Biden & School Loans
Remember, a few months ago how every liberal was like “yay Biden is going to take our student loans away! Woo-hoo! Maybe even cancel them!”
Well, within the last few days at a town hall when a woman said to his face that his proposed 10,000 isn’t enough, and that we need at least 50,000 in debt forgiveness for higher education. She asked, “what will you do about that?” And he said, and I quote, “I will not make that happen.”
During the later stages of the campaign, he and others promised $2,000 stimulus checks to come directly to us. Before he even became president he switched his position on the issue. No. Apparently, because 600 + 1,400 in two separate checks equals 2,000 & that should be “enough” for us working or in college to survive.
Oh, and it seems as if he has or will soon completely drop wanting to make the minimum wage $15 an hour. Why? No republicans support it, and he wants to be ~bipartisan~ and get shit done. There are even some Democrats (ahem, Joe Manchin, who was completely fine with his daughter being a Mylan CEO & making over 20mil a year but not average people surviving-but that’s a story for another day) who don’t support it. If there’s a red wave in 22, this is the reason. We want to simply live, and we can’t because they refuse to actually change anything for the better.
This is all you need to know about Joe Biden. He could literally end our debt with the stroke of a pen. He changes his stances on his issues to be “bipartisan.” Well Joey, here’s a fucking newsflash: No one cares about being bipartisan when we’re just trying to fucking survive out here.
Oh and while we’re at it. Reinstate the Violence Against Women Act.

Hey dude! What the fuck!
In my heart this is all about blockading Britain but my brain knows it’s about drowning migrants
me realizing my experiences with sewing have been a lie this whole goddamn time:
I don’t know about human surgeons, but that’s a suture pattern I use to close skin all the time and you can see why.
The slip stitch (or invisible stitch) was created to hide seams and later used by surgeons.
My cousin is a surgeon and was sewing something and used that stitch and then froze and said “Wait this isn’t a person.”
Grandma said “We used it first keep going.”
remember not to embroider the patient
Calvin and Hobbes still relevant 25 years later.
to those of you who literally just stayed alive and made it to the end of the year, i'm so proud of you.
Ecofascism and American Christianity have a lot in common.
Someone said "Are you really so stupid to think that Africa has the same technological advances as us? If they did they would probably have clean water and not live in houses made of sticks and mud. Get over yourself and stop being so ignorant."..... Below is a tiny collection of images of the Africa they refuse to show you..
ches
I’m sorry you’ve been made to believe that the whole of Africa is poor, I really am..
Reblogging for those of you who think Africa is only what the media and movies portrays it to be
This fucks me up because it’s scary to think that we can be showed something all our lives and not even know it’s a lie
And that my friend is the power of propaganda, indoctrination, and media
Are these pictures of South Africa or of Africa as a whole?
@the-collecting-turnip From top to bottom:
1. Port Elizabeth (South Africa)
2. Unknown
3. Nairobi (Kenya)
4. Pretoria (South Africa)
5. Aburi Botanical Gardens (Ghana)
6. Cape Town (South Africa)
7. Pretoria (South Africa)
8. Harare (Zimbabwe)
9. Windhoek (Namibia)
10. Windhoek (Namibia)
To @kushandwizdom this is a rather unfair portrayal of Africa as a whole since half of these are literally just South Africa. So Instead to add to this post and better dispel the myth of Africa as the vast wasteland of poverty most people think, I found a much more mixed collection of pics from various countries.
Luanda, Angola
Agadir, Morocco
Lagos, Nigeria
Cairo, Egypt
Port Louis, Mauritius
Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire
Algiers, Algeria
Tripoli, Libya
Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
Tunis, Tunisia
So, there, a much better case demonstrating the various major cities around Africa showing it isn’t some technologically backwards continent, but actually pretty up-and-coming in the world of commerce.
I once was talking to my Ethiopian manager about ignorant people asking her dumb shit about her life before she moved to the states…
the worst story she told me about was when she told a fellow student (at a fairly prestigious university) about a concert she went to back home. The other student responded with “omg you have music there!?” 🤦🏾♀️
Rebloging, because we need to see these pictures.
As for stupid questions: “do you have grocery stores in Ecuador?”
These are great!
A redneck neighbor once asked my mom (in the 80s) if they had cars in Peru. Sigh.
This is the product of poor world history in school & little current affairs coverage outside Western Europe, except for catastrophes, so all we see are the war torn, poverty stricken, disaster-affected parts on the news. And racism, of course.
I bet most Americans who think that African countries are just completely poverty stricken have no idea what the US looks like in its poorest areas, not everywhere in the US is nice suburbs or unrealistically large apartments on tv
Los Angeles, California
Hartford, Connecticut
New Orleans, Louisiana
Camden, New Jersey
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
McDowell County, West Virginia
Flint, Michigan
Washington, D.C.
Do you see the world as it is, or as someone told you it is?
No matter what a post on tumblr tries to tell you, your moral and ethical stances will never be determined by what you reblog and what you scroll past. Don’t let manipulation tactics force you into doing anything you don’t want to do.
I find it very interesting to note the times in which this post has a sudden resurgence. It often follows very stressful, upsetting events, where a lot of “REBLOG THIS OR YOU SUCK” posts start appearing on this site.
So I’ll say it again: it is okay if you come to tumblr to escape upsetting news. It is okay if you’re just here for fun and fandom. It is okay if you do not want to use your tumblr as a place to read about or spread the current events that are circulating. It is okay if you need a place to decompress and just relax. There are other ways to be involved in/support causes and you are allowed to set boundaries on social media platforms without it being indicative of your belief systems.
Your beliefs, values, ethics, and moral stances are not determined by whether or not you reblog something.

Transition Crowdfund: please reblog!!
PLEASE donate if you can!
(date: 8th December)
Hi, you might remember me from this post, and well since it has kind of run out of steam and I am pretty much still on square one, I thought I’d make a new post rather than keep adding to that one.
In summary, hi I am Julia, I am an unemployed autistic trans woman living with my partner who is also an unemployed trans woman, and we really do not have the funds to pay for my transition through private healthcare, which is making my dysphoria really hard to cope with and function with life.
The private clinic I am going to is £250 per appointment, and will likely require roughly about 1 appointment per 2 months. I am also currently paying for hormones out of my own pocket until I can get my appointments, which costs me around £50 a month. I also require electrolysis, which costs around £50 per session and usually takes around 10-20 sessions. Universal Credit here in the UK already doesn’t give us enough money to live on and on top of that they take from us for their own debts. So to be honest, we need money for basic living costs too.
I have roughly calculated that I will by a pessimistic estimate in total need: £6700 over the next year if I am to afford this.
If you are able to help, please do donate here! If you cannot then don’t worry about it, I know many of us are struggling especially now, but please reblog, you have no idea how much it helps!!
14th December
£58/£6700
If everyone who’s boosted this so far gave just $1 I would be able to afford 2 appointments with the gender clinic which would be enough to set me up with a prescription and regular bloodwork regimen, that alone would be an utterly life-changing sum of money for me!
I now have my k o f í page set up if you would prefer giving that way. As always, there’s no pressure to donate as i know a lot of us are in hardship, but reblogging helps more than you know!!
