Norse Mythology Loki!
Hail to Hel Queen of Helheim Wisest of Wights Keeper of Secrets Keeper of the hopes for tomorrow Guardian of Souls Implacable one of the frozen realm Half the face of beauty Half the face of Death. You who feed the dead At your meager table Where everyone gets their fair share, You who care not About wealth or status, About fame or fortune, Who cares for the peasant Equally with the ruler, Teach us that Death is the great leveller And that we need have no pride When we reach your halls. Lady who takes away Yet holds always promise, Teach us to praise loss and death And the passing of all things, For from this flux We know your blessings flow.
from the Pagan Book of Hours (via lavenderheljardottir)
@Damien McMonagle, one of our generous supporters, requested a piece about the Blood Brothers, Óðinn and Loki. Our most recent addition to the team here at Huginn’s Heathen Hof was happy to help!
Blood Brothers, by Dagulf Loptson.
Hail to the blood-brothers, You who are chance and destiny; Often the closest of companions. Hail to you who mixed your king’s blood Like the fire and ice that created the world. Together you are the torch in the darkness That draws us deep into forbidden places.
You are two sides of the same coin, You are the chaos that hides behind creation, You are genius that flirts with madness. You grant us the breath of divine consciousness, Which stokes the fire of our will.
How often has one of you worn your brother’s mask To deceive us poor mortals Into trusting one of you and despising the other? You are the two-man con, You lead us right to where you want us Like pieces in the game of Wyrd you play.
You are the raven and the vulture That feast together on our refuse When we sacrifice ourselves to learn who we truly are. One brother was tied to the tree, The other tied to three rocks, But both of your bindings shattered the world; For creation and destruction Are truly the same point on the endless wheel of time.
One does not take without the other, One does not loose without the other. A son was send to the realm of Hel To pay for the son chained at Lyngvi; For you both bring balance through sacrifice, And only you truly know the cost.
We honor you, sacred wind, Who rattles the branches of Yggdrasil. We honor you, sacred fire, Who burns brightly under its roots. One could not exist without the other, And without the depths and the heights The tree couldn’t stand.
Hail to the sacred twins, Odin and Loki: The flame and the shadow it casts. You two hungry wolves Will roam through the worlds together Until the end of time.
Mischievous: (of a person, animal, or their behavior) causing or showing a fondness for causing trouble in a playful way.
Prompt 20 for #kats30day , “a mythical God”. Norse mythology is the best and for as long as I can remember Loki has been my favorite (there’s a reason why I’ve used his kids as personae for my persona ocs xD)
You may kiss the bride by SceithAilm Then bound they on Thor | the bridal veil, And next the mighty | Brisings’ necklace. Keys around him | let they rattle, And down to his knees | hung woman’s dress; With gems full broad | upon his breast, And a pretty cap | to crown his head. Then Loki spake, | the son of Laufey: “As thy maid-servant thither | I go with thee; We two shall haste | to the giants’ home.”

Here’s Sigyn in color by yours truly.
Sigyn with a bonus Loki to color if you so choose.
Most art I see of Sigyn is of her suffering and weeping, holding the Bowl. I wanted there to be some art of her happy, so there you go.
You have my permission to print these out or color them for yourselves, as long as you promise to show me your work and give me credit. I didn’t sign these because I didn’t want to be obtrusive but please be nice to me and not claim these as your own. ;v;
also I’m not 100% sure I spelled Sigyn’s name right, should I have used Jera instead? (if so I’ll fix it and reupload)
