Transphobia is about to be signed into law in the UK. We can fight this.
I am begging the UK trans community and its allies to attend the Mass Lobby at Parliament on June 25th, 11am-4pm, organised by Trans Solidarity Alliance.
Last year we broke the record for an LGBT+ mass lobby of Parliament. Will you help us break it again? Join us on 25th June 2026 to demand be
The new EHRC Code of Practice pushes trans people out of toilets, hospital wards, and community spaces. It normalises gender policing based on appearance and stereotypes. It becomes statutory guidance in the UK by the end of June.
Trans people are now legally their assigned gender at birth and must join gendered spaces accordingly, but if they are perceived as their lived gender, they can also be ejected from those spaces. The guidance says: either break the law, or don’t pass too well.
A mass lobby is where you invite your MP to discuss your concerns with you in-person. Ask your MP to:
Demand full parliamentary scrutiny, debate, and use their free vote on the EHRC Code of Practice.
Support any motions rejecting the EHRC guidance. As of June 4th, Labour MP Nadia Whittome has submitted a prayer motion - Early Day Motion 240.
Write to Bridget Phillipson, the Minister for Women and Equalities about our concerns
Your MP does not have to be an ally, they do not have to respond to your email for you to show up and greencard them (details below the cut.) What matters is that as many people as possible show up.
I cannot stress this enough: Showing up in person matters. It is much more effective than petitions, emails, and letters.
It is a horrible, stressful time, and I am so sorry if you're trans and live in the UK. But I was at last year's mass lobby and the line for greencarding alone stretched around the back gates. It was a record breaking mass lobby and made us impossible to ignore. Let's do even better this time. Details under the cut:
If you don't want LinkTree putting your imagery into AI... get out now
Just canceled my account (not that I used it that much). But I won’t permit this. Via @unaminh.bsky.social:
IMPORTANT: For any artists/writers/etc etc, using Linktree to point people to their work, from 5 July, they'll be feeding all imagery you use on your landing page into DALL-E by OpenAI.
…Just so you know.
If you’re still on windows 10 it’s there as well. Tho it’s under Devices>typing>typing insights.

I took photos of a chipmunk and wanted to use them for collages as usual, but they were so grainy that I traced over them and made drawings instead.
sometimes you gotta put all your dudes in one basket
On another plant news, spider plant cuttings are growing roots hooray! Just took a while. I was looking at them now and again like "aw nothing, but it's not rotting either..", but the jade plant cuttings were not that lucky, I think I did just like the instructions said and still they rotted. I have no idea.
Fuck! Just now learned that apparently some plants don't like aluminum. I've been wondering why my tomatoes are not growing very well lately. I have been using aluminum support sticks from them. :C
hi trans kiwis and friends. if you haven't seen the news, they're trying to pass a frankly insidious bill in aotearoa to define the terms 'man' and 'woman' based on biological sex. this unsurprisingly reflects a lot of similar cruel efforts happening overseas at the moment. IT HASN'T PASSED YET, but I figured I should speak up about it because this is happening as we speak.
(screenshot from the linked RNZ article)
it seems very fucking bleak!!!! please don't lose hope! it hasn't passed yet and a lot of the shoddy bills suggested by the coalition have been shot down already. it's still worth knowing about. you don't have to share this post if you don't want to. I just know that a lot of my followers are kiwi. if there are any updates as to what we can do to push back against this, I'll make a relevant addition. kia kaha, okay? love you all.
UPDATE: you can now very quickly and very easily submit a comment on the bill! these will be counted and considered in parliament.
it took me less than three minutes, and that's only because I wrote a whole paragraphs on why this is a stupid idea. all you really need to put is "don't pass this bill" if you want. it'll only take 30 seconds.
if you're able to and you want to, please consider reblogging! the more reach this gets, the better. thank you all so much [:

Sorry for us politics posting, but we have until May 22, 2026 to submit public comment to the FCC:
More info from GLAAD:
https://glaad.org/fcc/
They have some good tips about writing a comment and protecting your privacy which, fuck it, I'll just paste here:
Providing an email address is optional. If you have concerns about privacy, you may use your initials or public address in your local area, such as City Hall. Do not use a joke name. It diminishes the comment’s credibility.
Your submission does not need to be long. A single, well-reasoned paragraph is sufficient.
Do not copy/paste a template comment. The FCC values unique perspectives, and an original comment carries significantly more weight in the public record. You can explain why this matters to you without revealing private or sensitive personal information.
Here's what I said:
“Free speech is a fundamental American freedom. I do not need a warning about seeing queer people, much like I do not need a warning about women, veterans, or any other group of people.”
Here's the link to submit your comment by May 22:

I think I have mentioned my box of unread books I've bought over the time for cheap from thrift shops and such. Finished one and picked up another from the box, an old paperback. 'Oh there's someone's old bookmark in here...a card sized almanac from 1979? in German?' Thrift books are so fun.
I'm not completely grumping though. I'm having such nice time with my plants. I made this booklet with pages for my every plant, with notes and watering needs and light needs, and then I made a month chart about what weeks a plant needs watering and nutrienting. Also made some namecards for the plants' pots, that's why I was looking for identification sites earlier.
Took BeadCreature Jr out to look at the lily-of-the-valley and aquilegia plants.
For context, here's a portrait of Jr and Ma BeadCreature from summer 2024.
Bleh, I'm being such a grumpy grumperson today. Trying to find something fun to play. Tried Waking Mars, the story is interesting but managing roomful of the plants and driving around the alien bugs again and again got tedious fast. I have tried to play it 3 separate times, I suppose I'm not going to finish it.
Well, how about some dungeon crawling, thought I, that's always fun. Ah Legend of Grimrock, I could try that. ..it starts at the edge not being completely turn-based, but I can deal with that if otherwise it's fun. ..I'm sorry how fast those torches burn out? A whole giant snail gives 1 measly food chunk? How about no.
Mmmaybe they have made some changes in the second Grimrock, I'll try that. Well first the game keeps freezing and glitching. After some adjustments it seems to work. Still the active time fights, but lets see. Oh 'actions drain the food bar' okay sounds manageable. But after fighting a couple of turtles- what's that- the whole party is so fucken hungry! I didn't see you back row peeps swinging the branches and bone clubs, why are you so hungry all of a sudden? Yeah no. Maybe it's back to Dwarf fortress again..
