"With wearable tech and 5G, so hastened the Advent of the Source. The trickle of young people standing aimlessly dotting the landscape gave way to hauntings of virtual people embodying fractured experiences.

"When the first truly meta protocol emerged, connecting swarms of anonymous devices so people began to assist.

"At first wordlessly, strangers picked up groceries for their neighbors on the way home, coworkers have each other rides and swapped lunches and old clothes. Artist Yanno Kanno created patterns out of anonymous objects passed around in Manila and New York. When synthesized value emerged so then entire communities of strangers pooled their resources inadvertently buying large swathes of neighborhoods, collected by anonymous synchronized desires dictated by mechanisms no one fully understood.

"Then one day it came out that huge tracts of infrastructure were built without human direction, collections of companies owned by no one emerged, trying business after business, some succeeding some failing leaving a landscape of abandoned cities, satellites in space half working, and entire populations missing. "By the 2040s, digital communication literacy required at least 20 hours a week of continuous internet surfing.  In 2042, over 40% of universities in the United States had a course that required at least demonstrating that one understood the genealogy of memes.  Over 60% of these courses were part of a multi-semester course which included writing academic papers on memes, successfully create a viral video, while demonstrating that one could successfully defuse trolls to establish a background of mutual concern for the parties involved.  In 2044 the first PhD was granted that was nearly entirely given in citations and memes.  By 2055 the first science abstract was presented solely in meme form.

“The quick take-over of memes in human communication led to an entire generation of older people losing access to resources as the economy split into those who communicated in memes and those who used traditional language.  Memes would provide additional immunity for humankind as the rise of general artificial intelligence's influence remained unable to subvert humankind's hold on technological and economic power structures.

“In 2129 first contact was made with extra-terrestrials.  The quickness of change and cultural specificity of human communication prevented clear communication ensuing in a series of long term wars that resulted in the subjugation of humankind by a succession of aliens with superior technology.  Ironically, each conquest resulted in the aliens losing their culture and mode of communication as they too fell into memeification, which offered fresh epistemic anti-bodies that prevented subversion while always transferring authority and power back into the hands of humans."-From "A Short History of the Future", author unknown

I love to create elegant patterns using basic structures that fit situations and are scale invariant. I particularly like to do that with music, language, materialized forms, visual organizations and thought. I work best in low-pressure situations where I have the freedom to play and perfect patterns. I am at my best as researcher, and strategist who advises decision makers and provides direction to find creative angles to solve problems.
