Thatâs perfectly fine with me, I even prefer it depending on the characters involved. I would love to write to write for multiple people, especially considering content like that can be hard to find.

Imladris has always been very peaceful, everyone who visits always comments on how calm and beautiful it is, but it takes a lot of work to keep it that way, and as Lindir is the assistant of Elrond and his job is to make sure everything runs smoothly he can get pretty stressed. Thatâs what has been happening recently, I donât know what has happened, or if nothing has happened at all but everyday for the past week and a half Lindir has been getting up early and going to be late, he barely has any time to relax and recuperate.
As his wife I see it as my duty to take care of Lindir just as he takes care of me, so I talked to Elrond and we both agree that Lindir has been working longer hours and putting in more effort recently and that he deserves a day off to relax. I made Elrond promise not to tell Lindir that I came to him, knowing that Lindir would be embarrassed that his lord would see him as weak, even though Elrond would never dare think that of Lindir.
The day that we decided Lindir would take time off was in three days, not as soon as I would like but there were some important meetings and other issues that were taking place during that time that Elrond needed Lindirâs help with so I let be.
Walking back to Lindirâs and I shared quarters I thought of other things I could do to help Lindir relax or take some of the weight off his shoulders. I really didnât like seeing Lindir as taxed as he was.
I was almost to the door when an idea came to mind, it wouldnât exactly help take any stress off of Lindir, but it would make him smile and feel better, and thatâs all I needed. I changed my route to go get all the supplies I would need to make my plan come to life. I couldnât wait to see Lindirâs reaction.

Having gathered all the necessary supplies I went back to the room to begin my plan of action. When I got inside the room I placed everything on the floor I sat down, readying myself to spend the next hour or so making little notes of encouragement for Lindir. My plan was to place the notes I made all around Imladris in places I know that Lindir will find them so over the next three days while he is still working he can have a few minutes of happiness, hopefully stress free and look forward to finding more notes. Who knows, maybe this will turn into a game between us.
I gathered all the paper I had gotten from Erestor and got the scissors and began cutting the paper into pieces big enough for me to write a message on, but small enough for me to hide them around Imladris.
When I had a decently sized pile of paper cut outs I moved on to writing messages of encouragement on them, some of them were simple messages like âI love youâ or âThank youâ while some of them went into detail about how I love his work ethic and things like that. I made sure to keep all the messages pretty basic and vanilla just in case anyone else were to come across them instead of Lindir. I made sure to keep them all unsigned so that if anyone did come across them they wouldnât know it was me, and I knew that Lindir would be able to recognize my writing anyway. I debated between writing Lindirâs name across the top so that it was clear who the message was for and decided to go with that so that he knew that it was for him when he first finds them.
When I finished writing messages I gathered them up in a bag and began to walk around Imladris thinking about spots that Lindir frequently visits and would find them. I began with easy spots like his office, which thankfully he was not at for the time being, and put them in drawers in his desk, on the bookshelf, and even one by one of the flower vases. I then moved to places that I knew he went to take a breather when he had a minute to spare, places like a few of the hidden balconies, in the garden, and at the gazebo that was hidden at the very back of the garden that Lindir and I consider âourâ spot.
Heading back to my room for the afternoon until dinner a shot of excitement went through me, it was hard to gage how Lindir would react to the notes, I donât know if he would say anything or not but I was excited to see how it would turn out.

Over the next three days Lindir came across dozens of notes, spread out all around Imladris, at first he was confused but then he realized the Y/n, his wife had done it in an effort to cheer him up and distract him from the stress of work.
It was quite interesting really, as soon as he thought that he had found all of them he would find another one, it kept him on his toes and more aware of his surroundings than he would normally be. It got to the point where he was actively looking for them because they were always so lovely.
Later that day, after supper Elrond had sent him off to his quarters earlier than normal, in fact, Elrond had been acting strange all day, not anything drastic but enough that Lindir, having been by Elrond's side since he was an elfling, could pick up on it.
When he got to his chambers that Y/n and him shared he found that she too was acting strange, she kept trying to get him to relax, and when he had tried to get some more work done earlier she had thrown a fit, talking about how he needs to relax more, and that work shouldnât be brought into personal life. Lindir knew that they both had planned something, but he didnât know what. He figured that their plans would come to the surface sooner rather than later.

