More Than Just Binary Code
“I think we can handle it,” said Tony. “Unless you want to supervise personally.” He just couldn’t resist flirting with her, especially when it seemed to unnerve her so. “What do you say, Miss Potts?”
He wondered if he could freak out Maya this way, too… maybe Jarvis would allow him this time.
“We’ll manage fine, Ms. Potts,” Jarvis replied, “assuredly by now the tower has seen stranger things than this.” well, not by much, but the statement still stood.
Pepper smiled, resting a couple fingers against her chin, “I say I have a business meeting to attend in Monaco in 14 hours,” she said, “I’m calling in Happy,” she added, calling after Jarvis’ retreating form, “You know how he gets when you play with strangers.”

So, to keep my followers updated, I have constructed a blog to which I plan to move Jarvis too, the only reason I have not as of yet is my complete inability to decide on a url.
If anyone has any ideas I’d be very grateful as I’ve hit a snag. Should I keep the current url?? And add “archived” to this one to mark the transition, or should I come up with something new?
More Than Just Binary Code
“I hadn’t even thought of that,” Tony admitted - his own safety wasn’t always his first concern. “Um… I think I can handle seeing Maya, but if Killian walks in here I’m likely to punch his lights out. We… weren’t on good terms last time we met in my universe.” He glanced at this world’s Pepper, wondering… could she? He wasn’t sure he could handle that.
“I assumed you hadn’t,” Jarvis said with a half-smile, this was the human version of the AI that didn’t bother updating his own CPU without a command but ran diagnostics on the bots out of sheer boredom, “TONY, call Dr. Hansen,”
Jarvis had to admit he was a bit curious about what being on “bad terms” with Dr. Killian would entail, he was a previous crippled chemist who scarcely completed his rehabilitation, there really was no telling. Pepper glanced at Tony for a moment.
“Are you boys going to be alright on your own?”

so there is a chance I might be moving Jarvis soon ( don’t freak out ) the only reason behind this would be to give him his own blog, as this is a sideblog to a main I no longer use.
The only thing is is I am very, very lazy.
More Than Just Binary Code
“No… just another difference, then,” said Tony carefully. “You don’t happen to know a woman named Helen Cho, do you?” If Maya and Killian were working on synthetic flesh… had that switched, too.
Jarvis looked over to Pepper, while he was usually quite good with names, she was the one who held the employee docket in the end. She shrugged, “It sounds familiar, maybe SHIELD?”
The blond nodded, “TONY, would you run a quick check for individuals with the name Helen Cho, filter to those that have been involved in Stark Industries or SHIELD,” that would keep him busy for a bit, he turned back to his AI’s human counterpart, “We should probably call them down to look at you, heaven knows what kind of radiation you may have been exposed to.”

