as i get older the more i think theresa is just objectively a funny character, as much as i hate her still. she will look at you and say "your enemy received a prophecy that you will stop him and now he's trying to kill you." okay and who told him the prophecy. ma'am i know you're a seer. why did you do that.

she's such a formative character for me i'm only realizing now, even as i've held a real hatred for this woman for over a decade at this point. here's this ancient prophetic woman who just shamelessly manipulates you to get what she wants and shes not even necessarily evil, she is helping you stop the destruction of the world, but also she caused this directly because she wanted the outcome she's delivering you to rather than avoiding all this shit and just having a normal time.

if you never played the fable games i need to put this as plainly as possible: in the second game she manipulates a man into making a nuclear silo filled with nuclear bombs so she could live in it, but to do so she needs to get rid of him after he's made the nuclear bombs, so she makes sure you're nearly killed by him so that you are sent on a 20 year long path of bloody vengeance to kill him for her. all so she can live in a nuclear silo. the game ends with her going "okay now never talk to me again" and banishing you from her new house, the nuclear silo. tens of thousands of people died making this btw. she at any point can blow up the entire world.

there was no reason for her to do this

Okay but imagine instead of generic Darkness enemies, when you go to rescue Walter, the Crawler sends a shadow!Logan to fight you, and its basically an impression of your brother on the worst day of his life, fighting to survive as his men all die around him. Maybe there are minion shadows that, as you kill them, has 'Logan' yelling out the names of the men who died like you're the Darkness killing them in front of him and it makes him fight harder all the while he's insisting that he will get home, he has to get back to his sibling and that it won't take them from him.

And then you kill the shadow, and as it dies it suddenly recognises you as his little brother/sister and it dies wondering why you'd do this. And suddenly HOBW goes from being so certain that they're going to fight Logan and take him down and maybe even kill him, to being so deeply shaken to have killed even just a shadow of their brother, now realising that he fought and clawed his way back from hell for their sake.

Like damn, that'd have been a way to include a Logan boss fight even if the real Logan would choose not to fight his sibling, and it'd really force HOBW to take on a whole new perspective wrt their brother.

I had headcanons that the Hero of Bower Lake died when the Hero of Brightwall was still young, and Logan needed to take care of them in some way. Of course, there were also Walter Beck and Jasper, but Logan is still the older brother. I played as women in Fable II and Fable III, so that's why I draw them.