The next morning Y/n felt Lindir wake up as she normally did, but this was the day that Lindir was scheduled to have the day off so instead of rolling to the side and ignoring Lindir she climbed on top of Lindir to prevent him from getting up.
Underneath her she could feel Lindir freeze up and hesitate to remove her, âwhat are you doing, nin mel? I have to go to work, you know thisâ he stroked her hair and gently tried to nudge her off him.
Hugging him tighter I buried my face in his neck, for me it was much too early to be awake, ânot today you donât, Elrond has agreed to give you the day off.â
âOh, so that is why you and him had been acting weird yesterday.â
Offended, Y/n straightened up so she was now sitting on him, âweird? I wasnât acting weird last night! You were!â
Lindir laughed at how indigent Y/n was at the prospect of her acting failing, he rested his hands on her thighs, âalright mel, I was the one acting weird. Now that I have the day off what do you wish to do?â
Laying back down beside Lindir, Y/n brought the blanket back up to their chests, âwell for one, I want to get some extra sleep, it is too early to be up yet.â
Lindir kissed Y/nâs forehead and smiled down at her, he couldnât believe that someone so sweet and caring as Y/n had taken an interest in him so much as to marry him, but for whatever reason that she had he was thankful, he would have probably run himself into the ground multiple times by now if it wasnât for Y/n.
âOkay, mel, would you like me to read aloud to you while you fall asleep?â Lindir reached over to the bedside table to grab the novel that he had been wanting to read for awhile, but hadnât had the time to due to work.
âPlease, I would love that.â And so Y/n fell back to sleep while Lindir read, it would be another two hours until Y/n got up and they both decided to have a lazy day and finally catch up with each other.
While Y/n was sleeping, close to when he knew she would wake up, he went to the kitchens and gathered a breakfast for the both of them and put it on a breakfast table so they could have breakfast in bed, something neither had indulged themselves in in close to a hundred years.

It was only an hour before we were supposed to go out with my friends and Jasper was freaking out. He kept worrying about my friends not liking him, or them thinking that I deserve better, or him losing his control.
I wasnât too concerned about my friends not liking Jasper, they were normally pretty chill and knew that if I wasnât happy or if Jasper was treating me bad then I would speak up about it and handle it myself. That didnât mean that they wouldnât give him a talking to while I was in the bathroom or something, but I knew that they werenât gonna scare him away or say anything bad.
But even with my reassurance that my friends would like him Jasper was still worried, and I knew what it was like, when I had first met his family I was a nervous wreck even when Jasper was telling me that they would like me.
âBabe, itâs okay, theyâll like you, I know it, weâve already talked about you and they know that you make me happy and I really like you, and theyâre normally really easy going anyway.â I stood in front of him as he was sitting on the edge of the bed. Taking his head in my hands I placed a kiss on each of his cheeks, on his forehead, his nose, and finally on his lips, just like he normally did to me when he calms me down.
âBut what if they donât like me, what then?â
âThen they wonât say anything about it, they respect that I know how to make myself happy and I know whatâs best for me and theyâll support me dating you.â I rubbed my hands down his arms, trying to distract him from his thoughts with my touch.
âBut-â
âNo, no buts, theyâll like you, I promise.â I held his head and made him look me in the eyes to show how serious I was and that I wasnât just saying things to get him to calm down.
The next 20 minutes was a mix between me getting ready and trying to comfort Jasper. I felt really bad, in all the time I have known him Iâve never seen him so distraught and doubtful in himself, but I knew he would stay like that until we met with my friends and they started talking.

