gosh am i frustrated ,, i just wanna have a cool room with walls covered in albums of my favorite bands and photos of me and my friends up at three am going absolutely crazy with a throwaway camera at a local gas station, i wasn’t fairy lights covering my ceiling, i wanna look powerful with chunky shoes and want people to say id thank her if she stepped on my face, but i also want to wear flowers in my hair and have pretty dresses and freckles and non greasy hair, and an actual fan page on instagram or something, i wanna learn how to longboard dance, to be able to leave my house and drive to who knows where, i want a boyfriend that shares my interest and will do anything with me, but i can’t have that pinterest grunge aesthetic i want because i’m not pretty, i’m broke, i’m too young to drive, and i have parents that care too much about me for my own good man i’m sad i don’t do any of this i just lay on my bed and stare at the ceiling wishing for things not meant to be.

Go on a journey with me.

It’s 2032. You’re in a theatre with your child or one of your friends’ children. The latest superhero movie just came out. It’s a period piece origin story taking place in the now nostalgic and retro year of 2012.

Our heroes reach the final climax of the movie where they are obviously destroying either a space station or New York because those are the only two things that can be destroyed in superhero movies. And just as our cocky heroes start fighting one of them plugs their iPod touch into the facility’s speaker system. And like a flash with those first few electrified sounds your entire body stiffens up. And right after the first words to the first drop in the beat our young heroine throws her first punch. And for the whole song her and her companions punch and kick and shoot perfectly to the beat.

there are several types of art block:

- “head empty, no thoughts” - where you have no to little ideas on what to draw, quite frustrating 

- “ok guess we’re not doin that today” - where you have the ideas but your motivation to get it done is a big 0

- “wtf hand” - where your hand just does not want to cooperate, and really that’s okay

- “I could be drawing but I can also continue to lay here in bed on the internet for 6 more hours”- self explanatory

have i really been spending the entirety of quarantine playing minecraft instead of actually being productive and trying to get better at my interests because god knows when im going to have this much free time in my life ever again? yes. yes i am.
