I feel like we all just universally imagine the Avengers in/right after 2012 as being a group of some sort of glorified firefighters who live together in the Tower and watch movies and play cards while they wait for an alarm bell to ring, indicating some sort of disaster, and then they all get up and suit up with varying senses of urgency, and I think that’s beautiful.
Okay but someone needs to write a fic where Tony puts a pole in for people who don't want to wait for the elevator to get to a lower floor.
And he was not aware that Loki took pole dancing and pole fighting lessons and just loves playing with poles.
Steve : There aren’t enough chairs for all of us.
Thor : Loki can sit on my lap.
Loki: I'd rather sit on the floor.
Thor : :(
Loki: OH FINE. *Shifts into cat form and perches on Thor's shoulder* Thor: :)
Thor doesn’t remember meeting baby Loki or his life before Loki, but he does have memories of Loki as a baby.
No absolutely! Personal hc that Thor and Loki aren’t really that different age wise and that Thor was a small toddler when he first met Loki. He definitely has memories of encouraging Loki to walk (and more importantly run so that they could go explore and play together) and also Loki learning how to speak. Which again, personal hc that his first word was Thor.
Mainly I think that Thor was extremely isolated before Loki showed up and he doesn’t remember it but he was really happy to have someone to play with. I adore the idea of Thor thinking that Loki is a gift that his parents have given him, and that Loki is actually his and their parents take care of Loki for him. And Thor then throwing tantrums when he’s not with Loki. And, let’s be honest, Loki throwing tantrums when he’s not with Thor. Both of them definitely left the nursery at the same time, even if Thor was a little too old to still be in there.
I especially love the idea of Thor remembering Loki learning to speak. I can imagine the brothers walking together, with Thor pointing at animals and objects and naming them, and tiny Loki repeating the information.
Ahhh yesss!! Thor would love to be the one to “teach” Loki everything, like words and how to hide from their nurses and even how to sneak out at night. Both of them are tiny and padding about the place, hand in hand, trying super hard not to giggle because “look Loki, we’re big boys now”! They’d absolutely get caught if they stayed out for too long but if it’s just for a little while, Heimdall would pretend not to notice.
Also Thor would absolutely just let Loki get away with anything he wanted and I think for a while, frigga would worry that Loki would never learn to walk because Thor simply carried him everywhere. Even when he does learn to walk, Loki would def prefer to latch onto Thor’s back like a little koala.
Like all kids, they have a lot of trouble with sharing, especially when it comes to Thor’s fav toys because Loki would just chew them up. But then Loki would see Thor be sad and bring Thor one of his stuffed animals and tell him he can chew that, and it would make Thor feel better!
Also loki had a phase where he repeated everything Thor said and wanted to be exactly like Thor, and Thor was SO ANNOYED with it until Odin told him it was because Loki liked him so much that he was mimicking Thor. And after that, Thor is more or less okay with it. Especially when Loki shimmies his way into one of Thor’s outfits and it’s hanging off him so badly, but he wears it all day and cries when it’s taken off. (This is also where Loki’s favorite color comes from. Thor was a little obsessed with green at this time and loki wanted to be just like him.)
Reminder about Thanos from Infinity War.
Though he is ultimately more noble than his alternate 2014 counterpart, it is only by relative terms. If Thanos was truly a well-intentioned extermist, he wouldn't have destroyed the Infinity Stones. He would have kept it as a failsafe in case his plan failed. But no, he destroyed them on the justification of "temptation" and made everyone live with his choices and his actions.
He retires after completing his mission, but he has that smug satisfaction that everyone will know what he did and will praise him for it eventually. He doesn't need to show his face anymore. He already made a name for himself across the galaxy. They know him as the Mad Titan and the most powerful being in the universe. But of course, that reputation was all about fear of what he does and not Thanos truly wants. What Thanos wants are praises. Vindication that he is right all along.
He will die happily as a martyr if he believes they can't undo his genocide and will eventually accept it. That's what 2018 Thanos went out believing. But as we see with 2014 Thanos, the moment he is given information that not only did the universe not thank him for his deeds but actually went through all the trouble to find a way to undo the Blip, Thanos shows his true colors. He could have rethink his plans and ponder if he was truly right or not. He could halted his quest and instead fix the damages he caused. He could have just made better failsafes for his universe to ensure that his plan here will succeed. But no, Thanos wants to prove the Avengers wrong in their universe. That's how frail his ego is.
He intends to wipe out the other half of the universe and restart completely, with new life having no memory of the past and only know peace and happiness. Thanos' true motive is made clear. He wants recognition and love on his terms, to the point he's willing to break his own goals just to ensure that. He wants to hear the universe proclaim that he was right all along, that all his centuries of hardship and slaughter wasn't all for nothing. He refuses to considering changing himself and accept that he may be wrong and his critics have a point. A tragic character ultimately, for there is no one but himself to be blame for his ultimate downfall in Endgame.
My favorite troupe in any media is tragic siblings. Like, fuck yeah, give me those fucked up siblings who still love each other despite all the pain. Give me those siblings who would do anything for the other, even if it means hurting them in the process. Give me older siblings who are almost like parents but don't know shit about raising kids because they themself are a child, but try their hardest anyway. I want that deep love poorly masked as resentment and contempt. Let me see them make up tearfully or end tragically without resolving any of the past hurts. I live for that shit.

Thor loves Loki so much that his entire back is Loki's shrine. He carries Loki with him. I'm in pain. Loki always had Thor's back when he lived and when he's dead....

“The Tesseract or your brother’s head. I assume you have a preference?”
Have….have we ever considered the fact how utterly disturbing it is that Thanos a) waves Thor in front of Loki because he knows that Loki would kill the universe to save him, and B) HE RECOGNIZED THOR AS LOKI’S BROTHER ON THE SPOT?
I don’t think that Thanos, Thor, and Loki had a little sit down before the battle started and talked about familial relationships.
This line, usually thought of in passing, means these things:
Thanos knows how important Thor is to Loki, which means Thanos and Loki have talked about this beforehand.
Thanos knows what Thor looks like which means Thanos has seen Thor from Loki’s head before
Thanos knows that Loki has the Tesseract. He could have chosen ANY PERSON on the ship to convince Loki to give up the Tesseract, but instead, he picked Thor out of the group and CHOSE to use Thor against Loki on PURPOSE.
Thanos didn’t demand the Tesseract from Loki first, he WANTED to play with him and he WANTED to torture Loki and he WANTED to see Loki mouth “please” and he WANTED to see Loki’s desperation and he WANTED to see Loki break again, and he WANTED Loki to think Thor getting tortured was his fault, not Thanos’
Thanos knows Loki on an intimate level that we do not fully understand.
Thanos probably knows Loki better than his family does
And Thanos, more than likely, killed him in the way that he knew Loki was terrified of