The entire drive to the dive bar that my friends and I have agreed to meet up at was spent giving Jasper little phrases of encouragement and holding his hand. I was also trying to push my feelings of confidence on to him to give him a little boost too.
When we finally pulled into the parking lot and stopped the car Jasper looked like he wanted to run off and if I didnât feel so bad for him I would have laughed. A 200 year old vampire who served in the civil war and trained new born vampires, who were a lot stronger and faster than him how to fight was nervous at meeting a handful of my friends, I kinda found the sentiment cute, at least he cared enough to try and make sure they got along and like him.
Walking into the dive bar hand in hand with Jasper it didnât take long for me to spot my friends in a booth in the back corner. They had already gone ahead and ordered appetizers and drinks for us all, knowing exactly what I would order and what I liked.
Walking up to them I introduced each of my friends to Jasper and Jasper being the gentleman that he was made sure to shake each of their hands. From the looks and grins that my friends shared with each other I could tell that already they approved of him, liking the fact that he had manners and wasnât being rude to them like some of my exes were.

The night passed rather uneventfully, conversation and food was shared between everyone and halfway through the night I could feel Jasper relax against the booth and open up to them even more. By my friends' reactions I knew that they approved of him and thought we were a perfect fit, I would no doubt be getting text messages from them in the group chat talking about how nice he was.
We all left at the same time and with some parting words by the door Jasper and I made our way towards his car. He waited until we were in the car with the door closed before he said anything, âso I guess that means that they liked me then?â
âOh definitely, weâve all met a few of eachotherâs partners a couple times before and you were by far the one that we all got along with the most, they absolutely adore you.â Just as I finished saying that my phone vibrated in my back pocket, signifying that I got a message.
Opening up my phone I saw that they had all been texting in the group chat and laughed at the things they said
Heâs hot, like really hot, where did you find a man like that?
And respectful, donât forget that, those southern boys always have good manners, maybe I need to take a trip down to the south

I read the messages out loud to Jasper who laughed and relaxed more, no doubt if he was still human he would be blushing from the praise by now. Quickly I texted out a reply as Jasper pulled out of the parking lot to go back home.

Putting my phone back in my pocket I felt my phone vibrate a lot more on the drive home but didnât look at it, knowing that me not answering was going to drive them crazy.
Laughing softly I took Jasperâs hand in my own and brought his hand to my lips, looking over he grinned at me and I returned the gesture, overall the night had been a success and I knew my friends would be grilling me for more information.

