maybe i’m just projecting but i think there’s an inherent loneliness in living with a severe mental illness that makes you feel permanently estranged from others and long for the kind of connection where you feel completely understood and accepted, all while knowing other people have their own stuff to deal with or are just not equipped to ride out the worst of the illness with you. this leads to downplaying and/or hiding your symptoms as best you can, which takes even more of a psychological toll on you. this leads to not feeling loved as a complete person, and maybe not recognizing that love when it is present, or always fearing the day people have had enough and leave. even more so if this has already happened to you. it’s so exhausting and sad

Walking with Our Sisters, is a project based out of Canada that focuses on commemorating missing and murdered Indigenous women. Each pair of vamp represents a woman who has gone missing or been murdered. A network of Indigenous people spanning across canada and the u.s. worked together to bead the vamps you see before you! 

I think this is a beautiful and respectful way of using art and indigenous traditions to solidify healing, solidarity, and the undue justice and peace that are sisters so deserve.

you are allowed to be proud of the victories that no one else can see. like showering without completely hating your body, not breaking into tears at the thought of the future, talking yourself out of a dark mindset, calming yourself down in public, or like waking up every single day and choosing life. be proud of the progress no matter if it is visible for others or not. you’re doing great, keep up the good work!

Gender abolition, but make it:

clothes sorted by body shape and style, instead of gender

removing unnecessary gender markers from non-medical documents like a driver's license

genderless bathrooms where the stalls have floor-to-ceiling walls for privacy

abolishing gendered toys, colors, professions, hobbies, etc.

they/them as the default if you don't know someone

And NOT:

trans and non-binary people being barred from identifying with and expressing their gender
