Where was his boyfriend? He knew it was hard on him that he couldnβt patrol and was limited to paperwork.
βDeku! Where are you? I bought home katsudon!β
Katsuki hoped his favorite food would bring him happiness but was met with silence. He checked his two bathrooms, and the three bedrooms.
No Deku.
Where was he?
βDeku? Where the fuck are you? Iβve looked everywhere!β
Katsuki thought his boyfriend would be in the apartment complexβs pool, roof, or the gym. Izuku was nowhere to be found. He was met with his voicemail and was not with his friends or at the local stores he visited often.

βDeku! Where were you? I couldnβt reach you when you said you would be homeβ
Katsuki exclaimed with worry about the other.
βKacchan! I left my phone at home and went for a walk... Iβm sorry I made you worry.β
Izuku answered with melancholy in his voice.
β...Donβt apologize, Nerd I was just worried about you. I bought you katsudon, do you want to eat together?β
βNo. Iβm okay... I just want to sleep but Iβll eat it later since I grabbed fast food outside! Thank you Kacchan. I appreciate the gestureβ
He smiled concealing his unhappiness for the past few months. He went to their shared bedroom after washing his hands and changing into sweats.
Katsuki trusted the pro-hero but has never heard him reject his favorite food. It was obvious he was facing dejection over his current situation.
Izuku has been sleeping more. It started with him sleeping in until the afternoon. When he suggested they take morning jogs instead of running, he became irritable. The last thing he wanted to do was go against their medical team's instruction.
When the two went out and encountered small-fry villains, Izuku was pushed to the side as Katsuki stalled until on-duty heroes arrived on the scene.
He knew it wasnβt easy for Izuku.

βBakubro! Howβs Midoriya?β
How was he? Katsuki watched the dejection in his face when he went down to number two. He watched the other keep the majority of his thoughts to himself.
Hero Deku was the number two hero.
Japan expected him to go back into action after one or two months but it extended to six. It was dangerous for his life to go back to saving lives and fighting villains. The world missed him.
βHeβs the same. I- I donβt know how to comfort him since rankings came outβ
Katsuki confessed while at lunch with Kirishima.
βThe same? I know he took it hard but... I would have expected him to come back to patrolling at the leastβ
βShitty Hair, Itβs not like that. Deku can patrol but itβs unlikely that he can work at the volume he did before. The agency reached out and he insisted that he needs more time even though our doctors said he could.β
The twoβs conversation about the hero dwindled to the daily happenings of each otherβs life. It was hard to discuss Izuku. His friends couldnβt bear to hear that he wasnβt doing well.

Katsuki had left for a mission. It was estimated to take months if it went smoothly. He was never the best with words but told his boyfriend to take care of himself properly.
Izuku was relieved when he had to leave. His mind felt fogged. Katsuki and his friends persistently asked him how he was but had no choice but to lie. When he was stressed he would work. Izuku loved working as a hero but it was simply impossible.

Uraraka, Todoroki, and his other friends reached out but it was meaningless. He insisted he was busy cleaning up the apartment and couldnβt hang out.
His plans were already made.
Izuku was going to end his life. People would love and miss him, but that didnβt matter. His feelings of despair overpowered any common sense.
He knew Katsuki would be devastated but that didnβt matter. The world was going to be left in the right hands. They had a new number one hero who wasnβt injured.
Izuku knew his place. It was pointless to exist if he was going to live this way.
He went to their home office and wrote out notes. Katsukiβs letter was the longest and hardest to write. It was left under his pillow to find when he returned to Japan. His friends and familyβs notes were scattered over his desk. He knew they would be shocked and shattered hearing the news but It was meaningless to stop him.

Izuku figured pills were the best way out. The sounds of people were muted in his apartment. It was his final moments and he didnβt want to back out. What was the point of living if this was his life? Katsuki would be happier without him. The blonde showed his grave concern in the past few months.
It was time.
He took medicine that Katsuki never threw out and took it with his strong pain relievers.
Izuku chose a rainy day to terminate his life and he was relieved. He wasnβt sure how many pills he took but his skin was cold. His breathing became shallow and started to regain and lose consciousness a few times.
He laid on his couch conscious of the symptoms of an overdose he was experiencing but that was the least of his concerns.
Izuku's thoughts were on Katsuki. He thought of his last memories with him. He missed his motherβs homemade katsudon and his boyfriend promised to make it for him.
Would he bring the ingredients the day he came back from the airport?
No. Katsuki would make it the day after. He was always exhausted and went straight to bed after coming home from a long day.
Izuku would miss that. He would miss his boyfriendβs affection. The cooking, head pats, forehead kisses, and constant love that he would get.
They had a good relationship. He was astounded at the blonde's growth in life and had only love for him. Katsuki was the first person he fell in love with, and the last he would love.
He turned over on the couch to see his boyfriend smiling back at him. He smiled back before realizing it was a hallucination.
Izuku turned back to the ceiling feeling content with the life he had. He knew he had the greatest friends, parental figures, and the best boyfriend. He was paralyzed and scared to move. It felt hard to breathe and soon lost consciousness
His last thoughts were of his friends, family and in the forefront of his mind, Katsuki.

Katsuki came back from his mission as soon as possible. He stopped by the grocery store to buy ingredients for Izukuβs favorite dish. If anyone was at the airport, he dashed past them and went straight home. He wanted to be with his loved one.
He looked forward to the joy on Izukuβs face when he got his mothers exact recipe.
The apartment door was open. It was odd since Katsuki didnβt alert the other that he was coming home. When he entered he saw his friends stand in the middle of his living room.
Where the fuck was Izuku?
βBakugo.. You should sit down before you hear the news..β
He was perplexed on what they wanted to tell him but he complied and sat at the edge of the couch before hearing the eye-opening information that Izuku passed away overdosing on pills while he was gone.