It was like any other normal day in Imladris, nothing had given away the fact that later that day something very interesting was going to happen. Elrond had woken up just as the sun had started to come up and had gone to go for a morning run and brief sparring session with Elladan and Elrohir and by the time Lindir had knocked on the door to Elrondâs quarters to escort him to breakfast and debrief him on the plans for the day Elrond had already washed up, gotten dressed, and read over some important letters and notes.
It was only later that day, during the early afternoon that things changed. Elrond and Glorfindel had arranged to go for a ride around Imladris as a way to relax and catch up with how the other was doing.
Elrond and Glorfindel were almost halfway around the borders of Imladris when Glorfindel had looked up and saw something large falling from the sky, pointing at it he called out to Elrond, âlook at that, do you think one of the birds hurt their wings?â
Elrond looked to where Glorfindel was pointing and saw what he as talking about, âlooks pretty big for a bird, maybe one of the great eagles? Câmonâ he urged his horse to canter in the direction of where it looked like the eagle was gonna fall, which happened to be in the forest that surrounded Imladris. As Elrond and Glorfindel got closer they had to slow their horses down to weave between the foliage, up ahead they could just make out what looked like a meadow in the forest and with their elven eyesight they could see a giant crater.
Whatever it was the had fallen would have been quite big and had fallen extremely fast to create a hole like that.
Carefully they made their way to the outside of the meadow and dismounted of their horses, ready to walk up to the crater and find out what it was that had fallen. As they made their way closer they made eye contact and put their hands on the swords that they kept strapped to their hips whenever they left the borders of Imladris.
Glorfindel fell back to make sure that nothing attacked or came up behind them as Elrond progressed forward and looked into the crater. The crater was about 6 metres (20 feet) wide and almost 3 metres (10 ish feet) deep.
Inside the crater Elrond the only thing Elrond saw was two big, fluffy white wings that shielded the body of the bird. Slowly stepping into the crater and making his way closer to where the bird was he crouched down, one hand still on sword just in case anything happened and moved the wings aside hoping that bird was alright and just injured. Instead of seeing a birdâs body and beak he was met with the body of a person and the face of a very beautiful female.
Immediately Elrondâs concern increased and he leaned forward to check for a pulse on the femaleâs neck, âYou need to come look at this!â He called over his shoulder to Glorfindel, he wanted to make sure that there was in fact an angel in front of him and that he was just hallucinating from all the stress and old age.
Elrond felt the girls pulse under his fingers, it was weak, but a lot stronger than he would have expected it to be. Glorfindel looked over Elrondâs shoulder at the angel as Elrond was preparing to pick her up to take her to inside Imladris.
âIs that aâŠ?â Glorfindel questioned, trailing off, unsure of what it was that he was really seeing.
âAn angel? Yes, now could you go grab my horse for me? We got to get her to the healing ward, I do not know about the healing properties of angels but even so, a fall from that distance and at that speed could not have felt pleasant.â
Elrond picked up the female carefully, trying to disturb her as little as possible knowing full well that if she had a spine injury it would only take one wrong move to do some serious damage.
Getting on his horse was even harder, not only was he ground mounting but he didnât have full use of either arm to help guide and stabilize himself getting into the saddle, but with Glorfindelâs help he managed to do it without disturbing the angel in his arms too much.
They made their way towards the main entrance much faster than they had left it earlier, neither of them had ever come across an angel in all the years of their lives and neither of them knew how durable they were and what the healing process was like for them, even Elrond, who was an experienced healer had no clue how to go about treating and handling an injured angel.
When they got inside the gates of Imladris they had one of the stable hands take the horses to cool down and be untacked while they continued on towards the healing ward. On their way there they met Lindir, who looked both confused and in awe at the presence of the angel in his lordâs arms.
âLindir, go round up all the senior healers that arenât currently at the healing ward, tell them about the patient and that Iâll debrief them on the situation when they get there.â Looking down at the angelâs face Elrond felt a bout of worry run through him, something in his gut told him that she would be important and the unsureness of dealing with an angel made him more worried than he had been for a while.

When Y/n finally came to she was very confounded by her surroundings, last she remembers was falling through the air towards a meadow, but now she was laying down in a white bed in what looked to be a healing ward, there were beds lining the walls with only one other person who was sleeping on one of the far beds.
Slowly sitting up she stretched her wings out behind her and flapped them a few times to make sure that they were injured. She doubted she had truly sustained any injuries from the fall and she knew that if she had they would most likely be healed by now but it was better to be safe than sorry.
Moving to sit on the side of her bed with her feet hanging off she looked around, confused as to how she got there and what to do know. As she was thinking that the door off to the side opened up and a brunet elf walked through them, walking directly to her.
âItâs nice to see that you are finally awake, MsâŠâ he trailed off, waiting for her to fill in the blank.
âY/n, sirâ Her voice wasnât that hoarse so she couldnât have been out for long, maybe a couple of hours at the most.
âMs. Y/n, and please call me Elrond, Iâm the one that found you when you first fell.â
âThank you for that, may I ask where we are?â
âWe are in Imladris, the last homely house east of the sea, I brought you here to be seen by healers,â Elrond said while gesturing to the healing ward, âand you are welcome to stay for as long as it takes you to recuperate, and even past then.â
âAnd the lord will not mind?â Y/n questioned unsurely and not wanting to overstay any welcome that she was given.
Elrond smiled down at Y/n finding what she said, coupled with her politeness to be very humourous, âas the lord of Imladris I can say with full confidence that you are welcome to stay as long as you wish.â

Elrond stayed by Y/nâs side for the rest of the evening, Y/n taught Elrond all about angels and Elrond shared tales he has heard of angels, Y/n laughing at how outrageous some of the stories were. Elrond loved making Y/n laugh, and he would never admit it but he had made up a story or two on the spot that was extremely outlandish just to hear Y/n laugh again.
Y/n decided that she would stay in Imladris as long as she was welcome, telling herself it was because how beautiful it was and how nice the residents were and it had nothing to do with the lord.
Elrond and Y/n continued to grow closer, sharing every meal with each other and spending most evenings out on a balcony or in the garden sharing nice wine and even better conversation.
Everyone in Imladris knew of the feelings the lord and the angel shared and they were all waiting rather impatiently for them to announce their courtship, it had even gone so far that Elladan and Glorfindel were playing matchmaker for them while Elrohir and Lindir watched in amusement, but didnât try and stop them.

