Thank you to everyone who’s given my fic a chance despite the scary-sounding premise (cause let’s face it, ao3 is a gamble with a lot of topics), and who’s continued supporting me through updates. This has genuinely been one of my favorite things I’ve ever written, and Eijiro’s story has taught me a lot about portraying healing through connections with other people, whether familial, platonic, or romantic. It’s also allowed me to explore something I’ve always thought to be true: It’s not the trauma that makes you strong, but the determination to heal and turn yourself into someone stronger.

Bio (au differences): Eijiro experienced some of the worst life has to offer and came out the other end a person determined to be strong no matter what. He never expected to be a dad so soon, and while he wishes circumstances were different, he loves his daughter with everything he has. His moms have been his number one supporters through it all, being his shoulders to cry into on difficult days, helping him learn the ropes with Eiko, and even taking care of her when he first started at UA. At UA, he was able to grow his and Eiko’s family a little more, first with Mina and Mr Aizawa, and then his entire class, who welcomed Eiko with open arms when she came to stay in the dorms after the war. Relationships scared him at first, both because of his past and the self-awareness of his own situation, but Izuku and Katsuki helped to break his walls down. They’re patient with him, and accept every part of him. They also have no problem including Eiko and recognizing her importance in his life, which feels like an absolute dream come true for him. He hopes the four of them can be a real family someday.

Bakugo Katsuki💥

Bio (au differences): Katsuki had done a lot of changing and adapting the last few years. If his middle school-self met him today, he’d probably explode on the spot. Half-deaf, half-paralyzed in one arm, in heart failure, yet still working to be a hero. He’s not just friends with Izuku, but dating him, and Eijiro, too. He’s not sure how his past self would’ve reacted to him having multiple partners, but honestly, he couldn’t be happier. Both of them embrace that he doesn’t always show love in the same way as everyone else, and recognize he’s better at showing his love through actions instead of words. The thing middle school him would be most surprised by, though, is the fact that he’s grown attached to a kid. Eijiro’s kid. Eiko. Before he met her, he never saw himself having a family, and yet, he can’t imagine a future without all three of them. He wouldn’t ever admit it out loud, at least not yet, but he hopes there comes a day when Eiko recognizes him as one of her dads.

Midoriya Izuku🐰

Likes: All Might, taking notes on heroes, heavy metal, helping others, silly shirts, Eijiro’s hoodies, letting Eiko put stickers on his prosthetic and notebook covers

Dislikes: Phantom limb pain, feeling like he’s useless without his quirk, his bio dad

Bio (au differences): Izuku struggled a lot as a kid. His dad abandoned he and his mom after he was diagnosed as quirkless. He was bullied quite heavily, for both his quirk status and being trans, and didn’t really have any friends until he got to UA. Eijiro was the first trans person his age he ever met, and he admired him for his strength and courage to be so open right off the bat to people he just met. It helped him to be brave and open up, too. After the war, he lost OFA, rendering him quirkless again. He also walked away with half a limb less than he had before, losing his left hand and most of his forearm. It was definitely a big adjustment on both fronts, but he was fortunate to get a killer prosthetic from people in the support course. Now that he’s dating Eijiro and Katsuki, he often finds himself daydreaming about their future. He wants to do all the domestic stuff people in serious relationships get to do, and he wants to do all the family stuff people with kids get to do. Even when everything else seems uncertain, he knows deep down that he’s found love that will last the rest of his life.

Bio: Eiko has known nothing but love from the moment she was born. She missed her dada a lot when he first went to UA, but after his first year and a few scary weeks during the war, she got to stay with him, her Auntie Mina, and all his friends at hero school! Now she’s surrounded by so many people who care about her and would do anything to make her happy. She was very happy when her dada made Izu and Kats his princes, because now she gets to spend extra time with them, and see her dada super duper happy! She really likes when they take her with them on some of their dates, like going to a cat cafe or the aquarium, and when they help her dada take care of her. Her favorite thing is to be snuggle up with the people she loves, safe and warm and happy.

and like,, actually I think he was fs a discord kid in middle school, since he didn't have any irl friends he joined a server for quirkless kids, a server for hero fans (met kirishima there bc YK he was one too (online childhood friends kirideku ftw!!)), and one for lost media.

I've been watching a bunch of lost media stuff recently, and it's actually so interesting, and I think deku would love that kind of thing. I think he'd enjoy the lost media wiki and try to do as much research as possible on them. He'd probably especially love lost footage of villain attacks. Just imagine 13 year old deku on his computer talking to a bunch of like 30-40 year olds giving information on an all might battle from like 20 years ago to try and rediscover lost footage 💀💀💀 internet sleuth/stalker deku is actually so funny lmao

Imagine class 1a has a talent show, and when it's deku's turn, he picks a volunteer and goes, "ik it's not super cool like your impressions 😅😅 but I'm really good with computers! I managed to find your childhood home, middle school, birth certificate, grandparents' house, and 3 out of 5 of your spam accounts on Instagram :33" and everyone is just 😧😧😧 oh!!

LMAO, bakugo thought his quirk analysis journals were stalkerish? Nahhh that wasn't even the SURFACE. He def watches those 3 hour videos talking about the lost media icebergs or like the really long videos talking about singular theories or the fnaf lore or something. BONUS kirideku for the soul : Kirishima and Deku were friends on Discord in a hero server and did friendly debates on Crimson Riot vs. All Might. Kiri knew he was quirkless and didn't care because he liked him regardless. Kiri was really nice to him even though he didn't have a quirk, and deku developed a crush on him. They didn't know what the other looked like, simply that they were the same age and were both bullied at school, had similar interests, etc. When Kirishima told him he'd been accepted into UA, deku didn't tell him that he had as well, bc with all his sleuthing stuff, he ended up using a pseudonym online. Upon meeting kirishima irl, he was happy to know he was, in fact, real (and attractive). He thought kiri would be disappointed in how he looked, plus explaining his quirk thing would be hard, so he never said anything. But kirishima treated him just as kindly irl as he had online, so he confessed, but kiri said he was in love with someone else, a boy he'd met online years ago ("as cringey as it sounds") that he hoped to meet irl one day. So deku explained that he was the one that kiri had been talking to, and with the proof, they started dating :333