“She’s, uh…” Toby shrugged. “She was my surrogate mother, so she’s kind of like family. She likes to know what I’m up to.” That probably sounded weird, he realized suddenly, as if she were spying on him. He knew she wasn’t, that she just worried about him, but what would this man think about it?
Jarvis nodded slowly, “I will run a security scan while we fetch your things, if she doesn’t prevent a significant security risk she will be informed immediately,” for the boy’s sake, Jarvis hoped she wasn’t, he may have spent most of his existence as a program, but he understood the human concept of a “mother” was very important. He knew how losing his effected Mr. Stark.
Is This What I think It Is?
Toby gave him the address. “I’ve got a lot of cameras,” he said, “but I’m not a spy or anything. They’re kind of a hobby. Uh… is it all right if I tell Agent Fa where I’m gonna be?” He wasn’t as much in touch with his surrogate mother as he felt he ought to have been, but it wouldn’t seem fair to move someplace and she wouldn’t be able to located him.
“A decent spy would possess better than cameras and know not to keep them at their own address,” Jarvis stated simply, covering the microphone of his phone momentarily before rattling off the address the man gave him and hanging up.
“Agent Fa?” the name sounded vaguely familiar, perhaps he’d seen it one of the times he’d scanned through SHIELD’s database, (the fact he missed Toby was frusturating, and the android had already resolved himself to another thorough look after this was resolved, “May I ask why?”
More Than Just Binary Code
Tony blinked. “Maya and Killian… you know them?” that was… worrying. “How well? Are you aware what they’re working on?” Maybe this world was different… enough stuff was different that Maya and Killian could have been the good guys. But Tony did want to be sure.
After all… this was Jarvis. Talking to this man right here, right now, was probably the closest Tony would ever get to having JARVIS back. He didn’t want him to come to any harm in the future.
“Their working on the production of synthetic flesh, I believe that was what Dr. Hansen wrote in her last report,” to be honest, Jarvis had never paid close attention, the medical department of the company was more about “shutting up the hippies” as Mr. Stane often explained, but as it was now, they had never given Jarvis a reason to worry.
“Is their something wrong, Tony?” in a universe where Tony was Iron man, he truly wondered about the others. It must have been somewhat better with a more assertive force at the head.
Is This What I think It Is?
“Thanks,” said Toby, and got up also, keeping his head turned away from Jarvis. He’d come here for a job and was now more or less a prisoner, and the really sad thing about his life was that was probably an improvement.
“I’m gonna need one of those van taxis,” he said, getting his phone out. “I don’t really have any furniture or anything.” He’d been sleeping on an air mattress on the floor. “But I’ve got some other stuff.” Hopefully he’d be allowed to keep his cameras… he was already worried they’d be considered evidence that he was some kind of spy.
Jarvis understood that this situation was less than ideal for the younger man, but he had no intention of making it any worse than it needed to be. Jarvis had a responsibility to ensure Mr. Stark’s safety, and logically, Toby would be safer this way as well.
“It should be no problem, I can have one at the door in a matter of minutes, where are you currently staying?” he asked, taking out his Stark phone (that was much more difficult to operate from the outside).
OPEN
“All right,” said Toby. He fiddled nervously with a sheet of paper. “I don’t think I’ve met Dr. Cho. She’s a biologist, right?” What would this woman think of him?
Jarvis watched Toby for a moment, while he was not as good at reading into emotions as some, he was similar enough to Tony in the manner in which he expressed his discomfort that the android was able to catch on, “She’s a doctor, she had a hand in creating the Vision and subsequently, myself, you have little need to worry.”
Suicide {a-heartofsteel}
Jarvis shouldn’t have to not complain. He worked hard at a shity job. Tony shouldn’t be like this. He shouldn’t be so depressed. He had been prone to it in high school but he had just drank or done drugs to feel better and fucked around. Now he just stayed in an apartment by himself most the day and it festered.
As Jarvis pulled his hands away he just sort of looked lost. He looked at his best friend and rubbed his eyes to get rid of the tears. His face was red, eyes puffy…He looked down but took Jarvis’ hand again.
“I’m sorry, Jay,” he said choked up. “I’m sorry. I don’t know what’s wrong with me. I shouldn’t feel this way. You do so much for me and I just…I…Fuck.” He pressed his face against his shoulder and shook his head. “I’m sorry.”
Jarvis would have likely ended up working hard and a shitty job regardless of whether or not he had ever met Tony again, it would have just been the shitty job his parents wanted him to have, and he would have been devoid of his best friend as he had been for so many years. He knew Tony was lost-- more than anything he knew that, in some ways, he was as well, but he had never tried to play the “Agony” game with Tony, it was one the other would assuredly win.
The blond ran his thumbs over Tony’s wrists, giving his hand a light squeeze. He wouldn’t push him, he just wanted things to be okay now, maybe that was selfish-- but he needed his friend.
“I know, I know you’re sorry Tony,” he held the shorter boy close when he leaned into his shoulder, uncaring of what the nurses would possibly think of them, he placed a gentle kiss over Tony’s forehead, “Shhh, you’re safe now.”
We must never confuse elegance with snobbery.

Suicide {a-heartofsteel}
Tony felt utterly sick and guilty and terrible. He felt himself start to tear up and quickly turned away from Jarvis. Their hands were together and Tony had to pull his hand away. His knees came up to his chest and he pressed his face against his knees.
With everything that happened Tony just couldn’t hold himself together anymore and the glue Jarvis had been using to carefully piece him back together cracked. He just crying.
“Jesus…you know,” he said as he shook his head slowly. “You say that but I can’t believe it. It’s not that I think you’re lying but I just looking at everything I’ve done, what I am, what I’ve become, and I can’t imagine you wanting to stick around or wanting to help…” He sighed.
When Tony turned away, Jarvis came closer almost instinctively. He wished he had complained less, griping about his boss every once and a while had been a favored pass time of the the blond. It wasn’t that bad, and the thought that he could have made Tony think.. think that he was a burden, made his stomach churn.
“You’re still my best friend, Tony, you never-- you never changed to me. I saw that you were hurt, of course I want to help. You’d do it for me, you always stuck around no matter what, why wouldn’t it be the same?”
He’s half on the bed at this point, gently gripping the shorter boy’s wrists and trying to pull them away from his face, “I’ll always be there for you Tony, to hell and back, I’ll never give up on you, ever.”