It was almost a month after Elrond had first discovered Y/n and they were both sitting out on a balcony watching the sun go down. Elrond was caught staring at Y/nâs face, normally she was beautiful, but with the final rays of the setting sun hasting orange and purple hues across her face and colouring her wings and a slight blush from the couple of cups of wine she had had that day she was absolutely astonishingly breathtaking.
Out of the corner of her eye, Y/n could see Elrond staring at her, turning to face him she cocked her head in question, âwhat are you looking? Do I have something on my face?â
âNo, no, itâs just that you are, well, to put it simply your gorgeous, and no sunset on Middle Earth could ever compare to the beauty that stands in front of me.â
A deep flush spread across Y/nâs cheeks at the compliment and she shyly replied, âyouâre not too bad yourself.â
Elrond looked towards the sunset to gather his thoughts and gain some confidence before he began, âI donât know what may come of this,â he turned back to Y/n and looked her in the eyes to make sure she knew he was being sincere, âbut I would like to see where this relationship would go if we let it, so what Iâm trying to get at is, would you do me the honour of allowing me to court you?â
Y/n let out a wide smile at his words, glad that he seemed to be as infatuated with her as she was with him, âElrond, I would love to court you, I canât think of anything else that would bring me such happiness.â

The battle was one won, but not without many losses, everyone where you looked you could see the corpses of elves, dwarfs, orcs, and humans. I was thankful I was not among them, but that didnât mean that I had come out unscathed, every time I took a breath there was a sharp pain in my side and I could hear the wheezing, and I had someone gotten a cut on my forehead halfway through the battle and ever since blood had steadily pouring down my face and directly into my eye. For the past couple minutes or so I had been lightheaded and woozy.
I just had to make my way closer to the lonely mountain to get help, but it wasnât helping that I couldnât see straight and every couple of steps I would trip over my own two feet. At this rate, I would never make it to the lonely mountain before I collapsed, but still, I pushed forward, hoping to just get a little closer so that someone would be able to see me and help.
It couldnât have been two minutes later that my vision started going black around the edges and just as I saw a group of dwarves come into view my vision was completely overtaken with black and I could feel my body tipping forward to meet harshly with the ground.
âŒâłââłâŒ
The group of dwarves that Y/n had seen up ahead had been the company, minus Kili, Fili, and Thorin, fortunately, they had seen Y/n walking towards them and when she went down they had all raced towards in fear. Even at a distance, they had been able to see the blood steadily pouring down her face and had seen her stumbling and weaving like she couldnât walk properly. They all thought the worse as they were rushing to Y/nâs side but when they got there they realized it wasnât as bad as they thought.
That was until they heard how shallow her breathing was and the wheezing every time she took a breath. Most of them didnât have much medical knowledge beyond the basics, but it didnât take a healer like Oin to realize that something was very, very wrong.
As a group effort, they all started to gently maneuver her unconscious body closer to the opening of Erebor so that Oin could get his supplies and start treatment.
While the rest of the dwarves were doing that Dwalin and Bofur made their way towards Raven Hill, both to make sure that the sons of Durin were unharmed and tell Kili of the news.
Every dwarf in the company knew that Kili and Y/n both had feelings for each other, it was impossible to see to everyone except for Kili and Y/n. They had been extremely close for the entire journey and everyone dreaded to think about how Kili would react to the news of Y/nâs injuries.
