Jian was convinced to go to the bar with his coworkers, but he just wanted to go home. He had never been to this bar before, and the aforementioned coworkers abandoned him to go dancing. He was unfamiliar with the song, but it was catchy enough, so he bopped his head along to the beat as he sipped his drink. He noticed someone approaching and stated, “No one’s sitting here. Well, someone was but they left to go dance, and that was 10 minutes ago, so I’m sure it would be okay if you took the seat.”
Lois walked into the bar, early to meet her friends. She decided to go ahead and sit down somewhere, order a drink, and relax. She approached the bar and went to sit down next to someone. “Oh, nice. They can find a new seat later.” She shrugged. “I won’t be here long.” She caught the bartender’s attention and ordered her drink.

You matched with Lois on 12/16/20.
LOIS: hey!
LOIS: do you want to hear a bad pick up line?
LOIS: did you just come out of the oven? bc you’re hot.
LOIS: i'm here all night...
danielsteelexx:
It was crowded, but he’d expected it almost. He’d tuned out most of the noise but now he could hear a couple arguing loudly behind him. “Amazing, isn’t it?” Daniel glanced at the person sitting closest to him. “Can you imagine being that pissed at your significant other that you start a yelling match in the middle of somewhere?” The man shook his head slightly.
Lois loved people watching and overhearing their conversations, as a writer she felt like it helped her get insight on other types of people. She chuckled when someone started talking to her about the couple fighting. “I can’t, honestly, but it’s entertaining.” She lifted her glass and took a sip. “Grade A drama here.”
“Did you know that there is such a thing as too many macarons?” Brandon added another packet of sugar into his coffee and took the time to stir and taste it before he continued. “I didn’t know that was even a thing but I actually spent more money on them than I did clothes this time and I’m still trying to figure that out.”
@santamonicarp-starters
“I could see that happening. Macarons are so good if done right. But also I’ve never had a bad macaron, just a flavor I didn’t like.” Lois shrugged. “But they are so expensive, I have spent over fifty dollars on macarons before.”

“Lois, I’m not letting you walk home. Wilshire isn’t exactly around the block.” He went into the app and went to go change the destination. However, he realized he didn’t know exactly where she lived, so he handed the phone over to her. “Put your address in and then you can add your number.”
She shook her head. “No, it’s totally fine. I can get my own uber if I get tired on the way.” Plus, she wanted to pick up Chipotle on the way back. “No offense, but I’m seriously good. You don’t have to worry about me. I lived in Georgia for four years, I’m used to creeps.”

AJ: I deadass have a lot of people on my contacts, my bad 😅
AJ: OOF. Definitely not the type to be rolling like that.
LOIS: that sucks but also not trying to be the other woman
LOIS: anyways bye

Gracie tried to look for a word to describe what has been happening, besides the typical nothing much, “Uh well…life has been shitty but I mean…I’m still going forward so…I guess good? What about you?”
Lois was looking at her and noticing the differences in her look, how she became a real adult. It made her self-conscious, wondering how much she herself had changed. It made her feel older, more her age than she normally felt. “I finished school and moved back here. Just been writing.”

AJ: ????
AJ: Oh, thanks, bro! Appreciated!
AJ: Wait. OHHHHHH. FAIRY GIRL. Hey! My bad about that, I just sent a mass text out to everyone.
LOIS: ...k
LOIS: i was gonna say it's a bit weird to message me when you've got a gf
gracerothschild:
“I…” Gracie trailed off, knowing for a fact life has been rather…hard, dealing with a breakup recently than having to try to do the whole single life again, scratching the back of head. “it’s been rather a lot but…hey…at least I am alive.”
Lois wasn’t even sure if it was appropriate to ask her if she wanted to talk about it. “What’s been happening?” She decided to ask instead. Lois’s life had been kind of uneventful since she graduated college. She’d just been chilling, writing, and partying with old friends.

AJ: yes, I'm deadass asking about movie recs cause it's movie night with my girl, it's our new tradition. 🥺🥺

LOIS: oh fuck okay
LOIS: sorry, i'm not really interested in being friends. i just wanted someone to hook up with but good luck with your gf!
LOIS: but if you're single in the future just lmk you were the gaston

He was a confused when she said that what they were planning on doing was a bad idea, but he wasn’t hurt. He knew he could bounce back and move on. “It’s because of my bad Uber rating, isn’t it?” He would definitely have to figure out how to check and fix his rating at some point, or just switch over to a different ride sharing app.
“It’s completely about the Uber rating,” Lois joked back with him. It was just harder for her to sleep with someone who knew her, even if it was just a little. She preferred hooking up with people who she didn’t care to know, it was just safer for her. “I’m going to walk home. What’s your number? I’ll send you tips on getting a higher passenger rating.”
gracerothschild:
Gracie knew that sometimes Santa Monica was small, although often times felt huge when she felt alone the most. But the one person she wasn’t expecting to see was Lois, it’s been several years and the way they left things was awkward, just like now as she tried to flash an uncertain smile. “Hey…Lois.”
Lois thought maybe she shouldn’t have said anything, that it might’ve been better to just hurry out the store and hope she didn’t notice. “How have you been?” She asked, trying to break the ice. She just wanted to go home, though. This was a perfect example of how shitty she could be to people she cared about.

“Hey, uh…yeah, I don’t know your name. I was gonna try to guess but…I have no idea.” Mike grinned. “ANYWAY. I was wanting to try out a new joke and you seem like you’ve got a good sense of humor. Mind if I try it out?”
“Alright,” Lois said before she chuckled. “It’s Lois, by the way. I’ll listen to your joke.” She didn’t mind and was intrigued. She felt like she had a pretty solid, average sense of humor. She wasn’t wildly funny but wasn’t boring either.
kylamaret:
“A teal? Yeah I guess that would be a good in-between, I’ll put that on the to- do list for tomorrow, grab some teal hair dye. Have you ever wanted to dye your hair?” Kyla asked curiously. “Yeah I believe that you are right, I mean imagine we were just talking for an hour and then it gets to the awkward moment where names come up. That would have been embarrassing for the two of us.” She chuckled as she shook her hand.
“Yeah? Do you want my number so you can send me pics of your teal hair? I thought about it, but I love my natural color. I get told it’s a rare one that people try to get from a bottle.” She nodded. “Right? The only thing worse than that is forgetting someone’s name after they told you.”
lexa-maxwell:
“Literally the weekend after New Year’s it’s a ghost town. That’s the best time to go. You could literally tear up the parks in no time,” Lexa pointed out, remembering her last trip to Disneyworld. “Even Disneyland, I mean my parents would take us like that Thursday right after we started back from school and we’d have Friday off, it was glorious,” She chuckled. “I loved dolls growing up. I had my own American Girl doll too! I think I was more fond of her when I was like 5-6 but I was obsessed with Barbie. I remember in Girl Scouts there was a contest of selling like 250 boxes to win a custom made Barbie…and I still have her, I had a friend fix her up and everything in high school. Literally my prized possession.”
“Everyone goes back to work but I’m self-employed and get to do whatever I want, whenever I want to.” Lois chuckled. “Wow, that’s so cool of them. Your parents sound really sweet.” Lois didn’t realize how neglected she was as a child until she talked to some friends in college about their parents. She couldn’t relate, her mom never made dinners and her dad was always working. “You were a Girl Scout? That’s so cute! I wanted to be a Girl Scout and earn badges.”
