overdoses can be very painful (even lethal.) And if you are in chronic pain often enough that you need more than the safe dose, then you need to look into other medications to manage that pain.
(Also, if you are specifically taking Acetaminophen/Tylenol for your go-to pain management, getting some NAC and taking that with it reduces the risk of overdose AND may strengthen the effect.)
One other thing: NSAIDS (ibuprofen, aspirin, and naproxen being the three big ones) can cause digestive issues with chronic use, including stomach ulcers. That doesn't mean "don't take them," it means "if you're at the point where you're on them all the time, every day, constantly, you should talk to a doctor about either reducing that risk or switching to another medication that doesn't have those side effects."

Also please please please consult your doctor if you are on any other type of medication that put large strains on your liver or kidneys before taking any kind of NSAIDs as they can recommend alternatives.
Yes Chronic Kidney Disease and liver disease prevent the use of NSAIDS entirely. Please remember this. Tylenol is the least harmful to these organs. If migraines are your problem, ask neurologist about the triptan drug family. Downside with these is nausea.

As a scientist, this is the way I feel when people in pain don't take the medication that was developed to help with pain:
Especially because as a scientist, I know that pain sensitization is a thing, and that experiencing pain for long periods of time can even train your whole nervous system to be even more reactive to potential pain. So if at all possible, I want my friends who are experiencing pain to try to control that pain as much as possible.
So if you are in pain, and you do not have any massive kidney and liver strain that prohibits you from taking a NSAID or paracetamol/Tylenol?
Please take the pain medicine. Please. Pleeeaaaaaase. I'm a scientist.
yeah i'm a scientist who specializes in designing new pain meds. suffering is not noble, this is exactly how i look when y'all don't manage your pain:
take the meds! i became a scientist in this field explicitly to help people! i became a scientist because i too experience chronic pain and i failed out of literally all pain meds on the market. those of us in this field, we make these things to be used. be safe, follow doses, and if you have questions, ask your doc and pharmacist!

if you have ADHD and struggle with cleaning/keeping things clean, Iām going to offer some aggressively practical advice that may or may not work but has been so helpful for me to keep a base level of tidiness without losing a whole day to cleaning hyperfocus or ending up stressed to the point of crying about how much stuff I have to deal with.
(Itās best suited if youāre in your own apartment/house and have multiple rooms to manage.) But just start moving. Walk around your place. Put on some music or a YouTube video or whatever floats your boat in your headphones and go for a stroll. See some scissors on the coffee table? Snag em on your way by and drop them off where they go. A dish in your bedroom? Bring that bad boy to the sink as you round the corner. Going room by room or breaking tasks into smaller chunks honestly just stresses me out more lmao but wandering around aimlessly emptying trash bins and tossing socks into the hamper as I notice them?? Now Iām just playing one of those object spotter games babey. No pressure there. If Iām feeling extra ambitious Iāll carry a trash bag with me. Canāt get overwhelmed by a room if I leave it two seconds later. Something doesnāt have a place to go? Make one! Or leave it! Who cares!
A bonus tip is to go to Target or Goodwill or Homegoods or any place that has cheap bins/baskets (little ones that youād keep pencils or rolls of tape or something in not large storage totes) and keep a few sets on hand. If you realize youāve accumulated a comical number of sharpies you can go grab a little pencil tray for them and suddenly they have a place to go and now when you find a sharpie on the ground you can toss it in the sharpie bin. Doesnāt matter if the sharpie bin is still on the ground, Iām not going to slip and die in a marker-based Looney Tunes incident and I know if I need a sharpie I go to the spot on the floor next to my bookshelf.
And if you go for a walk and donāt pick up anything thatās also fine you at least moved around a bit. Familiarized yourself with the landscape.
It also tricks my brain into seeing āmoving from one room to the other = picking up a few things to put awayā which just generally helps keep piles from getting out of hand.
Once Iāve made a few laps things are generally tidy enough to do the same thing with vacuuming/wiping down surfaces/dusting etc.
(side note but if youāre in HS/otherwise living with your parents and being constantly squished under a hydraulic press of shame and pressure about your inability to keep your room clean without actually being given coping skills or help, I see you and I love you and I was you and having a messy living space is not actually a moral failing itās just a thing that happens sometimes)
I was skeptical, but I tried this and it worked! I have to do it when I first get up in the morning ( or at 1pm), but Iāll just wander around and put things in their place, one object at a time. It might take me a bit to get momentum, but when I do I can really crack down on multiple objects at once. Great method, 10/10 recommend.

Things I figured out recently that work better for me for cleaning as someone with ADHD that might work for you
Wearing Gloves while cleaning so I don't think about the texture of what I pick up/touch
Seeing what I can get done in 15/25 minutes at a time with breaks included (shorter times seem to be more manageable)
Put the radio on or a CD as background music instead of playing music on my phone as it can be distracting
or you could install a blocking app on your phone if you still want to use Spotify, YouTube music ect.
I recommend the app "stay focused" which is available on Google play (Android) and the App store (Apple)
