“He is a golden retriever. Lives with me.” He said. “I can’t really say that I own him because I own him as much as he owns me. It can be hard to explain.”

“I hate anxiety. Oh? Who’s Atlas?”
“He is a golden retriever. Lives with me.” He said. “I can’t really say that I own him because I own him as much as he owns me. It can be hard to explain.”
Closed- Ava & Dree
“Bad Dree!” Ava admonished. “I kid, I kid,” she reached over and made a garb for his phone. She proceeded to download the app for him. “Do you guys ever watch Brooklyn 99 over here? One of the characters gets addicted to a candy crush knockoff and it’s hilarious. I’ve never really gotten into phone games, but I’m hopeless when it comes to social media.”
Dree didn’t even have a chance to hand the girl his phone, it just disappeared in a split second. “I’ve never even heard of that show, though I’m not the ideal person to ask. My lack in knowledge of any technology proves that.” He pointed out. “Social Media is new to me, obviously. I just figure out whatever is download on the damn thing and someone put games. I don’t even remember who it was.”
“At least it wasn’t the soap that was dropped, you might’ve given someone the wrong impression,” Spencer smirked, winking at Dree.
“I have no-” Dree paused, realizing what the other was talking about. “Well that’s just uncalled for.” He said, but a smile was on his face. “I’ll keep that in mind whenever I drop anything.”
“Always have,” Landon said sincerely, taking another sip of his drink. “How do I always forget that you’re a proper smartarse,” He laughed, flicking Dree’s shoulder. “You say it like I let my plants die, I’m bloody trying here. Maybe this is just an elaborate plan of mine to spend more time with Atlas, my real best friend, you never know. Her name is… we’re calling her Puppy at the moment. It’s sort of my job to name her and it’s sort of not happening at the moment. She’s a dachshund, the cutest one in the whole world.”
“It’s the supposed teddy bear demeanor. Everyone expects me to be the sweetest person as well, but every animal has a bit of bite in them.” Dree pointed out. He gave Landon a light shove in return. “Did you think we were best friends all this time before that? Atlas is my one and only.” He said, a smile on his face. He throughly enjoyed giving Landon a hard time. “I have a feeling Puppy is what is going to stick, especially with you.”
Text - Dree/Chloe
Chloe: You need to be educated dude
Chloe: like damn
Dree: I lived off the grid for about 3 months
Dree: And before that my parents wouldn't let me have anything to do with muggles
Dree: bit of a struggle
“Well I can wrap some bells around my ankles next time in that case,” Ashlyn suggested with a shrug in response to Dree’s reaction, smirking slightly.
“Almost as sneaky as a cat. Need a bell so they don’t murder all the birds in the yard.” Dree joked, as he tucked part of his apron in a pocket.
“Well since my Dad travels for work at times, she is left home for the week until I go to visit, so I left my cat and the owl there so they keep her company. I don’t want my mum to get anxiety over it. I got people here to talk to.”
“That’s really sweet of you, honestly.” He told her. “I could never leave Atlas anywhere. I guess I would be the one getting anxiety if he were gone.” Dree said, talking about his dog.
Landon, Noah and Dree on a Gryffindor quidditch team retreat. Taken by Fiona. Fall ‘15
“It’ll be a momentous occasion for us all,” Landon affirmed. “Fake it till you make it, I’ve heard that all before,” He waved him off, smiling nevertheless. “Too real for a night out on the town? I don’t think I have anything that real,” He frowned momentarily, unable to even guess what that would be. “Alright, that’s fine, Another time then, if you like. Instead, we can plan a puppy playdate for my new daughter dog and Atlas.”
“Very much to real. Trust me.” He said. Dree knew one day he’d ended up telling Landon, but it was still quite scary to think about after all. “”I’ll tell you one day. but it is night, therefor I can’t.” Dree joked, to lighten the mood a bit. “You have a dog? OH god. Please don’t let it die like your plants. I will need to come over and visit all the time with Atlas. Make sure she is still alive. Does she have a name? Breed?” Dree bombarded him with questions and concerns.
As he walked back to his apartment after work, Dree dropped his apron. Quickly bending down to grab it, he was shocked to see a person standing in front of him when he stood back up. “You scared me shitless.”
Emma chuckled a bit. “Well it could be if I had my cat and owl here, so I could take care of them, but it has been a good day so far. ”
“Why don’t you have them here?” Dree asked. “I’m sure you would be allowed to have them.”
Astrid couldn’t help but laugh at his confusion, it was something she’d grown used to, it wasn’t as if any of this was normal even for people in the wizarding world. “I don’t know, it’s rather intense, and very complicated but I’m just happy that it did happen.” She admitted, not elaborating much more. “Most definitely.”
“I think I’m fine not knowing, unless it was a potion.” He told her. “In that case I want it explained so I can learn to make it.” Dree mentioned. It wasn’t very unlike him at all to want the info if it pertained to his interest. “Let’s hope both of our lives can return to some sort of normal. I swear Durmstrang just sets us all up for some sort of mess.”
“Sounds amazing, this is why you’re my favorite.” James smiled. “I make a pretty mean homemade bread. I bet it’ll go real great with omelette.”
“By the sound of it, we are great chefs.” He said. “We should just open up a bed and breakfast. New career move. Let’s just drop out of a uni.”
Closed- Ava & Dree
Ava swung the door open wide with a grand flourish. “Come on in, you twitter novice! Grey’s not home so you can tae your shoes off,” Ava joked. “Show me what you’ve got. Did you download the app?”
@dree-burke
Dree grinned as he walked into the girl’s apartment, kicking his shoes off by the door. “Of course I haven’t. The only things I have downloaded on my phone are thing’s people have done for me.” He admitted. “Everyone regrets letting me have candy crush.”
Aiden stopped moving when Dree come to the door, looking between the phone and the boy. For someone who knew so little of technology, he spent an awful amount of time playing that game. And standing out in the cold, Aiden silently cursed whoever put it on his phone. “Honestly, man, not even I was ever this obsessed with Candy Crush.” Aiden shook his head in rebuke. He let out a laugh, none the less, beaming when he saw the dog. “Atlas! How is my second favorite dog?” He gave Atlas a scratch behind the ears, struggling a bit to move past him into the flat.
“It is one of the few apps on my phone. And I enjoy it.” He said in defense. It was one of his favorite things to do. He was actually quite good at it. On level 867 after all. “Atlas, let him in the flat.. IT is cold at.” He told his dog. The dog moved enough into the place to let Aiden have enough room to get inside and close the door, but he still expected to be pet. “At least Atlas doesn’t judge me for playing the game.” Dree said, but there was a grin on his face.
“Aw! My cat is actually being nice and helping take care of the baby owl. OH! And my parents sent me snacks.”
“I am actually a bit jealous of you.” He said “Sounds like the perfect day to me. Could it get any better?”
“Perfect, it’ll be a surprise,” Landon enthused, not one to be discouraged. “I’ll take that,” He nodded. There are worst things to be. “A therapist, yeah, because anyone would let me diagnose others.” He laughed, grabbing them both drinks. “Really. Tell me something about you that I don’t know.”
“Can’t wait til my birthday then.” Dree said, chuckling. “You never know. Jsut go to school and act your way through it. You can be anything mate.” He told Landon, sunding a bit like a motivational poster. “I think the only thing you don’t know about me gets a little to real.” Dree’s voice grew quiet. Really, Landon knew most things about him and the only things he wouldn’t have known by now is what happened when he was gone and he was worried how the other would react to it.