When Dwalin and Bofur were almost to Raven Hill they saw the sons of Durin slowly making their way towards them with Kili and Fili on both sides of Thorin to help him walk. Dwalinâs immediate concern was the injuries his friend had sustained from his fight with Azog, which left it to Bofur to tell Kili about Y/n.
Kili could immediately tell that something was wrong by the way that Bofur looked at him and then looked away and refused to make eye contact.
âWhat is it? Who got hurt?â Kili left Thorinâs side, leaving his uncle to his brother and Dwalin in order to rush forward and meet Bofur.
âItâs Y/n, sheâs hurt pretty badly,â no soon had the words escaped Bofur before Kili was rushing towards the front wall of Erebor with the last of his energy. Â
When he finally got to the front wall of Erebor he looked around but couldnât find Y/n or anyone else from the company so he hastily climbed over the rocks and into the mountain hoping that he wasnât too late and that Y/n had enough strength left in her to hang on.
In a room, just off to the side from the main entrance he could hear the voices of the rest of the company talking in hushed voices and decided that was his best bet and made his way towards them.
Inside the room, he found Y/n laying on a table with the rest of the company surrounding her, there was a bandage wrapped around her forehead and one around her ribs. Kili quickly rushed forward and grabbed her hand, looking at Oin for an explanation of what was wrong with her.
âSheâs got a cut to the forehead and her three on her ribs are cracked on her left side. The forehead wound is only surface area, but itâs been bleeding pretty bad. The main problem is  bloodloss, we also have to make sure that she doesnât move and puncture a rib,â the reply came from Balin in replace of Oin, who was still bustling around mixing herbs for all the other injured.
Kili turned back toward Y/n with a grim face, the injuries werenât too bad but there was still a risk of losing her and she wasnât out of the woods yet, probably wouldnât be for a while.
As Kili went to brush Y/nâs hair away from her face contorted in pain and her eyes flicked open as she let out a low moan of pain, letting everyone in the room know that she was finally awake.
âAye, here lassie, for the pain,â Oin said as he came towards her holding a cup of dark brown liquid that looked like dirty water, âit ainât gonna taste pretty but itâll keep ya comfortable fer nowâ
With the help of Oin and Kili Y/n drank the herbal water, not without gagging and making it obvious that she did not enjoy the taste. Kili let out a weak laugh at her reactions, glad that she was finally awake.
It was Nori who soon after started shooing everyone out of the room, making excuses about going to help the other and find Thorin so that Kili and Y/n would be left alone to talk.
It was Kili who spoke up first, âI thought I lost you, never do that again,â his voice was sad and barely above a whispered mumble but Y/n could still make it out from how close he was.
âIt would take a lot more than that to get rid of me, Kili,â a hoarse chuckle escaped her, but was quickly stopped when she felt that pain in her side told her that she had at least one broken rib.
Looking at her sternly Kili replied, âitâs not a joke Y/n! I care for you⊠I-I think I may love you. I donât know what I would do with myself if I ever lost you.â
Gasping, Y/n looked over at Kili in wonder and used what little strength she had leftover to reach up and put her hand on his cheek, âI love you too, Kili. Oh, Iâve loved you for a while, but I was too stupid to say anything before now.â
Kili leaned into Y/nâs hand and put his hand over herâs to press into it harder, âI think I would like to court you if thatâs okay with you, amrĂąlimĂȘ.â
âI couldnât think of anything else I would rather do.â

Later that day the company went back to the room, only to open the door to find both Kili and Y/n asleep on the table with Kili gently cuddling Y/n. Sharing ecstatic smiles the company of dwarves quietly shut the door behind them, careful not to wake the two young lovers.
Even from a short look, they got at the two they all noticed the way that Y/nâs hard was braided back from her face, no doubt with a newly crafted bead holding it together behind her back.

