Superfood Skin Masks
If you’re going organic, a good question to ask yourself is: would you eat it?
Most likely, your current mask contains lots of harsh chemicals and hard-to-pronounce ingredients. Why put something toxic that you wouldn’t ingest onto your face? Opt for one of these organic, easy to DIY masks instead and get your skin to shine like diamonds.
Soothing Oatmeal Mask
Here are the Ingredients you’ll need to make this calming mask:
• ¼ cup of oatmeal
• 1 tablespoon of raw honey
• ¼ – ½ cup of warm rooibos tea (if you don’t have rooibos, you can use camomile or another
herbal tea.)
• 4-6 drops of essential oils (rose and lavender are my favorites)
Directions
In order for this mask to be effective, you first need to grind the oatmeal in either a coffee or a spice grinder. Grind until you get a course, flour consistency. Next, stir in the honey slowly, adding the tea slowly to get a thick paste. After that, you want to add the essential oils and mix the whole concoction thoroughly. Apply with clean fingers, a washcloth, or cotton balls. Leave the mixture on for about a half hour. (The mask should be dry.) Rinse with warm water to remove, revealing hydrated, happy skin.
Green Superfood Mask
You may look ghoulish while wearing this mask, but the results leave you looking like a fairy godmother or ethereal goddess.
It may seem strange, but algae actually contains amazing skin benefits. Spirulina, a blue-green algae, is a superfood that helps to repair damage and hydrate dry skin. It’s also an incredible source of powerful antioxidants, contains tissue-strengthening chlorophyll, and calms red and irritated skin, making it the perfect choice for those suffering from redness, pigmentation issues, or rosacea.
Spirulina, which is a blue green algae is a skin (and body) superfood that can help rejuvenate and repair damaged skin and give you back that healthy glow that you might be currently lacking.
To make this mask, you’ll need:
* ¼ tsp of spirulina powder (easily found at most health-food/grocery stores)
* a few drops of filtered water
Directions:
Mix a few drops of filtered water with about ¼ tsp of spirulina. This should make a paste.
Apply the mixture to clean skin. (Make sure you use a cleanser before this step for maximum mask penetration.) Hang out for 20-30 minutes while it dries. Remove with a warm washcloth by splashing warm water on your face. Finish with your favorite organic toner (mine is rosewater) and a light moisturiser.
Egg White Acne-Fighting Mask
Egg whites are a wonderful, inexpensive way to fight acne. The protein, potassium, and riboflavin are all great for getting clear, glowing skin, repairing tissue, and retaining moisture.
In order to make this mask, grab:
* One egg white
* ½ teaspoon organic honey
* (Note: the original recipe calls for lemon juice, but since the acidity can be irritating, we skipped that step in our version.)
Blueberry and Yogurt Mask
This mask is pretty self-explanatory (and might make you pretty hungry).
You’ll need:
* a handful of fresh blueberries
* greek yogurt
Directions:
Mash your blueberries in a small bowl. Next, mix together your yogurt and the blueberries. Apply directly to your face and wait for 20 minutes. This mask is very hydrating and can help fight unwanted bacteria. (Blueberries are renowned for their ability to fight free radicals.) Just be sure to do avoid staining your clothes in the process!
Baking Soda Mask
This awesome, cheap mask from a blogger over at xoVain will help you maintain clear skin on a budget.
You’ll need:
* baking soda
* filtered water
Directions
Mix one and a half tablespoons of baking soda with a tablespoon of water. Cleanse with warm water and apply your baking soda mixture. Leave on for no more than five minutes (less if you have sensitive skin). The baking soda will lift off impurities, leaving you looking fabulous.
Optimize Your Skincare Routine
For maximum results, it’s best to do these masks once or twice a week. And it’s a good idea to do these after you’ve had a steamy shower. That’s because the steam opens pores, allowing the organic mask to penetrate deeper into the skin. Because the ingredients are fresh and spoil easily, keep them in the refrigerator in an air-tight container and pitch after about a week. (You don’t want to put decomposing produce on your skin. Freshness is key.)
