I just finished book EIGHT and I’m gonna be real honest, this series is exhausting me. The only things pushing me to finish is the time I’ve already put in, plus finding out Seth and Darcy’s outcomes.

There have been so many side quests and Geraldine Grus gets on my very. last. nerve.

And the random POV’s like Justin or Vard? Who cares??

The series had so much potential but it feels too all over the place.

Also, the Heirs reaction to Darius dying had me way more in my feelings than Tory did. And then she just brings him back? Nah. Sorry. We loved our Darry boy but I just can’t with that.

I respect that Holly Black, time after time, gives me endings I don’t expect. I don’t always like them, but I appreciate that she doesn’t take the obvious route. Mad props!

Unpopular Opinion: She didn’t make me love Suren enough. I ended up rooting for Oak more and didn’t feel invested in her outcome. I think because her other books have given a backstory for Oak and his family, which means I’m already emotionally tied to them.
