linking arms with soojin, yoorim leans her head against her friends shoulder, âi always hate the beginning of the night. everyoneâs way too boring until they have at least four glasses of alcohol in them.â she pouts. sheâs already noticed a couple guyâs lingering stares and makes a mental note of them. âyou ever feel like your life is just the same thing over and over again? youâre just operating on autopilot without really acknowledging any of it? like a bad case of deja vu.â
Soojin eyes Yoorim for a moment, turning her gaze from its perusal of the rich idiots they were surrounded by, and her brow twists with concern, reaching a hand up to cup the side of Yoorimâs head for a moment, so she could gently bump their noggins together in an awkward embrace of sorts.
âI kind of wish I did.â she says with a gentle laugh, thinking for a moment about how she felt like sheâd gone through life like a leaf on a stream, only ever pausing on one particular moment by accident, snagged on some river rock, before being swept away again, âOf course...I say that, though...itâs the whole grass is always greener, thing, right?âÂ
Sometimes she feels like her life was set to fast forward.Â
She reaches up to pry Yoorimâs hand from her arm, so that she can take it into her own, winding their fingers together with a smile. They were at a part, there was no need to get all existential when they could just ingest of more alcohol; that was practically Soojinâs mantraÂ
âLook, the only cure for boredom is action, letâs go find something to do...or something stronger to drink...â she snorts, taking a step forward and tugging her friend along.Â