Bilbo had been watching Thorin and Y/n closely for the past few days, when he had first met Thorin Bilbo had thought Thorin as a right old grump who looked at life a glass half empty, and that would be an easy thing to think, anybody who met Thorin without Y/n around would surely reach those conclusions too. But Thorin changed with Y/n around, he was happier, he smiled more, and was nicer to Bilbo too, although that was only because Y/n forced Thorin to play nice.
Thorin hadnât introduce Y/n as his wife, but anyone with an eye or an ear would be able to tell that Thorin and Y/n were in love, and had been for some time. Y/n was the only one of the group who could make Thorin laugh, or change his mind about something, and when the rest of the company was bone tired and just wanted to rest it was Y/n that talked Thorin into stopping for the day.
The wind had been heavy that day and the company had been climbing hills and rock for the majority of the day, progress had been slow but the company was still tired, Thorin had wanted to keep going and push the company to go further, most likely into the night. It was Y/n who had taken pity on the rest of the company, especially Bilbo when he had to stop and rest for the third time that day. She insisted that they stop for the night when they had finally reached level ground. Thorin looked like he wanted to complain and push more but a few whispered words from Y/n into his ear convinced him to stop for the night.
With Thorin and Y/n out in the forest looking for logs and stick to use for the campfire that night Bilbo finally asked the question that has been weighing on his mind, he nodded in the direction Thorin and Y/n had gone âhow long have they been together?â he asked the question openly to the company of dwarves not caring who gave the answer.
It was Nori who answered him, ânobody really knows, you see they had grown up together, and have been friends since they were wee little pebbles, nobody knows when the relationship really started because there was no real end of their friendship and beginning of their courtship.â
âTheyâve known each other that long?â asked Bilbo
âOh yeah, I can remember them running around all of Erebor, causing mischief and getting into the kitchen cupboards when they were younger, and they would always hold hands tooâ added in Balin from across Bilbo.
âWait they climbed in the kitchen cupboards?â asked Bilbo astonished, he tried picturing a smaller version of Thorin and Y/n climbing around in kitchen cupboards and causing mischief but he just could picture Thorin ever doing anything like that.
âOh that was a dreadful, terrible day! And the mess they made, oh by Mahalâs beard!â Bombur piped up in distress, clearly lost in the memory. By that time most of the company was paying attention to Bombur waiting to hear the tale of how their stoic leader had caused such a ruckus.
Seeing the rest of the company gathering around Bombur gave in, âoh alright then, Iâll tell yeâs the story. It would have been when they were 10 or 20 and went wherever they pleased inside Erebor. It was just after lunch after all the cooks had finished cleaning and had left to have a break before starting dinner, Thorin and Y/n had apparently gone into the kitchen to get a snack but none of the adults were there so they decided to get it themselves. Whatever they wanted had been in one of the top cupboards at the back so they both climbed on the counter, but they still couldn't find it and they didnât know exactly where it was either so Y/n climbed onto one of the shelves and Thorin climbed onto another to try and find it.â
âI walked in to find them both on the shelves and when I yelled I must have scared them because suddenly Y/n had knocked over the flour and Thorin had spilled the sugar.â At this point, the company was heartily laughing at the story but Bombur quickly shushed them so he could continue on and get to the best part, âshh, shh, wait, thereâs more, it gets better. Y/n was the first to get down and she must have slipped on the flour because next, I know sheâs grabbing at anything on the cupboard and counter to stay up and she ends up grabbing on to a bowl of eggs and cracked them all over her and the floor. Thorin also had trouble getting down and they both ended up with egg, flour, and sugar all over them.â He had to stop talking from laughing so hard, finally joining the rest of the companyâs laughter. âYou should have seen it, those two standing there covered in egg, flour, and sugar, it all on their clothes and in their hair, looking like they were about to get a good ole scolding.â
It was at that moment that Y/n and Thorin came up behind the company holding wood in their arms, they had obviously been able to hear the tail end of the story and knew exactly at what the company was laughing at.
Y/n looked to find the whole thing funny and had a smile on her face and her shoulders shaking in silent laughter, but Thorin was glowering at everyone, knowing full well he would have to work twice as hard to be intimidating now and that he would never hear the end of it from Kili and Fili.
Noticing Thorinâs sour mood Y/n put her stack of wood and piled it on the floor, taking Thorinâs too and putting it down. Reaching up on her tippy toes she planted a kiss on Thorinâs cheek that was slowly starting to turn pink, âoh come on dear, donât you remember how much fun we had when we were younger? Those were the good old days.â
Thorin looked down at his one and melted, he could never be bristly around Y/n, he grabbed her waist and hugged her to his side, âand they will be again.â