Don’t have time to make the above masks? Then why don’t you give Nugg Face Masks a try? I love these handy small pod face masks to take travelling with me! Nügg uses “Natural Oil Dispersion’ technology mixing oil and water together at a rapid speed, resulting in tiny particles that can easily penetrate the skin. These all-natural pods also use nutritious ingredients like aloe juice and olive, cranberry, grape, and linseed oils. All of these masks are also free from parabens, petrochemicals, sulphates, synthetic dyes and synthetic fragrances. There are seven different options available in the range.
Do You Have Any Mask Tips?

Off to Be the Wizard by Scott Meyer book review
I took a chance with this book being way out of my routine read. It was very humorous, imaginative, and out of the box.I listened to the audible version and the narrator Luke Daniels was amazing. Martin found a file on the internet that he could use to change many things. The very original idea of time travel and magic was entertaining. Scott shows a great sense of humor i laughed many times. It is a recommended book if you would like a fun change! The characters are created without being overdone. With very little to no profanity, and a few adult jokes that children would in no way catch I would think this an incredibly good read even for our young readers.
About The Author Scott Meyer has been a radio DJ, a stand-up comic, a writer for video games, an office manager, and a pretend ghost bellhop.
He is the creator of the comic strip Basic Instructions, and has now written a novel.
He and his wife live in Florida, to be close to their cats.

Wow. I can say that this book had my attention from the beginning. Can you imagine being a young girl and finding out your father is a serial killer. Naomi was about to turn 12 in a few days. She was excited because she had asked her parents for a bike. Late one night her dad went outside and she thought that maybe he was putting together her bike. Unfortunately what she found would ruin her life. She followed him to an abandoned cellar. Waiting for him to come out, because she wanted a sneak peek. As he came out she saw something in him that was horrifying. She decided maybe it was a bad idea to see what he was doing when she heard what sounded like sobs. She was strong enough to go down and find Ashley. She helped Ashley to the police station and did what she needed to and turned her dad in. The story then takes you through her life with her family and growing up, keeping all of this hidden deep down inside. Until she met Xander. Now as an adult she is having to go through the horror again. She found a woman’s body. It showed evidence of the same things that her dad’s victims had. It was not as predictable as I thought at first, as I totally had the killer pegged wrong. I love that, that it takes you through turns that keep you guessing. Now this was a very good read kept my interest, did get a bit slow as she was growing up but I know it’s because the author was working back up to the suspense. Definitely a very well written book. The character build up was very good. Always a good pick with Nora Roberts.
I was very impressed with the high intensity of this thriller. I really enjoyed the character of Harry Bosch.
Retired LAPD he has now joined in with his brother Mickey Haller doing some PI work. Mickey is defending a former gang member who's been charged with the brutal murder of a woman - according to the cops and prosecutor, an open-and-shut case. Haller on the other hand thinks its been set up. The two join together because Haller needs the best man on this investigation. Harry is very much against working with Haller because he also thinks the man is guilty and doesn't want to take part in letting a guilty man free.
Haller has eventually wore down Bosch convincing him that he needs to investigate this case like a cop. Bosch takes the investigation seriously as he is now starting to see that there is something else.
This story was in my opinion a great read. I could not put it down. With the many twists and turns it held my attention.
Happy reading!!!
This book was recommended to me today, sounds like my type of story cant wait will be my next blog.
Good morning everyone. I hope you all have a great day!
My weekend book additions
There is a huge difference in the story telling by the two authors in this novella. Same characters, same town and situation. But Kendra Elliot’s story had my attention a bit more than Melinda Leigh’s.
Listened to this on audible as well and of course very happy with Kate Rudd’s narration as always.
I know it was a short story but i wished it would have been a bit longer.
Kendra has such a way with her characters that you feel like you know them personally. I would recommend this book.
